they need to tune it
Time to get that sweet, sweet Priest mog.
LOVE IT, now I can get the missing sets and work towards tower overwhelming! Had a !@#$ ton of fun before, love the challenges
Lot of people saying "git gud" lol.. what challenge? they were so easy on legion with at least 1 lego.. ofc the first week was hard but some people still do it with more than 300 wipes .. i finished guardian one on less than 30 attempts while 26 where without any old expac item, and 4 with a farmed set and still thinking about how hard was the tower this time without any help.. also farming old trinkets and pots make it a bit easier, but still needing some "perfect" timing actions.. this didnt happen on live MT while legion still as expansion , it took me at least 45 trys but because i was new and i started playing on the last breath of legion, im sure that other players who player the whole expac as druid could get them on less attempts..So, dont tell others "git gud" while the MT is not correctly tuned. (some clases cheesed a lot of mecs while others are struggling to finish MT ). And remember, not everyone can be a PRO as u think .. (BTW this content is suposed to be "friendly" with casuals as blizzard stated it while whe got TM MT for first time..) And i still seeing a lot of casual wiping even doing things good.. Damage are overtuned on some class challenges.Im going to try my last 3 classes now :) time to farm things just to do a content made for "casuals" who dont have time or gold to do it.
Another content is going to collect dust with that tuning
Some people have a hard time understanding that something being properly tuned doesn't necessarily mean it is LESS of a challenge, it merely makes it so it is more balanced for classes that clearly have it harder than others. Many people complained about how challenges like Xylem had abilities hitting way harder than they did back in its' original iteration most likely now due to scaling issues, same with Agatha ending up with way more HP than intended. Peeps reaaaally just get set off by others giving feedback on the experience as it is now, and many of the people bringing these things up actually did the challenges back then and therefore can tell the difference (and I am talking about mage tower pre Antorus). If I had to guess, people saying "git gud" are doing it for the meme and haven't cleared the challenges yet to begin with. If some classes practically need some old gear farming for it to be viable, then it is not properly tuned. People go out of the way to make the challenge more manageable for a reason, otherwise they would just be using their normal gear/level appropriate enchants and gems. Two crusader enchanted weapons on Agatha for Fury warriors is a GREAT HELP and you know it. That is a way to cheese it and make the challenge "easier", but apparently asking for some tuning is the actual problem.
I already have my paladin appearance, maybe I'll get the warrior and druid one, last time my attempts were at 10%. u.uSo then I'll wait for some nerf or another broken trinket to get the others and get the mount. HeheheIt took me over 200 tries on paladin, while on Legion I got it under 80. Druid I got it on under 50, and nowadays I'm near 100 tries. My 8 year old computer and my 400ms latency doesn't help. XD"hur dur git gud hur dur"These challenges are just about memorizing everything that happens and hoping you don't have any lagspike.Error and repetition.Until you get everything right.Nothing else. It's more tedious than challenging. Imo Torghast was much more intersting. But I'm a mount and xmog lover, so I'll try all of them, even the classes I never played, thing that I didn't do in Legion. And it's a great opportunity to sell old reagents! :D
nerf the xylem encounter, the damage he spams its just too much
Now that the MT is open permanently there's no need to nerf the challenges. If average casual players completed the book mount in 2 weeks, then others can do it in much bigger amount of time. There's gonna be content drought until 10.0, so maybe people will finally take time to learn their classes.
They aleady got the FOMO subs at the end of last year, makes sense to make it permanent now. It's a classic Blizzard move.
Most people that got it last time used some broken Weapon enchants, trinkets, and etc, some of which have been nerfed now. Wouldn't call that legit. It's not even impressive to see people with the mount, or bear form now, knowing they most likely got it by using broken gear, and not skill or knowledge of the class/spec.
I have the book + I even completed some others just for the mog (9 armors total), and I've also done majority of them in Legion so noone can say 'git gud' for me, my opinion however is that it should have been just a tad easier on the tuning. And I'm not talking about the mechanics that 1 shot or anything, just purely the dps / hps or output aspects of it. Obviously it's not impossible, since I have the book, but it discouraged me to complete it on the last 3 I'm not so comfortable with, or even do the Tower overwhelming because I won't set foot in it again. The perfect tuning would be very early TOS. Challenging, but doable once you got the hang of it. What I mean by that, let's give proper examples:- Floor being covered to do the last inch during the healer challenge. This is something that didn't happen in Legion. The hp of the boss should be reduced abit so there is some breathing room. You also have to dps quite hard on this phase in order to make it. Also comparing the difficulty from a resto shaman / resto druid vs holy priest here, just bench it. - Tugar and the worm having way too much hp for discipline priest and warlock for example. Compare WW monk vs disci priest for example, not even comparable.- The 3 rune bois having such a tight dps check, you literally can't perma stun / repentence / blind / poly the Boon caster. You have to break it & cleave to meet the check, otherwise you are a toast. It wasn't such a hassle back in Legion.- Agatha adds + her having way too much hp for melee classes. Fire mage / ele shaman one shot the adds, while dks and warrios, let alone outlaws have to spend a few GCDs on them to get rid of them.- Xylem having absolutely too much hp, especially the shadow add which is nothing but a dps race. Had to cheese with my main (DH), I just wasn't making the dps check.- Raest & Karam being absolutely mindblowing for aff lock and shadow priests, while hunter and frost mage basically having a laugh.- Adds on P1 of Kruul. As a DH / guardian, maybe 2 trashes + roar and 1 spirit bomb + 1 infernal + 1 sigil cleared them, while on DK I just couldn't clear them fast enough, and no way to handle the stun. Kruul hp in general. Some tanks have way more dps, others lack. BDK being absolutely the worst, I easily killed it on vdh, guardian took maybe 30 attempts, while I just called it quits on my BDK.There are more examples, but it's just my take.
I hope we don't see any significant nerfs (or any, tbh). Now that it's permanent and there isn't the stress of trying to do it in a week.
No it's not, it's cosmetic rewards, not Mythic raid gear. Only tryhards think it has to be so hard for cosmetic rewards.
