Maraudon - After Princess, jump down to where Rotgrip is and climb out of the water and up the ramp. He's near there.

since patch 3.0.8, u no longer need to bring the scepter to port there, since there is now a Portal there instead.

i dont know if this is for every1, or just for the people who have done the quest for the rod.

If you are following the order given here http://www.wowhead.com/?achievement=912#comments, amongst other places, you'll notice it says nothing about hearthing/using the scroll after the Maraudon elder. It doesnt take into account there isnt actually an exit from Maraudon. After running round for 15 min tying to find one I gave up and just aggroed a ton of mobs & corpse runned back in the purple entrance.

As a lvl 80 Holy Pally, I soloed my way to this Elder without any real difficulty. I did aggro a few mobs (just trash) and dealt with them easily. I suspect you might be able to get all the way through without aggro if you were careful.

It was long and tedious. I didn't know my way around the instance, so I used the maps on wowwiki's Maraudon page to find my way. When I finished, I hearthed out.

If you have Dalaran as your hearth, you can use that then go to the portal for Cavern of Time to pick up your route again.

If you want to do Maraudon achievement, kill the Princess Theradras before you jump down, because it takes a bit to get back up.

Quickest Way

1. Enter the middle of instance via portal
2. Turn right at first ramp (elder dimetradon's are there)
3. Follow tunnel past tinker Gizlock
4. Turn left at 1st Behemoth
5. Turn right at 2nd Behemoth
6. Go over bridge
7. Go into the cavern and Elder is at far right hand side

I found all these directions confusing...worse still landing in a pool with no way out, even all the 8 mobs in there couldn't kill me at level 85 as I regenerated quicker than they could kill me. had to drown!

*Go into Mauraudon through the stone doors
*Run inside and down either stair...keep going and you'll see a 3-way junction with coloured crystals to both left and right.
*Take neither of these and go straight ahead (the one with two centaur statues).
*Follow the tunnel downwards and you will find the portal to Inner Mauraudon they describe above.

This is rather obvious, but if you are trying to get out, just invite a friend to a group, leave the group, and get teleported to the nearest graveyard. Much faster than running.

To get there u must go straight to princess ! Go up to that ramp(before princess,where stone mobs starting) & when ur on top,look straight down(u`ll see small brigde there),u must get on that brigde & there should be little snake packs,if u see them,ur on the right way,he is right behind corner,behind those snakes...

I cleared all maraudon,killed damn princess & didn`t found NPC,it took around 25 mins :(

Still no sign of Splitrock the Elder. I'm getting low of food and water.
I can't recall the taste of food... nor the sound of water... nor the touch of grass. I'm... naked in the dark, with nothing, no veil... between me... and the wheel of fire! I can see him... with my waking eyes!

I made a Tumblr blog post about where you can find Elder Splitrock & put a map screen shot of where he is actually located.

When I found him, I made sure to take a map screen shot & the yellow star marker on the map where my character is on the map is where he is located. (Very bottom on the map.)

i think a lot of this info is out of date, i couldn't find any 'portal' to inner maraudon. all you have to do is make your way to the normal maraudon entrance in desolace, when you are inside maraudon, follow the path round untill you get to a place called 'poison falls' (green area on the map) then follow that round to the left (it goes off the map), there is no portal, just keep following this round and the map will change to the inner maraudon map! then follow the path round this untill you get to just above where the princess is, now, dont jump into the water, look over the edge and there is a bridge just below, if you jump here and then run forward he is just in the cave ahead :) good luck!

TomTom: /way Desolace 51.3, 93.6 Elder Splitrock

Elder Splitrock is located in the Maraudon instance, which is located in Desolace. There are two entrances for instance + a portal.
The best way to get to Elder Splitrock is to jump into the water after the endboss (Princess Theradras) and swim through the tunnel at the end. You can also let all the bosses out and jump directly into the water or onto the bridge before the endboss.

The elder can only be seen during the Lunar Festival.

If you're here, it's probably too late but...if you are trying to do ALL the elders or some subset of them, there are a number of ways to get to him and you might as well do the dungeon quests while you're at it. If you're NOT trying to do all the elders and only going after the heirlooms, skip this guy; it's too much time and trouble. You'll have enough without him and those obnoxious Horde (and a few Alliance too) elders guarded by 14 125 Elites, a battalion from the 182nd Airborne, the entire woodwind section from the Cleveland Symphony Orchestra and the ghost of Frank Sinatra. Why Frank? I don't know; maybe he was just trying to do all the elders too.

Yay, just approached Elder Splitrock and couldn't complete his quest. The 'complete quest'-button simply did nothing. Happy Lunar Festival, Blizzard!

I thought trying to find the NPC would be difficult, but turns out finding the dungeon exit afterwards is much more difficult 😭 I hearthstone’d outta there in the end 🥲 I don’t remember this dungeon at all! Seems soo old there isn’t even an exit displayed on the map lol
