What a disappointing story end to a disappointing expansion.

Still not sure what the Jailer is talking about, did all he did and why he wouldn't tell his brothers and sisters?
I've still no idea what Sylvanas's motivation was?
Kind of funny to see all those "souls" cutting her down for what she did. They're in the afterlife, what does it matter anymore? How are there souls in Orbiros now anyway?
Why hasn't Tyrande spent her whole time, up till now, in the Maw rescuing souls?
The whole point of the Shadowlands is helping souls find redemption, etc. Why would you go to Tyrande for the punishment? I'm sure there have been a ton who've gone through the Shadowlands system who did worse than she has.
The Arbiter is supposed to judge souls and send them to the right place. And then the real work happens there. He's not supposed to ask some petty person like Tyrande what to do?

I really really had high hopes for Shadowlands. I loved the story from the start, the whole death and afterlife thing is super interesting. The way they split it up into the various Covenants (though extremely incomplete) is also interesting. As far as I was concerned they could have split it up until 10 patches going further and further into the story. Then, like they seem to do a lot, they just fell on their face.

This reminds me of WoD, though on a smaller scale. The WoD characters also seemed interesting, then they just failed at every aspect of fleshing them out.

It's fitting this last storyline awarded absolutely nothing (No gold, No rep, Nothing). It's also fitting that while watching the Arbiter related vid my game crashed...

Edit: While doing this across multiple toons one thing I noticed is you really want to walk around and talk to all the npc's. You get a good view of what they think of what's going on from different perspectives!

The main storyline of this expansion made me feel like i was on a rollercoaster and not from a good theme park but a traveling carnival that was setup behind an abandoned boarded up gas station.

If you accepted this quest on a prior day like I did, these other comments are useless. "Take the teleporter upstairs..." IN ORIBOS. The quest is not in ZM like the map suggests.

So basically Sylvanas's punishment is the same as Return Lost Souls that we've been grinding through every week. I guess that's fair. To Sylvanas that is, not sure what we did to deserve it.

Before you talk to Tyrande, you can speak to Slyvanas and get her thoughts on the situation, which are different for Alliance and Horde. More importantly, she has unique dialogue if you did the Banshee Loyalist quests back in Battle for Azeroth.

"<Name>. It is fitting that we share a few final words here, as I stand upon the precipice of judgment.
You have shown me loyalty time and time again, even when others spurned you for it. Even when my own actions did not merit such dedication.
I'm not certain what fate awaits me. But if one day I have need of trusted allies, I know that I can call upon you."

After the cutscene, the leaders of the Horde and Alliance are also still milling about Oribos before heading back. You can listen to some of their conversations.

Darion and Bolvar reflect that, without the Crown of Domination, the Scourge are still going to be running rampant across Azeroth, so the Knights of the Ebon Blade are going to be busier than ever.
Lorthemar approaches Genn about potential peace, but the Old Wolf is having none of it, utterly unwilling to make peace with the Horde.
Lorthemar then asks Baine if he would like to search the Shadowlands for a chance to talk to his dad. Baine responds that he dosen't need to. He knows that Carine is always with him, always has been and always will be.
Kleia is speaking with Pelagos back up at the Arbiter's Crucible where he reveals his new policy as Arbiter: 1. No more souls will ever go to the Maw. 2. Each soul will have a voice in which afterlife they end up. 3. Every cruel soul deserves a chance at redemption.
Alleria and Vareesa reflect on their sister's horrid actions, knowing things can never be how they used to be.
Finally, Genn speaks to Anduin. What the Jailer did has clearly traumatized Anduin to the point where he can no longer face his people. He decides to take some time for himself, while leaving Stormwind in Turalyon's hands.

Before starting the video with Tyrande, there are 14 people each of which have something interesting to say. Here is my favorite:
Jaina:

Hatred is a cycle, <player>. One that is all to easy to perpetuate. And forgiveness does not come easily to those who have been wronged.

Years ago, I implored others to set aside their grievances and bring that cycle to an end. Only now, after so much has happened, do I grasp the enormity of what I was asking.

Hatred and guilt have haunted me, as they have so many others. I still believe the cycle can be broken, though it takes relentless effort... and a great deal of time

Description

When I became the new Arbiter, I vowed to myself that I would listen to those around me, to take their counsel into consideration before passing eternal judgment. I have an inkling of what Tyrande intends for Sylvanas. Her fury is tempered by wisdom, and I trust in the decision she has made. Meet her in the Ring of Transference and see her judgment come to pass.
