This appears to be bugged in beta as of 2020-08-19. Once you've arrived in Ardenweald and been directed to the circle of mushrooms, Marasmius spawns but cannot be interacted with. You're then stuck on the step "0/1 ask Marasmius for transportation". I have not yet been able to figure out a solution but I'll edit this comment if I do.

EDIT: Today, 2020-08-27 with the latest reset, Marasmius can be interacted with and you get the chat option "Can you transport me to the islands with pure water?" when you speak to him. Worth noting that you, like me, had the quest weeks ago you probably no longer have the required "Tubbins's Bucket" to actually get the water once there.

I had to abandon the quest and reacquire it to get a new bucket for the quest to work.

How to do Ember Court: Tubbins's Tea Party:

accept the quest inside Mad Duke's Parlor in Revendreth /way 31,0, 57,6
go to Ardenweald (pick a Flight Master to Glitterfall Basin)
speak with Dwyl'ir to request Transportation to the "special floaty island" /way 51,4, 34,5
find the Mushroom ring /way 49,4, 27,6
ask Marasmius for transportation (he not allow)
go to The Stalks and kill 20 Kill Credit: Mushroom Destroyers /way 31,7, 32,9 Mushroom destroyers
go to Oaken Assembly and kill 10 Mushroom Defilers /way 31,9, 53,2 Mushroom defilers
go to Mistveil Tangle and kill 10 Mushroom Tormentors /way 29,1, 55,5 Mushroom Tormentors
pick a Flight Master to back to Glitterfall Basin
speak with Marasmius to travel to the island
jump over Bounding Shroom to reach the Pristine Water
use Tubbins's Bucket to collect Pristine Water /way 47,6, 7,5
ask Marasmius for transportation /way 50,8, 7,6
back to Revendreth and return the quest inside Mad Duke's Parlor /way 31,0, 57,6

To access Ember Court: Tubbins's Tea Party you need complete Ember Court: Refreshments.

When you're doing the "mushroom defilers" step of this quest, a good portion of those mobs are elite. But you can make it easier on yourself by kiting mobs back to Root-Home - elite guards will help you out.

Blizz should have made the last step optional. Why do I have ask to be ported from island when I can just hearth back to my sanctum?

if you die on the island you have to take res sick.
cant run back and cant port there as a ghost

Found out that you do not get kill counts on these if you're in a group or most likely in a group with non-venthyr people. Got help from a NF friend, thought the quest was bugged at first.

For the water source bit, you jump on one of the mushrooms on the ground, but that won't take you high enough to reach the water source!
You have to land on the branch near the waterfall as there is a 2nd mushroom there you must use!
Coords for the 2nd mushroom/branch are /way 48.27, 8.12
I didn't see the 2nd mushroom at first, so maybe this will help anyone else who is wondering.

Just a side note that if you have the bucket for the Sinrunner Blanchy quest chain, you can also fill that one up here as well.

Is there anyway to get back to the island? I hearth out and now can't finish quest. Any ideas?

You have to love quests that potentially force you to take rez sickness if you happen to die.

When completing this question and first talk to Marasmius the mushroom, there is a reference to the latest Startrek series - using his mycelial network to transport you to the island :)

As of right now, if you die while on the "floating island" you have to take rez sickness and go back to Marasmius. Coordinates are 49.38, 27.6

I guess I still don't get how or why Blizz takes a solo event - Ember Court: blah blah and turns it into requiring a group to kill elite mobs (by Root Home)?

Why? Just honestly why?

If this was a group thing - dungeon/raid/pvp understandable - totally get that. World Boss fine you need a group. Wanted Poster for 3-5 players cool. The other mushroom offenders are solo-able, but then Hey lets give them some Elites to keep it fresh? /sigh

It's a SOLO Covenant Sanctum quest chain - no one else is going to experience this right? Yet I have to get a group to do this portion of the quest chain or cheese it by kiting them to the NPC Guards - does anyone actually check these before beta and release?

This is not nearly as bad as it first might seem, or comments here might lead you to believe. Yes you have to go to an elite area, but you don't have to kill a single elite. There's plenty of non-elites to find that will count for the quest.

I think we should ban tea from the next game expansion, for revendreth is a coven of blood drinking "satanist" (as in adversary, per Brown, Daniel) superstars, and we could have done better if that segment of in game development wasn't half baked or some %^&*!

Easy, not as bad as people say. Like others have said, yes you have to go into elite areas, but there are non elites mixed in, so it is easy, and some of the elites are not that hard to kill if you are decently geared.

If you have patients, you could wait until the WQ is up for that area, it is sometimes even a calling. You will not have a problem getting in a group to help kill mobs. My one hunter is crappy geared and she could still solo some of the elites, just have to watch their mechanics.

The way people were making it sound was like you had to kill a rare elite that was lvl 61 or 62 and you needed a group to do it.

A good place to find non-elite Mushroom Tormentors is near /way 27, 54
There are a lot of Bristlecone humanoids in packs with only a couple elites roaming.

I tried to be smart and went directly to the source with my flying mount, you can pick up the water early but it will only validate the last 2 quest steps and you'll still be forced to kill 40 enemies and use Marasmius to go to the island before the quest is completed.

If you can't teleport back from the small island in Ardenweald you can just fly back to him, ask for a teleport to the island again and then ask for a teleport back. The mushroom to talk to on the island is the last one in the half circles of mushrooms. Hope this helps!
