I see nothing wrong with having a bare bones expansion if it means focusing on making the core of it (i.e., talents, professions) as best as it can be and setup in a way that future proofs it for several expansions. If they decided to take two or three expansions to build the game back up to what made it great I would have no issues with that. DF focuses on talents, professions, leveling and zone experience. Maybe next expansion focuses more on secondary professions, building out what was done in DF more or fine tuning it and then adding additional things from there.
Microsoft will give them all the people and money needed
Since nobody knows when did thex started the development, and howmany content we have in what satatus that are not in the alpha yet, its pritty much a point less guessing.
Of course it will, why wouldn't it be? The only people who think it won't are the usual doomers who will grasp at anything to be negative about the game and the devs. New expansion every 2 years is something you can always count on.
People need to chill. They are probably not putting out all the content at once on alpha because ... they want people to actually test focused portions. If you let a client just test Willy nilly you get a lot of useless feedback that is scattered. They said they’ve been developing this since shadowlands launched. Just because the announcement and the release date are close together means NOTHINGPeople are over analyzing this way too much.
What does the Endgame look like? You can raid LFR - Mythic. You can do M+ dungeons. You can do pvp, rated or normal. You can do world quests. You can earn faction rewards by doing specific quests. There are some dailies out there too.Work on your crafting. There we have it.This thing will be ready by November
There’s a lot different in Dragon Flight’s case, and hopefully I’m right. It isn’t the same Blizzard now that it’s owned by Microsoft. They’ve hired more developers and have a lot more tools, assets, and manpower now. So far, it’s been a good experience seeing the changes they’ve made. I think they also realized their fan base was done with the old Blizzard ways when millions of subs went away. Who knows, fingers crossed they’ve learned a valuable lesson and Microsoft set them up for success.
there's nothing wrong with more content, the issue was that Blizzard would make new expansion content and tie said content directly to player power or weekly checklist or some other stupid system, thus making the new content a chore. imagine if Torghast in SL had nothing at all to do with legendaries/weeklies/player power, and was just a large rogue-like tower that you could go whenever you wanted and get some reward from it. That's what new content should be like.having a barebones expansion is not a good thing, Blizzard should be introducing new content or using old expansion content more than one expansion. Again, imagine if we had a torghast content for DF that was purely optional or we had islands/warfronts/mage tower/MoP farming and so on that were all optional content, with updates made for DF. people praising DF for being barebones cause of the way Blizzard handled new systems/content of Legion/BFA/SL is the wrong mindset. We should not be celebrating having to pay for a full expansion + sub for a barebones expansion, we should want and demand new content/bringing forward of old content but make Blizzard not tie any of those systems/content to player power/weekly checklists/choresthe fact is that endgame for DF is literally just: Raid/m+/pvp, and many people don't engage in all three of those, most just do the one thing... so what else is there? the open world content is just world quests that no one likes and some factions stuff that we still haven't seen anything of despite there being 4-ish months left to release.___________________________________________as for rushing, clearly it is being rushed cause we are only in the early alpha time with just 4-ish months to release. That's not a lot of time at all to finish alpha, listen to feedback, start beta, listen to feedback while still completing the clearly unfinished content/systems of the expansion e.g. how are talent trees still being developed/created this close to releasethe PR of "oh we were working on DF before SL released" is just that, PR. Every expansion in wow's history has some development of future expansions happening before the latest one is released. And most of that work is just conceptual, planning, story stuff.
Will it release? Yes.Will it be finished? haha
Make it so no characters can go to Dragonflight content until they complete all 4 covenant questlines on at least one character. Then release a year later. That would be great as so many players just rush through things.
