If anyone would quit over this, they are probably the type of person who shouldn't play this game in the first place.
Time to make one like this for RP realms too and a reminder of their specific policies.
I can implement the code rule for this :Does the comment written by the player break the law?
No, you got it wrong. Its about calling out people. Kicking failers from group is okay, calling them out is not. They should know that they shouldnt go higher difficulty if they cant afford that. The easier game is, basically the worse playerbase is in general. In wow, we have few difficulties which makes this game interesting as you can progress your skill. If you are being kicked it means you should practice more, but it doesnt allow people to call out someone for that. Polite kick should be understandable, AND THEN reversed- even if someone who was kicked would call you out for that THEN- HE BREAK THE RULES OF THE GAME. Its simply about respecting eachother, not being forced to boost. Toxicity is a thing in both- skilled players and unskilled ones.Just randomly getting kicked with no warning or anything said will not help that person to learn to practice more. If anything that would make them more upset because its blind-sided. Calling them out is perfectly ok, being a complete @&*hat about it is not. Confrontation is ok in this day an age (regardless of the society right now) as long as you are not attacking someone.
People are trying their hardest to justify being %^&*heads for no reason.
Blizzard should implement in their hiring process, so their dev team won't be filled with sexist, racist, homophobic and bigoted people. Maybe they should look in their own backyard instead of putting the blame on the players. If any other game did this, I would be fine with it, but the fact that they have the audacity to lay out "terms of behavior" with their recent history is disgusting to me. I'd also put money on this thing not being implemented on Chinese servers because blizzard is fine with toxic behavior when money is on the table.
Great concept until it is a different opinion of lets just say some websites that ban if you dont agree,I believe thats why they left out religious beliefs from the terms. As a private company they have the right to refuse service, just remember that goes both ways. And do we want to live in a world where there is no discussion of different opinions and just have to follow the leaders, we will never progress as humans and just cause more discourse instead of unity.
"Hate speech, including negative comments that target another player's identity, including aspects like race, gender, or ability" I mean I assume this has to do with Real world stuff it would seem odd that we could not be negative against in game races given the constant state of war in game?
this, is cringeand again..
To be honest, "Accept or Exit Game" is how online games should do it. It is a bit aggressive, but that's good. Makes those who feel invincible feel more down to earth.
People want free speech yet all they do with that free speech is throw slurs around like lol?
And here I thought Blizzard had the ignore feature for a reason...
This is a good thing, and it’s not articulating anything that isn’t already a thing. Honestly it’s a lot easier and you have a much better experience if you’re just nice to people. I don’t understand why people waste time being horrible, they just ruin their own experience. When you’re helpful to people in game, it makes your own game enjoyable as well as theirs.Otherwise just use /ignore and don’t rise to the bait.
Very much a positive step, If it leads to more active moderation, even better.
This is already in game. However they need to fix the reporting system as it is seriously flawed. You can literally get someone chat banned based on how many times he is reported in a small time period. The report trolling is what I call it and it needs to be fixed. However, If you think that this little contract will deter people from continuing on in their crusade to violate the agreement, guess again. All they need to do is agree and continue their normal routine of trade chat humiliation and trolling. No matter how many times you report someone for abusive language, it goes unnoticed and the guy will continue on his way. Please fix the current issues before adding fuel to the dumpster fire. The contract wont work....
