I love it so much. I can finally play my pretty draenei and nelfs again and dont have to be stuck on ugly horde races and still be able to push with my friends. Its the best change in like 2 years lolNow just player housing and we are good to go.
There is an opt out for those who don't want it which is nice. For those who do want it, the lack of cross-faction guilds will significantly dampen the enthusiasm. Even now, a lot of people prefer to join the guild chat than the guild discord and there are a lot of other factors to consider. It will also significantly affect one thing that would create a lot of sales for Blizzard; with no cross faction guilds far fewer people will feel comfortable changing to Alliance (or I guess Horde, thought I am sure the former will outnumber the latter) if they feel they'd have to drop their guild and rely on friends list/communities to maintain contact. Plus guild leaders want guild achievements to some extent. For me this is a god send. The raiding communities I raid with struggle to form Alliance groups. With cross faction, we will probably be able to field even more raids since the Horde raids often have more people than they can take and I might even be able to find or start an evening raid since almost everyone raids until later in the night for my timezone and I am a middle aged man that needs to wake up early for work:(
I applaud Blizzards decision, their reasoning and their courage to make changes this big to the game. The faction war never made much sense to me, especially since we were always fighting the real "big bads" united. The way they're going now, with smaller groups continuing their (boring) hatred-driven fighting while the larger picture being more of a "live and let live" mentality, with cooperation where needed, is great and makes so much more sense. Also thanks for saving the Alliance with this decision, Blizzard. Alliance player's options to raid and PvP have been dwindling for many years and in BfA and Shadowlands we have seen so many raids fall apart on alliance side... to the point that many big, Alliance-heavy servers (at least in EU) have lost half their population - not just because of people quitting the game, but because so many felt forced to go horde to continue high-end raiding.I eagerly await the new Horde + Alliance era with less boundaries for everyone and the consequential next step, which has to be cross-faction guilds. This will be sorely needed if high end raiders from different factions are to be truly integrated in an organized raiding environment.
funny after they ruined the horde completely make them as a joke they decide no faction war anymore no bfa anymore they want to protect their precious alliance from getting ruined killed destroyed get the same treatment the horde get and they wonder why the people left the game ur changes will not bring people back u have a long way ahead to build the trust u willingly lost, blizzard.
Okay, so I know people are upset about the whole Faction War story not happening again, but I want people to actually read what was written in that article.
So, it became a HotS/Overwatch where the story is detatched from the game. People asked to move the story past the conflict point and change the game to go with, not to transform it into a HotS/Overwatch. Sure there are people that don't care about it, but most of them would also prefer WoW to be like that private server without classes and all that too..."It's not all that different from previous server restrictions either" - sorry but its a lot different than that. Can we at least keep going on this bandwagon and change achievements, reputations, etc. to be just like these other games (unified and account-wide)?
Blizzard reeks of despair... Cross faction... Now get rid of boosting and wow tokens.Give us a story we can stop cringing about.Keep fixing the IP you´ve ignored for the past 10 years. And maybe you´ll SLOWLY BEGIN to re attract the player base you´ve nonchalantly alienated
World of Carecraft
I`d say he`d better say "we failed to balance factions in competititve PVP and PVe. Alliance hall of fame stays unfinished for several months where Horde one is closed in 2 weeks tops. But worry not, we are not goint to fix factions or do anything about game balance. Instead we are going to allow alliance guild get horde raiders whether you like it or not. Also we add some marketing bull**t about representaion and ability to identify yourself with faction on the whim"Personnaly I`d like to see how they would do faction specific content, like quests to kill horde saboteurs or alliance spies, faction specific dungeons and raids, like Siege of Dazar'Alor etc. It is realy badly thought desision.
Please make cross faction guilds for 10.0, that's the most important thing of all. Half of my guild would instantly transfer to opposite faction if they could. Also try to figure out out world gameplay for cross faction as well. Being on a Horde dominated server as an Alliance means that all open world mobs will be tagged by Horde 90% of the time. Also ignore the idiots who are negative about these changes, they are not playing the game and they don't know what they are talking about.
I think its a really good change. The faction war is slowly coming to a close and both factions also slowly respect each other neutrally which I am fully in. And whoever gets salty over this, sorry not sorry, I may not speak for the majority but in my opinion you just don't like changes like THAT, since it's something YOU don't want tho many many people wished for that for YEARS (And I dont mean just RPers or whatever, but also people that do Dungeons or Raids). And you should also know, its just an OPTION, its not a FORCED thing. So don't cry like its the end of your life or whatever. The game changes, like most games do. Ofcourse the story goes into a somewhat weird way cause of SL RIGHT NOW and BfA was all about Faction War but went straight from A vs H, to Old Gods and THEN to Sylvanas being the worst of the horde. But damn just respect it. Horde & Alliance Wars are also just getting more and more meaningless as just killing people cause "My faction is cooler than your faction". Wanna feel like the old days? Go back to the classic servers or play Warcraft 1 2 & 3. Done deal.Tho it is a neat change, in my opinion, they should give an overall Cross-Faction option as a whole. Wanna play together in a group as horde and alliance? Go right in that mode and be in a mix up horde & alliance group all together. Since you can't do quests of the opposite faction, if you got a friend that is an Ally that has a lvl 10 but you are a lvl 20 Horde for example , you should still be able to help the alliance player with questing. Some for villages (No, not just Goldshire since I know that people will tell me "Haha For ERPers Haha") which if you opt-in, that you are friendly to the villages' NPCs and that they don't outright attack you. But you shouldn't be friendly with the CITIES' NPCs, but neutral, so that if you just outright attack a guard, that you will be put in a "Disrespectful" debuff, which will result in you being attackable by all the guards for atleast 5 or 10 minutes.I think that way, it's way more of a choice to play and help each other IF YOU WANT. But that, is just my opinion.
World of Peacecraft soon.
Alliance is dead and we have people complaining about a change that will help their Alliance friends. How #$%^ing selfish are you people? It's a good change!
Very excited to see these changes - it's been odd having all these expansions where at one point or another the factions work together to defeat common enemies but players never get to represent that constant change in any capacity in-game. Plus I really feel this helps the player base as a whole in doing all forms of content - I'm glad to be able to play with Alliance peeps in various content in the future.I really want cross-faction guilds to be a thing, I sincerely hope Blizzard adds this in and doesn't take forever to decide.I'm also wicked interested to see what Blizzard does with the story/writing with these new developments.
"Nah it was a sh!tshow obviously"
Honestly enforcing the faction divide after all this time is such a boomer concept. It's embarrassing they took this long to even consider moving on. The lore itself as set precedent for cooperation almost as much as it has for conflict at this point,so that's not a valid excuse. "Well it started as orcs vs humans" And? Time moves on. Countries that have been at war can now work together so long as progressive minded people are involved, why not in WoW? Honestly I haven't seen any valid argument against it that isn't just backwards logic. Even from a logistic standpoint, think of how much shorter queue times would be, a much more important factor with a continuously depleting player base.
