This is as far as you can get week 1, but it unlocks more dailies e.g. Too Many Whelps and WARNING: This is Only a Test!.
Next: A New Foothold (starting Monday, November 16, for some reason)

This quest seems broken because you may arrive at the location with nothing to interact with, but it is pretty straightforward. Go to the marked location (Icecrown 45 44), and wait for a Bone Giant to spawn. This is an elite mob so you'll have time to tag him, even with dozens of other players camping the location. When I did the quest, it took a minute or two for it to spawn.

Once this Bone Giant is killed, the quest will be completed.

You may not see the sense of progress but once the Bone Giant spawns kill him and you're done.

I got feared by the last Bone Giant and drove me far away frm the lag, I reached the flag as fast as I could to retag the giant but he died from the NPCs as he had 3% hp and it did not count towards the progress and the argent soldies mounted up and left and despawned the flag and I had to do this all over again! If you don't want to repeat this fun quest for no reason make sure to fight near the flag or cc the fear.

I have killed the Bone Giant Solo like 7-8 times and still the quest does not show as completed. The reinforcements just leave and then the flag despawns and respawns. I have tried to abandon and repickup the quest, exiting the game, reloading etc. and still to no avail. Any suggestions or fixes would be greatly appreciated.

The comments here aren't correct. If you're the first person to do this there will be a flag to interact with which starts some waves of mobs ending with a Bone Giant.

If someone else has already started it you can just join in.

I really don't understand this quest otherwise. From the quest text it makes it sound like you're going to setup some forward base and indeed some npc's join you. But there is nothing like a flight path or any useful anything created.

When completed, this quest "unlocks access to daily quests in Icecrown". The funny thing is that you can do the dailies before completing this one. Been doing this with many characters now and it's the same for everyone.

Description

While the other crusaders regain control of the tournament grounds, you and I must press on. Our forces previously attempted to set up a forward camp farther into Icecrown, but they were overrun. With you by our side, I am confident we can reclaim the area.
