Killed the murloc that drops the item to start this quest so far 14 times at 32.27 (his spawn point). Still no luck.

Other sites say the drop rate is about 70% but...

After about 20 kills and testing, I have learned this quest is technically part of a chain. The item required will not drop unless you have done the quests to learn the Stillpine Firbolg language, as started by the totem in Azure Watch.

So unless you can 'speak Firbolg' the item will not drop. Just to be safe though I also was on Gurf's quest when it dropped, so one or both may be required.

Have any non Draenei had this item drop? I've got a strong feeling its one of those Draenei only quests as after 30 kills I've yet to have it drop. Beaten everything else at Stillpine and Azure Watch.

I have done this on my NE priest so yes non-Draenei can do this quest. You need to do the Firbolg quest chains first to learn the language

You dont have to do any special quest to get his piece of fur to drop from the murloc i just got it and i have not completed the other furbolg quests guess i was lucky but it droped the first time i killed Murgugula

I just did this quest on my gnome. Metalbunny is correct, you must do Gurf's first quest for the ravagers, and then the drop rate is 100%.

You have to complete the Murlocs... Why Here? Why Now? quest before you can pick this one up. It's not a continuity chain which is why it doesn't show up, but rather a "one triggers the other" type deal.

It appears that you must complete the ravager hide quest that Gurf gives you before this quest will drop.

Just want to make sure people know that this is partially correct. The ravager quest is NOT given by Gurf; at the very most the Ravager quest is a "one triggers the other" type of thing. However, since you can get the Murlocs... Why Here? Why Now? quest at the same time as the Ravager, it would seem counterintuitive that the drop would be dependent on a different chain.

I can confirm, however, that the Ravager quest IS necessary for the other Stillpine quests to open up, so,I guess anything is possible.

To clear up any confusion with this quest, all you need to do is the Azure Watch quest chain to learn to speak the Furbolg language and are on (but not necessarily finished with "Murlocs...Why here? Why Now?).

Murgurgula will drop the quest starter item as long as you speak Furbolg and are on Gurf's first quest.

Personally I killed that mob about 6 times and could not get the quest Item.

All I had to do was accepting the following quest: Murlocs... Why Here? Why Now? and I got the Gurf's Dignity at the first try. I didn't even finish that quest.

Give it a try first the quest giver is just near by.

To be VERY clear. For this quest to be available, all you have to do is walk up to Gruf, and pick up "Murlocs... why here? Why now?"

lvl 100 worgen hunter (boosted) never did -any- beginning quests and was able to pick up this bonus quest once I was on the one listed above.

1. Gurf's Dignity
• Travel to Silting Shore of Azuremyst Isle, located in the northwest section of the zone near coords 34.4, 14.7.
• Locate and kill Murgurgula, a larger purple-colored Murloc that patrols the beach.
• Loot the corpse of Murgurgula and click on Gurf's Dignity, in your inventory.
• Travel east to coords 44.6, 23.4.
• Turn in the quest to Gurf.
