This quest cant be soloed due to the caster elites that are stationsed abou the abby. the pally guards are easy but you will need help when it somes to the scarlet enchanters.

One thing that can cut back on some time is if you've completed the quest to get The Sacred Defender. (Horde side)

The Blightcaller should have given you an apple that disguises you as a member of the Scarlet Crusade. Assuming you did the quest correctly, the apple should have four charges remaining on it. If you've kept it around, you can activate it, and then run in.

You'll still have to kill some people, but you won't have to fight your way in and risk an unnecessary death.

Well it is soloable if you are lvl 60 and protspec as well.
I ran in and died inside the room.
I then ran back and revived near the doorentrance where i would not aggro.
I then summon my mechanical yeti and looted the vial while he was killed, then i shielded and fled.
I died in the process of fleeing as well, but mostly due to the fact that i got lost in there and pulled about a bazillion mobs...

Soloed as a 61 prot pally. Never died. Bandages and one potion came in handy. It's all about resistances and waiting out the damage for me. You can run throughout almost the entire area before the abbey without aggroing a single mob. Timing is the key, but this is easy mode if you have your wits about you.

The Tyr's Hand Abbey is the first building on your left as you enter Tyr's Hand. It is not the small chapel looking building to the right of the Boss building.

As soon as you enter take the left turn. You will pass a small cubby with two mobs inside that will aggro. Kill them. The next room you will get to has a couple bookcases, 2 mobs, and a stairway going up. Go to the right side of that room, through the doorway, and you will be in the library wing.

There will be 3 mobs in that room, so be prepared for a fight. The exact coordinates I have standing on top of the holy water at this time are 83.6,77.6 (using Cartographer mod). The holy water is unmistakable, its a bowl on the table with glowing blue liquid swirling inside it.

8300 Experience at level 60.

When I tried, there was one enchanter and two clerics, and they were almost certainly not soloable as a 60 holy paladin, using every cooldown in the book.

Soloed as a level 60 protection pally. i would advise you take some potions with you, and make sure your cooldowns are all set before going into the last room.

Soloed as a 62 holy spec. Cleared my way to the water and found one cleric and two enchanters. Jumped in and started wailing on the cleric (using the sexy 2h Hellreaver from Ramparts), sparing HoJ and Arcane Torrent to stop heals. The cleric went down and I was able to run outside and de-aggro the two enchanters. Healed and mana'd up, then went back in to finish the job. :) Didn't need to bubble or LoH.

Done with a 61 Holy Paladin in my healing gear...4.660 hp 6.416 mana.

First I took off my equips and searched the room, two deaths to find it.
Then I rezed some yd way to not get aggro, putted on my healing gear and drank water.
Then I went, I spammed consecration and seal of righeteous and holy shock on the "mage", when I got him to low health I knew the other guys were about to heal them, but when I was near casting arcane torrent he got healer, I stopped focussed on him again and when they were about to heal him I casted arcane torrent. and killed him.
This part was a bit bad cuz I got downed to 200 hp when I my holy light casted. The "Priests" were now about 25% life, holy shcoked one attacked, selected the other then did hammer of justice killed 1 and the other one was easy.

soloed 63 ret pally! all i did was really pull smart. i pulled all the first groups outside so i didn't get any added pulls and dpsed away. going inside and finding the water was easy i had three healers so they kept healing each other. 1 pot and 1 bubble bandage and i got the water. GL

Soloed as a 61 holy pally. Just burned everything down in 2s and threes. Took out clerics first with shock and righteousness judges. Spammed consecrate. Used Divine shield on each group of three guys.

Soloed as a 61 Protadin 19/33/0. Basically what everyone said - As you enter Tyr's hand it's the building on the left. Go inside the building and turn left you should see bookcases, follow them. Then there's a bowl of water on a table with 3 adds guarding it. I just ran in, bubbled and died then rezzed and took on the 3 mobs, keeping up JoW and SoW and healing when needed. I outsurvived them, got the item and Hs'd the hell out of there. Easily soloable, even for a level 60 Protadin or holy.

Confirmed, this works. Made it to front door of building on pally, died, rezzed out of aggro in library. Logged in as 69 druid, stealthed into library, cleared it. Logged onto pally, got water and ran out.

When running out, bubble out of building until leaving combat, then bandage up, mount up, and ride into sunset.

Oh, 60 holy pally. After making it through to front of the building, I didn't even try to clear my way to the room. Wouldn't have worked for a holy pally, i don't think.

At lvl 68 (yea, im a slacker) i was able to Loot the Holy Water Without Agroing. I'm not sure at what lvl this can be done though.

Just did this quest as lvl 62 prot paladin. No fancy stuff, just cleared the way in there and killed the 3 mobs guarding the holy water.

Start with the enchanter, since he goes down fast, and the clerics doesn't seem to heal him.

I got lucky!

