Good luck on this one, took about 20 minutes to complete, I was getting one for every 5-7 times I pushed the Lucky Nose button. When he would locate one, you have about 2-3 seconds to get to it, otherwise it will disappear, and if you do get to it in time, its not always the salvage item, not to mention he will run up a cliff and find it on the side, which is impossible to get to.

Be sure Chordy is out, and if you don't have the extra UI button show up, check your action bar. You might have moved it there previously.

I have never posted but thought I would for this one. I went to Pridefall Hamlet (around 69 80) and Had the best luck with no agro. (Horde)

This quest is horrible. The drop rate on the button-push is low, the quest seems to bug out often, where chordy will not find anything no matter what. Also, he is an adept mountain climber and will put the item out of reach.

Skip this one, it ain't worth it.

This quest is frustrating in most places, but I was able to complete it easily in Revendreth at 44.36, 47.02
Wide open, no mobs, and easy to see the Salvagable Items that appear as soon as you press the Lucky Nose action.

So far I've been liking The Abandoned Purlieu @ 38,41.5 (it's halfway between Sinfall and Castle Nathria, it's the courtyard with the WQ where you aim a mirror). Very flat, decent sight-lines, and lots of room for Chordy to sprint cleanly.

Easiest to do for me on wall on 67.35 64.46, there is mushroom nearby.
It is small very limtied space where it can spawn just spam the button.
Always go for elevated small space so Chordy cant run out of it.

Any of the high ramparts without NPCs work well, since they don't have ground clutter and they box Chordy into a smaller area.

Personally I fly to Charred Ramparts, go through Hole in the Wall, and follow the stairs up to: /way #1525 39.07 44.22 Luckydo Finding Spot

There's no NPCs here. Position yourself near the parasol on the ledge, use Lucky Nose, loot the salvage, move back to the parasol, repeat. By using Lucky Nose near the ledge, you're shrinking the usable area for him and so you don't have to chase him as much.

At the very least they should halve the item requirement to 5. This quest drags so hard.

Easily one of the worse coded quests i have even seen, and i've been playing this game for over a decade. Sometimes you hit the extra buttons and nothing happens, sometimes he runs around and finds nothing, and sometimes the little &*!@ literally runs vertically up walls and mountains to discover items that are virtually impossible to reach. Should become bearable with flying in 9.1, but so far in 9.0 it's easily my most hated quest of the expansion.

I did it on the bridge in the east of Darkhaven. No mobs, nearly plain area, just the Darkhaven Carriage sometimes passing the way.
Sometimes Chordy couldn't find anything but this happened to me at other places too.

Giving credit where credit is due - Tyrsenus posted this on the Chordy quest for Ardenweald, and this has helped me tremendously on these quests:

To make salvage easier to see, input this into the command line or Paste:

/run SetCVar("graphicsGroundClutter",1)
/run SetCVar("Contrast", 100)

And to revert to Blizzard defaults:

/run SetCVar("graphicsGroundClutter",6)
/run SetCVar("Contrast", 50)

The easiest place to find 10 Valuable Salvage is in Pridefall Hamlet in Revendreth (70.80). once you reach that point, call Chordy and use his ability Lucky Nose. Personally I found all the 10 Valuable Salvage in there within 1 min.

Stand still when you press his search button. Let him go on his own. This fixed my issues where he wasn't finding anything.

I also found success in the area where the quest marks his location (52, 71).

Best method I've discovered (unfortunately requires flying):

Find a secluded spot on a ledge or somewhere high up where there is not a lot of ground to cover and no mobs.
Stay on your flying mount.
Call Chordy (don't forget to dismiss your other construct if you have one).
Use Lucky Nose.
Immediately fly straight up for about 5 seconds.
Fly straight back down using "x" (or your hotkey for "sit/move down").

The shiny should be right there within a few feet, if not directly underneath you. No need to dismount as Chordy will reappear with about 3 seconds left on your cooldown.

I struggled with this for 30 minutes flying to all the suggested places and hoping the "Lucky Nose" button would appear. Nope. Abandoned, went back, picked it up again, no button. Next day tried again. No "Lucky Nose" button. I went to the Banewood and cleared an open area. I stood there and typed "/use lucky nose" and Chordy took off. I didnt move as others had posted it bugs it and finally there was my luckydo. Was able to complete in 5 minutes.

Good place if you have flying is platfom in castle nathria at 49 45, its a platform on southern side of castle. Great flat surface, works like seat of primus in maldraxxus.

For some reason the game and WoWhead show this takes place in Maldraxxus, but it is supposed to be in Revendreth. Not sure what the screw up is, but don't go running around like I did in Maldraxxus.

Best place I've found is /way 65.70 85.04. On top of the broken pillar, stand at the endand use the action button, they areasy to spot when they pop up.

my best spot to do this is in the Prideful Hamlet, specifically the coords 72, 76, right next to the Nuisance of Stone Fiends item. return to this starting position between each cast.
