This quest is part of the means of getting your second active pet slot (and second pet) as a new hunter. The beast you encounter on this quest will be what you can tame in the next quest, and corresponds to your race's unique starting pet as seen on the character creation menu (for example, blood elves get a dragonhawk, pandaren get a turtle, and so on).

Use your Freezing Trap within the Ogre Ruins to lure out the beast stalking the camp.

Description

Now that you have your trap, we can move onto the true problem at hand. A strange creature not native to this island has been stalking our camp. I think we should capture it and see how it can help us. Set the freezing trap within these ruins to lure it out. We'll see just what we are dealing with.
