Currently bugged on live servers 3/1/22 ~~and unable to be completed~~. When approaching the Jiro group, the meet-up objective completes and then the speak with Hanoa objective auto-completes. It prevents you from being able to speak with Hanoa and trigger the event with the devourers. Abandoning and resetting does not work. Multiple folks encountered this bug while I was there and no one was able to complete the quest.

Edit: Leaving the area completely without abandoning quest then returning seems to do the trick, as suggested, allowing the devourer event to be triggered and quest completed. Unsure about relation to the world boss, the group who encountered this bug were a mixture of those who had and had not defeated it at that point (most likely it was the act of leaving the area then returning that fixed it). If this quest appears bugged to you because you are unable to talk to Hanoa, try walking a fair distance from him (50+ yards worked for me), then reapproach him. There seems to be an issue where the ability to talk to him fades fairly quickly on approach, so run directly to him, and if you have the option to speak to him, quickly do so before it fades again.

A temporary solution that worked for me for those checking out this thread: I joined a group for the world boss so it phased me to a different realm, left the group so it phased me back to my realm, and talked to the Jiro IMMEDIATELY as I phased in (helps to be standing right next to the Jiro when you do this). This allowed me to choose the dialogue option to start the quest. Hope this helps :)

Until the quest is (hopefully soon) fixed another potential solution is to turn war mode on (or vice versa) this will move you to another shard which may be working.

Before the hotfix on 2nd March, this quest can be completed by changing shards, after the hotfix it cannot be completed by changing shards.

Yes, they fixed the tempory working solution. It is still bugged, somehow even 'bugger'.

Changing WM still works. Get it done before they fix this solution!

Since joining world boss group did not work, I logged off next to the bugged Jiro and when I logged back I was able to talk to the Jiro and proceed with the quest. Iam not sure if simply relogging works or if you have to log off for 15 mins.

As of right now, this quest is bugged for a lot of "shards." Apparently you have to "shard hop" and hope to complete it before your group gets converted to raid or you get kicked. Soon as you leave the shard that works, you will lose the quest again.

Upon completion of this quest, the following dialogue plays:

Hanoa the Exile says: You have my thanks, . This could not have been done without you.
Olea Pau says: It was not just .
Olea Novi says: We could not have done this without Hanoa.
Olea Manu says: Hanoa protected us.
Hanoa the Exile says: Any jiro would have done the same.
Olea Pau says: We agree. Hanoa is jiro.
Olea Novi says: All jiro belong to a Circle.
Olea Manu says: We welcome Hanoa back to our Circle.
Hanoa the Exile says: But I am severed... is that wise?
Olea Pau says: Hanoa is not a danger.
Olea Novi says: Hanoa is our family.
Olea Manu says: Welcome home, Olea Hanoa.

Upon conclusion of this dialogue, Hanoa the Exile's name changes to Olea Hanoa.

This ends the quest chain started with Broken Circle (which is gotten by the talent Altonian Understanding)

You get absolutely zero indication that these Jiro set themselves outside of Firim cave area (why they setup here and just stand around who knows....)

Here you have the vendor Olea Manu who sells a bunch of stuff including the all important Improvised Cypher Analysis Tool which increases the cyphers you find by 50%

Sadly you also get zero rep for this entire chain, which also seems stupid.

Completing this storyline has the Jiro set up shop outside of Exile's Hollow, which opens up the Jiro vendor Olea Manu.
Once you finish the quest chain, the vendor (and reast of the circle of Jiros) will be at /way 37.16 44.66.

This vendor sells a handful of items:

Improvised Cypher Analysis Tool: Which increases your cypher games by 50%. This is battle.net account bound, cost 150 cyphers, and can be sent to alts.
Recipe: Empty Kettle of Stone Soup: A feast which allows party members to contribute materials to create a +20 main stat food; cost 25 cyphers
Formula: Magically Regulated Automa Core: A crafting reagent that makes your gear have a chance to spawn an unstable Automa Core which detonates after 4 sec; cost 25 cyphers
Brutosaur Soul and Armadillo Soul: Two Night Fae Soulshapes, a brutosaur (1000 cyphers) and an armadillo (500 cyphers)
Pocopoc Traveler: A pocopoc battle pet that you can summon outside of Zereth Mortis, in case you want your BB-8 to follow you around (and kill other pets) after 9.2; cost 500 cyphers
Jiro Circle of Song: A toy that causes Jiro to stand around you and serenade you with their electronic melodies; cost 100 cyphers

As stated by multiple posters, to unlock this quest chain you need the Cypher Console Spell Altonian Understanding.

It appears the items are locked behind cypher equipment level, and the souls require you to be level 6 to be available for purchase.

If you're having trouble with this fight there are a couple tricks:

Have Hanoa the Exile tank for you. Stand back a bit and let him get in the first hit, he'll hold aggro on them so you can pick off one at a time.
He will also periodically put up a dome. Standing under this reduces your damage and increases your haste.

Jiro to Hero

Defend the jiro from devourers until they enact the dampening field.

	Meet up with the jiro (1)
	Speak to Hanoa the Exile (1)
	Defend the jiro from the devourers (1)

Description

I have spoken to other jiro. Our orb can create a dampening field. It should close the rifts and stop new ones from forming. It must be done where the Maw magic is strongest. Between the giant chains. The power released by the orb will draw devourers. You and I must defend the orb until the field is set. I will escort the others. Meet us at the rift when you are ready.
