All these agitated PvPers, it's hilarious. Imagine wanting others to forcefully play the content you do. This is why PvErs don't want to play beside you. Stay mad and stay in your lane.
Just need to hard nerf PvE gear in PvP combat and it's perfect. And yes, it's needed.
Since some people saying it's a good change lets now make it the other way around as well. PvE item level goes down if engaged in PvP activities.
This is the best change they could have made. My pvp gear should make me stronger in pvp, but it should never be the same as raiding gear. All of 9.0 people have been grinding pvp to boost their ilvl to help their struggling guilds clear the raid. I think doing a little bit of everything -should- benefit you, but not to the point where one gearpath makes another obsolete. Pvp gear is -still- good in pve, just not the best. Pve gear is -still- good in pvp, just not the best.
If you actually do both PvE and PvP, you will automatically gear twice. I swear people never think and are just de facto salty with whatever system is implemented. I bet you're one of the people literally complaining about current PvP because of ilvl and when they fix it you're mad that you actually have to gear through whatever content you're doing in order to progress in it. If you are full duellist in 9.1 that will give you full heroic raid ilvl when you PvE. That is enough to do +15s. That is enough to enter a Mythic raid. Why would you even bother doing PvE content if you already have gear that equals or surpasses it without ever having done it before? You just make no sense.
This change is nice, but I still find it strange that there is no pve counterpart. I mean these ilvl are not for our current season right ? Because if it is then it is fine, but if it isn't that means that you will probably get 213 ilvl from the base pve content and you can use it with an equivalent power in pvp. It could also be 207 ilvl to get an in between and so follow the philosophy behind this system. If not then I really don't understand what they are planning to do by doing these change...
This makes sense. PvPers that only do pvp should have the better PvP gear. PvE players will have the better PvE gear. "Yeah but I want to do both". Cool, do both. "I don't want to have to get gear for both." Cool, don't do both. very simple.
Omg.... Just make versatility the same as is was in lichking ! pve players wont be able to 1 shot pvpers and opposite... Stop this unfair system ! I hate when some pve noob killing me,just because he does pve stuff... THAT IS UNFAIR !
I would keep the current pvp-pve balance and add the Ilvl bonus to pvp items in pvp situations.But...I would only put two ranges of Ilvl increase in pvp, one for the honor items and one for the conquest items. It is illogical for someone from a lower league to compete to ascend with those of the higher one, they have 2 barriers, the first the skill and the second which is quite unfair is the Ilvl. There is no sport in which you compete with the next league to get promoted, get promoted the best in your league. And to reward people who get promoted and work on it, I would put new more trasmogs, enchants and mounts, which is a better incentive than Ilvl.
Finally. I don't want to be forced to do pvp anymore, I hate it. Wow allows you to focus on the content you enjoy, that's the entire premise of MMO. If you enjoy PVP, get good in PVP and gear from PVP, if you enjoy PVE, get good in PVE and you'll get geared in PVE. For all the people who cry about not having a shortcut anymore, well that was broken, hope you enjoyed it as long as it lasted : )
