I love the idea of support classes. Playing Archon and Bard in Rift was a total blast imo.I hope it works out similar to those concepts.
Am I crazy for thinking that Augmentation feels like an obvious choice for a tank spec? Being able to buff dps while focusing on taking the brunt of hits seems like a way more viable design choice than sacrificing 1 of your group’s dps to provide buffs for everyone else (when they can). Since it’s a bronze-oriented spec as well they could tie-in the design of delayed damage as their main form of self-preservation instead of the more common ways tanks avoid damage: armor, shields, outright healing, etc. It would certainly provide a unique tank identity that plays well off of the class identity as a whole. Maybe incorporating group buffs into defensive stances would help simplify their rotation so they don’t have to worry about managing single-target buffs while maintaining aggro.I also want to mention that redesigning it as a support spec would also be more viable than a dps, but I think having dracthyr cover every major base would play into the idea of them carrying universal powers. I think having a tank that has less of a focus on damage compared to other tanks and instead focuses on buffing the rest of the party would be a great way to give tank players a change of pace somewhat.
Great write up; thank you!
