Tank is support. Do black dragonflight tanking!
this is extremely interesting! would love for this to be true! a "support" role is interesting and could fit several future potential classes, like Bard!
This is dangerous, if the spec is defined as a buffer, being the only one in game will make it mandatory on raids
If that was the case the patch preview would mention it.
It just sounds like healing or doing dmg for the question not buffing
Bard in WoW would be really toxic especially if there is only one. It's just not built around that and trying to crowbar that into any content that runs groups smaller than 10 player won't be fun. Either the Bard will be useless and nobody will want to take them or they'll be mandatory. And if they do the weird thing where their buff dps shows as their own dps it's gonna feel real weird that their performance is tied to other people more than themselves. That's a no from me dog.
It really needs to be a tank spec tanks have the least amount of options they have 6 healers have 7 dps have over 20 plus its literally the most unique race ever added and 1/3rd of the player base is locked from getting to play it so add a tank spec to Evokers or let Dracthyr be other races like a warrior or death knight (death knight because lich king is a DK infused with a ton of dragon powers so lorewise it can make sense)
I know this is going to sound crazy but what about an Evoker tank spec? What about something that makes the dragon race feel like a dragon? Like you're Onyxia battling through a swarm of hapless raiders? Every spec of Evoker just feels like I'm in Skyrim playing a spell-casting Argonian. Surely there's room for something that actually feels like a dragon in this class? Even with the mechanics they use, like you could have an ability that charges up and gives you a hot, the longer you charge the shorter the hot, but for the duration of the charge you take 70% reduced damage or something. There's plenty of room for creativity for a dragon-themed spec for their dragon-themed class. So bizarre to see what little it is they've settled on.And don't get me started on the Soar/Dragonriding separation...
Hell no, if we're getting a 3rd Evoker spec it better be a Dragon Knight/tank spec...
I remember how shaman offered much support by way of our totems all the way through WotLK and it was an aspect of the class that I'd always enjoyed. Then the BlizzCon announcing MoP rolled around and good ol' Ghostcrawler was quite pleased during a class panel to say that shaman would no longer basically be -- and I quote -- "buff $%^&*es".Having mained a shaman since the beginning at that time (and even still today!), it was quite insulting. To my knowledge, he has never apologized for that comment.
Hey Blizzard this is a @#$%ing awesome idea Being able to discover new specs thru quests or some #$%^ is really creative thinking and i really admire this change that you are trying for classes and hope it happens more with classes in the future
To anyone suggesting they are just flat out adding a new spec, they likely had NDA and internal tests prior to DF launch if there was a new Evoker spec on the horizon. I seriously doubt they would just throw a spec together on the fly and just toss it in the mix. If it is a new spec, I would personally LOVE to see a tanking caster spec focused around Black Dragon/Earth Dragon spells.
I don't think they could add just ONE support spec. If it turned out to be good, it would be needed in every single raid comp and m+ group, and if it were bad, no one would play it. There would need to be an overhaul of maybe at least 6 classes getting a support spec so that there would be options to choose from and the balancing to make sure they aren't OP or pure garbage would be quite the undertaking.Overall I don't think a support role really fits in WoW as it is. If it were part damage, part healer, you'd just end up with less damage and more healing than what is needed. We already have a dps that can off heal and healers already try to squeeze in damage when possible. In the very middle you have something like disc priest and mistweaver. Perhaps Evoker will be the next priest, having 2 healer specs.
If it's not a tank spec. Don't bother.
That's great. When do Demon Hunters get to remember their third spec?
I want Dracthyr to get more classes, not another spec for Evoker.
