Don't kill Thulsketha the Binder right away, go exactly on Nika, the little squirrel so the "Kivarr located" part is finished.

Follow the squirrel (Nika) that you let out of the cage. If you don't follow it, you will not get credit for finding Kivarr. Do not head straight for the quest turn in, follow the squirrel with the green arrow over it's head!

I think they were ironic when the designed this quest. For starters, it's name - 'A Swift Intervention' and during the quest, the squirrel you're supposed to follow moves really slow and stops all the time while at the same time constantly proclaiming we are in a a hurry.

Anyway - you need to be patient with the squirrel and just wait for it - move to fast and you won't get credit for the kill.

Really wish blizzard would stop designing quests like this where they put a tiny green arrow over a tiny, glowing blue squirrel who walks around in grass just to spam the same message over and over only to find out that you have to spend 10 minutes following it before you can move on with the quest. Quit wasting our game time blizzard, thanks.

After picking up the quest make sure to stay next to Nika the entire time. You will need to stand on Nika to start the escort and Nika will have a bouncing green arrow above their head to indicate where they are. When you get there make sure you let Nika finish her speak so that it marks the locating of Kivarr part off the list. After that you will need to slay Thulsketha the Binder.

Note: Sadly you can't just run to where the quest marker ends up on the map and you must follow Nika the entire time and if you lose them at any point you can go back to where you picked up the quest to restart it.
Note 2: Redid this quest on my alt today January 15, 2021 (prior attempt was December 28, 2020) and I ran completely straight to the objective forgetting all about this. If you wait at the objective a few Nika will pop up and then go where they need to in order to trigger the event. So essentially you don't have to worry about escorting this squirrel anymore.

This quest pretty much sums up this whole expansion so far, in particular these Campaign related quests.

Evidentially the only design considerations they use is how to make things take as long as possible for the player.

If you lost the idiot squirrel I found it outside the entrance to the circle where Kivarr is being held.

The best way to do this is to run to the entrance (not the tunnel) to the circle and the squirrel will show up pretty quickly. Then escort him from there.

You don't have to start over if you don't follow the squirrel. I went a totally different direction and got no update. Finally I ran out of the tunnel, came back in and the squirrel was standing on the target area, and I got the update and was able to kill the named. Quest completed. The main thing is to get the squirrel to stand on the update spot with you.

Yes this horrible quest design. Run to the quest objective area. Then stand on the stupid squirrel fox thing "Nika" so she can do her roleplay of Thanks the night! We're not too late!" then and only then will to get the next objective of Killing Thulsketha the Binder.
Seriously a quest that starts by saying they need immediate action and that the squirrel knows exactly where the alter is but you are supposed to stand on top of her while she slowly walks all over the place smelling for her trail while you pull every mob in the zone.......
QA was definitely either asleep or fired by Activision.

Blizz why not put Nika saying "I'll meet with you ahead" stuff, then PUT HER NEAR THE DAMN TUNNEL ENTRANCE SO YOU TRIGGER THE NEXT PART OF THE QUEST OR JUST AUTO TRIGGER IT ASAP WHEN YOU GET OUT OF THE TUNNEL.

By far one of the most laughably terrible scripts in the game. Goes well with Shadowlands imo. Came here because the squirrel actually went the opposite way for me down through the tunnel.. good waste of 20 mins and quite possibly one of many nails in the coffin after 16 long years playing. Things are so bad, it's like Blizzard don't want anyone enjoying Warcraft at all these days.

Just a cotton-pickin' minute... if the cage couldn't be opened without the keys; which I'm carrying at the moment, then how the HELL were THEY able to open it and take Kivarr away?

So...

Drust kidnap bear-thing from den, lock in cage, give 3 cage keys to commanders.
Kill the commanders, take keys, go back to rescue bear-thing.
There is a squirrel-thing in the cage.
Squirrel-thing says drust took bear-thing (with backup keys?) to be sacrificed.
Run to sacrificial spot, wait for squirrel-thing to arrive and says "phew! we're not too late1"
Kill drust-thing.
Bear-thing goes back to den (where...they just ambushed and kidnapped her from?)

Quest is horribly bugged u need to enter via tunnel or else *!@#$%ed squirell will bug out and travel around as little aimless piss of sheet.

There are 2 entraces. One is gate like entrance do not go there. Second is tunnel, Go there and squirel will start auto run to the boss. Wait till she speak something heoric and than kill boss infornt off Kivarr

We should make a petition to kick whoever created this quest from blizz team. Buggy as %^&* and totaly out of logic.

Some months later, this quest is still bugged. If you're not getting credit you probably came from the north entrance. You don't need to abandon the quest to fix it. Run down the "tunnel" looking path to the east, wait for the squirrel to appear there, and then run back up to the area again. This time it should give credit.

Whoever named this a swift intervention jinxed this quest. This is at least the 2nd time (on another toon) that I have run up too quickly, saw the guy I was supposed to kill and killed him, then saw the squirrel I was supposed to follow wandering around and realized that I had to go talk to the squirrel before I kill the guy. So I talk to the squirrel and wait for the guy to respawn again. So swift.

Who told Blizzard that "follow NPC as it moves slowly from one point to another" was good quest design? It's like they're experimenting to find out how obnoxious they can make the game before everyone quits. From what I can tell it's working!

OH! No time to waste! Swift intervention! But don't try and save time and FLY there - no no no, you need to escort the painfully SLOW npc or you can't do the quest properly. I hate these quest developers.

Still functions like trash even in 2024. This quest will most likely never be updated.

1. Release the squirrel from the cage.
2. Annoyingly follow it very slowly up a hill.
3. Wait till you get to the top in front of the boss.
4. Wait till the squirrel says "Praise the night! We're not too late!
5. Once the quest tracker updates to slay the boss feel free to kill.

DO NOT RUN AHEAD OF THE SQUIRREL !

Description
