I knew this was gonna happen and that the endgame of Augmentation Evoker would be disappointing. It's fun and a breath of fresh air for the game to add a Spec that focuses more on buffing your allies but the fact that this Spec is a DPS Spec is what makes it so bad. If the Spec was a Healer Spec with some healing combined with the damage dealing playstyle to buff allies, now that makes more sense as a Healer you are not expected to do high dps like the other dedicated dps specs. Take Disc Priests for example or Fistweaving Monks, they don't do insane dps yet no one calls them out on it because they aren't expected to do high damage. You take a spec that is suppose to be a "dps" spec yet does the same damage as a Tank or a little more and you got problem on your hand finding a spot in high keys if the buffs they give aren't that grand to almost replace a dps slot in the party. Even an Augmentation Tank Spec more sense than a DPS Augmentation Spec. From the beginning Augmentation would make more sense being a Healer Spec since it revolves around a group playstyle. And yeah, what if the 2 dps or 1 dps die in your M+ group? Now your entire Spec is useless because the dps died and there is no one to buff O.OAgain, this is not Final Fantasy, this is not Guild Wars or what ever other MMORPG Game where a DPS Support Spec works.
Too many comments to read through :pI wonder if/what effect their auto-targetting AI, because it must use some sort of basic deciding AI, will have on Fistweaving Monks and our auto-targetting healing. Maybe they'll learn some new things having a spec working in a similar way. It'd be nice having more true smart healing instead of 40-60% overhealing as spells just go all over the gaff.
I honestly expect this to be the first of multiple support speccs being added to the game. This is an experiment and they see it as the opportunity to release it now and refine before doing more.Regardless of how this pans out, expect next expansions gameplay hook to be additional speccs for the other classes, with a big chunk of them being either support based in some capacity, and filling a role not typically seen by that class (tank shamans for instance I fully expect to see, based on damage mitigation buffs similar to how aug is multiplying damage)
Did wowhead really have to get the guy who was about to sue someone for using the name 'Preheet'"everyone makes mistakes' doesnt work here, that wasnt a mistake, that was a deliberate malicious attempt at intimidation.
Seems dull.
Wasn't Preheat the one who sued the guy nicknamed Preheet a few years ago? This is so sad.
*Giggles as a Healer* I'm in Danger
Whole idea of DPS as augmenting your allies is great and that was the thing I was waiting for. We lack that type of playsets in WoW, the only one similar is Disco Priest. And there is a major difference: Disco Priests heal through DPS, and support via shields. Marked as healer.Augmentation Evokers don't heal/shield as much, instead they buff allies by various things. Marked as DPS.Now that make one certain conflict: as DPS class and doing solo content you are lackuster in terms of damage. As M+ content you are reliable source of damage boost, defensives, and healing boosters. So DPS without dps / DPS with dps but from other sources mode. Kinda.. weird spot.I don't have access to PTR for now, but I wonder how's Augmentation DPS is compared to Preservation. I know, I know. Changing spec is a solution.. but when you compare those two, new-DPS and Healer in terms of killing monsters (for quests only, because rest is group content anyway) I wonder how much damage difference there is. For me Healer option is in "OK" spot and enough for "do some daily, go on M+" people.
I appreciate what they're going for, and aesthetically it's my favorite of the three - but I don't see it lasting long. I expect it to be entirely reworked into a true DPS or a healer by next expansion. WoW is just not made for a support DPS in mind unlike a game like FF14.
Extremely bloody boring rotation. Like, braindead boring. If you thought Dev Evoker was too simple, well this thing will put you to sleep in 30 seconds flat.
with the mentallity that mythic and damage-meters specially has created i think they will be the least used spect in the game
Just here to say #$%^ Preheat for that childish ass C+D bull!@#$, find someone with better ethics to cover wow for you in this manner.
Blizzard should just copy FFXIV class system if they're trying so hard to replicate FFXIV jobs. Let us change classes whenever we want.