As soon as I rode into Tyr's Hand, I saw a level 70 Alliance riding out on a Raven Lord mount.
I entered the Abby and it was completely cleared.

Not sure why a 70 Warrior cleared the Abbey (there was no one else around), but I was able to run in, loot the water, and run out. Completed the quest without even entering combat! :D

I soloed this with my 61 retribution paladin, with the polearm from the last boss in Hellfire Ramparts. I focused on killing the healers first and did it without dying.

Lily is right with the loaction but ehm, as a lvl 62 you can pretty much sneak through the whole castle to the quest-item which is at >83,77< (Standing on it atm).

As as a 62 Holy Paladin I just outhealed 3!! clerics which has about 6,2k HP each. So no point in running in and dying, just kill. Mobs are lvl 52-56.

After reading lilbuffy's comment,that gave me an idea. I Logged out my pally really close to the Abby. Logged in with my 70 Tauren Shaman and cleared out where I needed to go. Logged back in with my Pally. Walked in, looted, walked out. So thanks lilbuffy.

Actually, if you read the tooltip to Curaser Aura and Pursuit of Justice you'll notice they both say, "This does not stack with other movement speed increasing effects".

In fact, this is true for all movement speed increasing effects in the game from trinkets, auras, talents and enchants. Only the fastest increase will be used.

Just soloed as a 60 prot pala with 4.8k HP (Kings on). Basically I nuked the healer then kited the casters around the book case that you hide behind (if you ressed in like most people do).

It was hard, took me a lay on hands and bubble but it's do able!

As a 60 Ret with only 3.7k/3.5k I solo'd my way thru the 2 pulls easily, but getting into the last room with 3 clerics was too much, before I could dps even 1 of them below 50% hp, his buddies healed him... I am now seeking a friend to help me... /sigh

Pretty easy solo as a 66 retadin; only tricky part is the final fight with 3 53-54 elites, but managed it with a single Mad Alchemist's potion and a bubble.

Soloed as a 63 prot. Ok easy enough to get in and all just try to keep ur health up, when u get to the room with the 3 guys in it, I used Avengers shield, Stuned and went from there AoE isn't much good because there elites but try to take out the first one heal urself take out the second and heal when needed, Also try to stop them from healing one another with Arcane Torrent.

I would suggest if ur not prot to get someone to help u.

First time I did it I did suicide run on to the plate, logged on my main, cleared the room. logged back on my pali rezed and looted.

I was on a low pop server, wasn't really low pop just sounds better then unhelpful lazy asses :P

so yeah ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

Never finished this quest chain on that pali could never get anyone to help wth strat. Now on a new server I literally cannot but a PBD or Dark Rune. /sigh

Bah, that wasn't nearly as hard as you all made it sound ;) Fresh level 60 prot paladin. Just don't take more than one at a time and you'll be fine. I got a bit unlucky in the water room, though. Two mages and a priest :F Took the priest out first, and by then the other two were about 50% HP anyway. Potion, Lay on Hands, bubble, etc. They weren't that hard.

Wow, this is pretty simple. Location is right. For a Tankadin this is easy, same way you AoE Grind, Use seal of Light judged and Cast, torrent when near dead, but if you're taking out the healer first HoJ works great too. Spam your Consecrate, a potion, maybe LoH. But as someone stated before the Yeti is a easy and fun way as well.

Just solo'd as a 60 ret pally in Hellfire green's (and 1 hellfire blue)(rest were pre-OL greens/blues).
Here's what i did...
Rode my mount in freely until i got to the building the Holy Water is being held in. (as soon as you come in, it is a big building to the left ~ 82,80 )
Dismounted, stripped naked, ran inside towards the room and let them kill me.
Spirit walk back and res in the Holy Water room ( far left room, go through the doorway, don't take the steps upstairs) between the Bookcase and the Wall (you won't aggro).
Re-gear then heal and drink up, also cast Blessing of Light (more heal for your mana) on yourself and activate Concentration Aura (for easier healing).
That got you in the room easily... but now you have to solo 3 elite casters (Could be Enchanters or Clerics or a combination of them, mine was 3 Enchanters).
It's not hard if you be SURE to use your cooldowns, Arcane Torrent, Divine Shield (Don't use BoP because they are casters and it doesn't stop spells), Hammer of Justice, Repentance (I Didn't need to use LoH but don't be afraid to if you need to), and a Super Healing Potion.
Pull them with Mana Tap and duck back behind the bookcase so you can Line of Sight them into you.
Go on the side of the bookcase (inside) and let them pile up on you.
Just burn one down as fast as you can using Repentance when he tries to cast. (Divine Shield if you need to), when that one goes down focus on another one and stun the third with Hammer of Justice.
DPS the 2nd guy down as best you can and save Arcane Torrent for when Hammer of Justice wears off and they are both casting.
HEAL and/or heal and use a Super Healing Potion (or whatever kind of pots you have) whenever it is needed.

