Apotheosis (from Greek ἀποθέωσις from ἀποθεοῦν, apotheoun "to deify"; in Latin deificatio "making divine"; also called divinization and deification) is the glorification of a subject to divine level. The term has meanings in theology, where it refers to a belief, and in art, where it refers to a genre.

In theology, apotheosis refers to the idea that an individual has been raised to godlike stature. In art, the term refers to the treatment of any subject (a figure, group, locale, motif, convention or melody) in a particularly grand or exalted manner.

As of 9.0.2, I have tested this popular talent spell and its primary function is:

Instantly reset the cooldown of Holy Word: Serenity, the insta-cast emergency heal.

Apotheosis also has other functions during its 20-second winged holy form:

Each cast of Heal and Flash Heal reduces the cooldown of Holy Word: Serenity by 24 secs, instead of 6 seconds.
Holy Word: Serenity, Holy Word: Sanctify, and Holy Word: Chastise cost no mana. (The pronoun "their" in the tooltip refers to "Holy Words," not "cooldown reductions.")

This makes Apotheosis an excellent spell during heavy party- or raid-wide health loss.

While most Holy Priest would spam Flash Heal during the 20-second holy form, keep in mind that Apotheosis does not reduce the mana cost of the Flash Heals at all. Therefore, if mana is a concern, you would still want to be conservative with the Flash Heals. And you would want to take advantage of a no-mana-cost Holy Word: Sanctify.

If your action bars are too full (most Holy Priests' are), you can combine Apotheosis and Power Infusion into a single macro. Currently, they are both 2-min cooldown. Apotheosis triggers GCD and Power Infusion does not. Just remember to use it often to overcome the negative effect of occasionally sub-optimal Power Infusion casts (on self instead of on the raid member that can make better use of it):
