Weird change. Making the game around raiders is what made WoW boring in the first place.
Draenor had mentality "raid or die" and we all know how it turned out... why do people think taking away only other way of high end gearing will turn out differently?

For someone who pushed M+ on early BFA for joy and fun, this is so sad news, sure getting gear upgrades along the way felt good too, but given the amount of progressive pushing my team did back then, we never did it for loot, but getting good trinket every 20th run made every 25th run successful progress. Heroic raid difficulty cannot be compared to M+15, not even close to, raiding outside Mythic difficulty is a complete joke.Besides everything that BFA got wrong, I felt like M+ was one thing they got right, removing that from SL too. I'm having a really hard time seeing any positives in SL, have they really outdone themselves and actually managed to pull off the next worst expansion?--Before M+ we had gold challenge modes(MoP>WoD), I completed both of those in the first 2 weeks of the expansion launch. I was not in a high-end raiding guild neither of two launches so for me there was no natural progressive path to go, unlike M+ that offered me chance to build my own team and experience high-end progressive content with like-minded and skilled players. Sure M+ is still present in SL, but in order for me to compete on higher-end M+ progress, I'm forced to pug a heroic every week at a very minimum which is not going to happen. Mythic raid loot being superior to M+ loot is acceptable, but heroic loot being superior to M+ is just so sad, so sad.What an irony that most of the people who spammed M+ for gear (at least during BFA pre-season) were also very high in M+ rank because not every week is push week, what else do you think those folk would do during those weeks?--This news could possibly end up being turn down for expansion for me, I really enjoyed M+ but I really don't want to be forced to raid just to keep up with gear level.
Good. I don't particularly care if people don't want to raid to get the best gear. Fact of the matter is that's how MMO's work. Dungeons should always get lower level gear than raids. Period. This is the way it's always worked, and that's the way it should stay. If you don't like it then... just stick to dungeons. Your gear is good enough for dungeons. And if you don't like raiding there is no reason to have an ilvl high enough for the top end content.
This is actually a great change. My favorite part of an expansion (and start of tiers) is the gearing process. It always felt weird to spam Mythic+ content the first few days and get full Heroic ilvl loot. The Heroic ilvl loot + weekly chest sped up loot acquisition way too much for me personally.

Absolute trash game design, the content is undeniably more difficult and thus should reward better gear. You are discouraging core gamer's from participating and are making a popular aspect of your game less competitive, less appealing and less attractive to not just players in general but people who enjoy watching competitive PVE content. Raids are antiquated and needlessly demanding of player time and in the current gaming climate destined for little growth. You are shoehorning a large subset of your player base, that feels the desire to compete, into participating in an aspect of your game that frankly is just unfulfilling. Respect player time!
I'm confused, why are people mad about Mythic + ilvl....You can run mythic plus literally all week. Why would you think its fair/makes sense that raiding which is locked, should give equal or worse? Stop complaining for the sake of complaining.Let loot be loot and maybe Blizzard will make interesting items again where your main concern is not it's ilvl and becomes the fact that you have it at all. I want to be able to remember the name of the items I'm wearing because they were that interesting.

This just shows how ^&*!@#ed blizz is. No matter if the ilvl of raid loot is a tiny bit higher. We all know they create a chart on which bosses to kill by what characters and what setup. They will still do it coz' it gives them a little edge. I'd be honestly grateful if they FINALLY stopped trying to $%^& the bleeding edge over and just let them be. They want to nolife for 2 weeks? So what. They just come up with #$%^ that will effect everyone, not just them...

I've been having this unpopular opinion of being optimistic about Shadowlands so far, but this changed my mind...It's a thoughtless, dangerous, and desperate move for blizzard. Problem: content A lacks player base.Correct solution: improve content A.Incorrect solution: nerf rewards of content B so hopefully we can force players to do content A.
Heroic raiding is a joke, +15 keys should give higher gear than heroic and +20 keys should give mythic raiding quality gear. Just because Ion is a casual and has raided with his sole friend group for 15 years doesn't mean he has to ruin the experience for people who actually know how to play the game