This tactic should easily give you the win and then just loot your water.

Now escaping is also very easy.
Just strip naked again and start running... wait as long as you can and then pop Divine Shield (let it cool down if you used it, which you probably did) and keep running, trying not to aggro excessive extra enemies.
You should be able to get out of combat before you die but if not just run back and res.

solo'd as a 60 ret paladin with no issues, just took my time with pulls and kills. this seemed like something people made out to be a bigger and harder deal than it really was. 1 bubble going in, 1 lay on hands in the room with the water, 1 bubble to run out.

Ran in, died, ressed by the bookcase as most have done, and then used my "Book of the Dead" and the skeleton attacked the mobs whilst I was able to loot easily :)

Timed the respawns down to about 5 minutes....parked my pala at the entrance and slaughtered a pathway into the the bowl/plate...logged and went back onto my pala and literally ran straight in...got the water...ran out .

If you have a high level toon then this is an easy way of doing it

Easily soloed as a 62 ret pally. Spam Divine Storm and Crusader Strike (if ret) along with judgements and use consecration. Use your stuns and Lay of Hands when needed. There are three 54-55 Elites. I recomend hiding behind the bookshelf in the room to drink/buff up. The room is in the left wing and the water is on the table. I recomend dying next to the room so you can res behind the bookshelf and get ready. When leaving have your Divine Shield ready and use when needed.

I solo it as a 60 holy pally after getting some good stuff from outland. Just pray for crit at all time. There is 3 building , the one at the left side then enter the library wings. It's on the ground floor with 3 mobs .

Was leveling 2h sword skill while in there (only 250 at lvl.60 lol), would've been even easier with near max.

Actually, the speed on a epic ground mount with Crusader Aura up is 240%.

(Walk speed + Mount speed) * Crusader Aura = Actual speed
(100% + 100%) * 1.2 = 240%

See the comments on the Aura if my simple math doesn't convince you ;)

I soloed this quest earlier this evening on my lvl 60 ret pally.

Just remember where the water is, that's really the key. I would also warn that the "enchanter" mobs are casters that hit for about 400-600 per bolt.

dude, i soloed this quest at lvl 64 and didnt have a problem, sure they might be elite but they are so weak sauce. Just make sure you use your seal of the wise and not the seal of command.

At 65 as ret with some boa gear, this is a cake walk. Just make sure you're self buffed and you can darn near one shot most of them. Oh, and do this quest, just don't die. There's tons of xp to be made.

I just tried to help my friend with this quest. I am a lvl 80 DK and when I attempted to walk into the church I faded out (like crossing invisible "content zone lines" in Icecrown. The message "The enemy controls the Undercity" appears at the top of my screen and when I mouse over it I get the message "Grand Apothecary Putress and Varimathras have taken over the Undercity!"

I was unable to see my friend once inside the church, and she could not see me, and while I could see mobs on the inside, they would fade away once I entered.

So for whatever reason this place is somehow connected/bugged to the events following the slaughter at Angrathar the Wrathgate.

Luckily I was able to help by standing outside the church and having my friend pull mobs to the entrance for me to see and kill.

I found this almost embarrassingly easy to solo as a level 60 retribution spec with a couple of outland greens from the initial few quests. Absolutely no need to run in and die, etc.

Simply pulled mobs and killed them in ones and twos until I got into Abbey. Killed two Clerics just inside entrance, killed a Cleric and an Enchanter in small room on left, Enchanter and Cleric in bookcase room and two Enchanters and a Cleric in Holy Water room. Didn't need any pots or bubble. Health never went below 20%.

I can only assume the mobs in Tyr's Hand got a serious nerf at some point.

This is soloable as a 60 ret pally. I got the 2 cleric 1 enchanter combo. Repent the Chanter and pull the clerics back. Do your rotation. Be sure to switch between Judge of Light and Wisdom. If you have Art of War you are golden. Also Divine Storm helps too. But other wise its GG. Just remember that your Judgment of Command (Seal of Command + any Judge) will crit. So roflstomp them and get yo shizzles done.

Easily solo'd at lvl 60. Mobs are spaced out well enough outside so that you can get there without too much fighting and when inside there are a few mobs you come accross before getting to the room (as op said - ignore the stairs) 3 elies inside....downed them no probs with lvl 60 ret pally.

I solo'd this as a lvl 60 ret pally, all pre-bc blue gear, except for the Hellreaver polearm I had from Ramparts. Easy, easy, I didn't do anything special, judge light, used seal of command, blessing of might, ret aura, interrupted caster mobs when I could, little divine storm, consecration, bit of flash heal when I needed. The mobs at lvl 60 were green to me and they are spread out in batches of two, mostly squishies.

the map above of the Plaguelands: The Scarlet Enclave, Eastern Plaguelands has a different location for the quest, i found the quest item in the building above the letter "S" in TYR'S HAND on the map

Description
