I'm fine with Cross-Faction Instances and Queing... but not at the cost of a story. BFA wasn't a faction conflict as it was more a grass-roots effort to stop Sylvanas for doing awful things. You could just say the Player Base itself is working off as their own faction of mercenaries and have no direct connection to the Alliance and Horde, yet they're also watching these two factions still hating each other. We all know that instances and raids have no direct connection to the Alliance and Horde's hatred for each other, and PvP is just is what it is... with no focus on a story and more so on just PvP itself. That's my feedback on the matter. You can still have the faction conflict, but have the player base be a neutral outside force that has no part of it. And I know the Horde and Alliance have to team up during raids, but that's really just for the players benefit. May as well just consider it a WoW Cold War where instead of directly fighting each other we might start smaller proxy wars.
Finally, I was waiting for this for many years!Sadly, I have already quit WoW. =(P.S. I think Blizzard also should allow to have cross-faction search in random auto search groups menu. Just add a check box to select mono faction or not...
I swear people that are upset about this either:A- Don’t even play the game.B- Don’t play on Alliance. And then the same people mention dumb reasons like “it’s called WARcraft” as well as using story as an excuse when literally almost every single raid the game had involved both factions working together against the enemy (even in BFA lol)As an Alliance player with 90% of my friends list having switched to the Horde at this point as well as being unable to find groups to do High M+ keys / rated BGs / Arenas without spending hours looking. (Example in some cases there is not a single premade group in Legacy Content while at the same time on Horde I need to scroll down to look between the large number of groups for what I’m looking for or manually type it in the search)I can only honestly say to you is simply suck it. Game’s better off without your mentality anyway 100%
narrative is so *!@#ed up now! faction conflict will be poor developed losing it for having fun will not hurt anymore
This is one of those changes that could make me re sub.Faction wars have been nonsensical since the end of Warcraft 3 since Horde and Alliance work together all the time at the end and you know even if the lore made sense throughout every single expansion it shouldn't transcend gameplay just in general that would be silly.I'm also, not going to pay money to swap from Alliance to Horde due to faction imbalance and my friends and guild mates swapping to Horde because the playerbase is healthier. That is one of the reasons I'm unsubbed now so I'm happy in the future I'd be able to do end game content with anyone rather than just my own faction.
People complaining this will "destroy a core pillar of Warcraft!" but I've seen what this "core pillar" brings.Extremists taking this video game way too seriously to the point where they demand the banning to the entire opposing faction's playerbase because they "burned Teldrassil," "nuked Theramore," and so on. I wish I was joking. So yeah, while I do still hope for a (part of) the Alliance starts so bad stuff expansion, this is no big loss to me. Watching all the edgelords getting butthurt over this is entertaining.
I love all the "well I dont wanna see X faction in my Stormwind or Orgrimar" like we dont spend all our time in shared neutral cities since TBC for a lot of the expansions anyways. I am almost never in my main faction town unless there is a holiday event.
I wish that they would add cross faction mailing not only for BOA stuff. Also they should consider to make the gold account wide or atleast realm wide. Same goes for the currencies and reputation.I like the idea of cross-faction gameplay. Maybe in the future if I could go to Stormwind with my tauren and not getting killed would be amazing. Maybe with Warmode Off or something like this. And if they could make the dungeon finder to use this that would be awesome!
This is a big fat "no" from me.
In terms of mechanics, it's overdue. The boundaries between Horde and Alliance players have long felt arbitrary against an otherwise wide-open community. In terms of lore, the timing may be good, as the story has been a mess with the BfA/Shadlowlands-era behind-the-scenes fallout. Shifting faction conflict to skirmishes could open doors for new loyalist campaigns and give the writers more flexibility for how and when they want to dip their toes into "Humans vs. Orcs" as a storyline instead of trying to shoehorn it in when it obviously does not gel with the current major plot line.
Please give us cross faction guilds. This change means nothing to me unless I can play with my guild.
Its Warcraft for a reason, at this point so glad i stopped playing ages ago, its dead Ip to me. The game needed a hard reboot years ago. 18 years of slapping crap together with zero foresight given. Ion is without a doubt the worst thing to happen to WoW , the reason Kaplan worked is he wasnt a fan of WoW he was fan of MMORPGS( ie EQ), that whole era of 2008 - 2012 swapping out the old guard for new was stupidity at its best.Blizzard needs to get rid of all dead wood devs and get back to basics, smaller, passionate, talented dev teams, who are actually paid decently, but i highly doubt that, just another overrated AAA gaming company.
Love how there are still people so unable to adapt their worldview that they think "players of the Horde and Alliance will be able to do raids together" means "we're literally removing all war from the game and it'll be a big happy PG13 playground from now on".Even leaving aside the fact there have been like twenty goddamn wars since Warcraft 3 that don't involve the Horde versus the Alliance, allowing the player characters to break the faction limitation doesn't mean the factions themselves are at peace.
Trying to make a simple thing meaninglessly complicated. Azeroth is no longer in the days of horde vs alliance, orcs vs humans. It is now the center of cosmic war and all lives on Azeroth are on the verge of total annihilation. It is no time for faction ^&*!$%^&ery, I thought that the factions were somewhat forced back when the game came out, it is even more forced now. Hore and Alliance can exist and should exist but as part of a greater Azeroth Alliance or something. This is no time for infighting and political !@#$@#$%ery.
Simple answer is to make cross faction servers, pvp servers, pve servers.
Focus on consolidating SoM servers and classic servers. High pop and Low pop.
Hopefully they are less conservative with ideas like this, they need more big shake up ideas like this, rather than doubling down on massive things the community doesn't want. I think they themselves will enjoy developing new interesting ideas consistently over reiterating the same tired stuff and creating these absurd ideas and systems they've forced into the game the last 3 expansions.
Honestly I hope they set it up as a 3 faction system.... it would make everything a lot more interesting having one faction with all of the races and people that wish to put the faction war aside, and the the Horde and Alliance factions remaining but being filled with those among the races and players that cannot /or will not let go of the past and their grudges and wish to continue the fight. It would appease all of the player base and would add another huge depth to the world with the potential for newer 3-way battlegrounds as the new faction seeks to defend their new way of life while trying to end the warring parts of the factions that remain as well as those remaining in the old factions trying to continue the fight whilst fighting with those the deem "betrayed" their faction by joining the new one.
