I mean, it's all useless without enforcement, which has never been a strong point in WoW.
Do the employees have to sign this too? The toxicity is inside AND outside.
Imagine logging on the game to get away from the world but they keep implementing social contracts instead of letting you just play their damn game. This is absolutely horrendous and will kill the game similar to other games killed by this type of push for self censorship. LET THE TOXICITY FLOW... if you cant handle it, just ignore them.... not complicated.
Looks interesting
Should just add a block button for the meanies cos thats clearly not a thing
Social Contracts go both ways, Blizzard.
Warning people not to be toxic = good. Not having a company culture that for years treated employees like this = better Yes, yes they are working on changing but this still seems hypocritical AF to me. I have yet to be convinced of real, lasting change on campus.
negative comments that target another player's identity, including aspects like race—————-Bans now incoming for those who disparage gnomes!
Now if only the other legal jargon you accept was this short and simple to read too.
This whole "Either be a nice person or gtfo" kind of thing is pretty toxic in my opinion. Look, if you cant handle the internet being a slightly rocky place.. why be on it? Forced politeness and forced behavior makes this game feel more like "We Happy Few" rather than "Warcraft"
This is very open to interpretation, especially to those that are doing the enforcing. Especially since it doesn't talk about anything to do with religious beliefs or ideological beliefs, which gives the enforcement very open to a biased view of things. Also the fact practically anything can be taken as "derogatory" or abusive, especially since their so much limited in context in the form of text, even if criticism is taken the wrong way and its meant to be helpful. Then their is the blatantly "derogatory" or "abusive" behavior or any form harassment is already against the rules and is questionably enforced or even reported to begin with. But the "hate speech" thing is non sense, you can literally lump that in there together with the "derogatory" and "abusive" or as a form of harassment, which makes it very redundant, also the term is very ideological and very biased term. Especially if you are going to be enforcing rules, its very simple. If you are being a mean person or harassing people for what ever reason, you can get punished, no need to use specific terms, just make it very straightforward and less biased sounding. But at the same time, a lot of this "social contract" is stuff that was covered in the ToS, but all they did is threw in a lot of fluff, to appease all parties and its meaningless if Blizzard doesn't make any quality products to keep people around. This was my two cents, just trying to voice my opinions objectively as possible.
It says please note that the following behaviors are not accepted in Azeroth. So only in Azeroth?.
