I clicked on "Inspect" and nothing happened... will report back.

Edit: I think it was just lag. You click "Inspect" on the little "Arcane Device" and it's basically connect the dots except if someone already did it really badly and you have to untangle them. Looks hard, isn't. Good luck!

A couple tips to note prior to quest:

The World Quest won't pop up until you are nearby the chest. You need to be close, inside the area.
Try not to pull everything zerging inside. The quest is only startable being out-of-combat.

It is possible to make separate shapes of continuous lines for example, small triangles and squares. Its not necessary to make one whole shape.

When I clicked on the chest, the quest popped up but it was between the pillars and I can't see the quest object. I can't quit the quest and restart either. Tried logging and quitting. When I log back in I'm still stuck.

One way of thinking about this puzzle so you don’t tie yourself in knots. Note this is not a full solution, just a way of getting your bearings back if you feel lost:

Decide on a pair of Spheres you would like to link, e.g. two around the edge.
In your head, call them Sphere A and Sphere B.
See what other spheres B is already attached to and think of one of these as Sphere C.
Swap Sphere A with Sphere C.
A and B are now linked as you desired.
Repeat until complete, working with a new pair each time (starting at the edges seems easiest).

Just keep it simple. Click a sphere then click a different sphere. Keep working at it until there are two separate shapes. I got a square inside of a square in under one minute.

What you need to know:

-The objective is to get all lines uncrossed. Light blue means that the connected lines are not crossed, pink lines means they are connected (touching other lines). You click two orbs to uncross their respective line.

- It does not matter if you make few "drawings" when disconnecting the lines, IT DOES NOT HAVE to be one big drawing.

- The easiest way to complete this quest is to pay attention to what UNCROSSED line is connected to an orb making a pink line and connect it to the most outer orb; thus uncrossing the lines and making light blue figures (polygons).

- If you make a light blue drawing, leave it alone and continue with the remaining orbs, DO NOT TOUCH light blue completed polygons trying to free other lines.

The don't overthink-it solution to leylocked chest quests
*You don't have to plot out a complicated sequence of moves*
There is more than one solution to a puzzle.

Start at the top so that the first shape you untangle is away from the others.
If the tangled shape has 4 or more sides, click on the lowest dot and then on a dot in the same shape that is higher. Repeat. Reverse a move if you don't like it.
If working on a single shape doesn't untangle it from another shape, be counter-intuitive. Click on a dot in one shape and connect it to a dot in a different shape. This opens new options.
Each untangled shape turns blue-violet.

If you want to create a border shape that contains other shapes:

Start at top and connect the next dot to a dot on the perimeter (ignore its shape). Repeat.
Once you have an outline shape, start on the inside shapes.

quests are are always located in a Highborne ruin in northeast Nazjatar.

One of the Leylocked Chest quests produced a game which was partially obstructed by the surrounding items, making it unsolvable for me. Used the macro provided by ordamo in another of these comments to get back out. Found that if changed my position and direction I looked at (in the nearby corner, with my back to the corner) before starting the minigame it helped to get an unobstructed view of the minigame. Hope this helps someone.

I can solve the puzzles. It's finding the chest in the first place that has me beat. I head for the icon on the map but as soon as I get close the yellow arrow changes direction and keeps going round in circles. I usually end up giving up and only do the chests if I stumble across them. At the rate I'm going I won't have earned flying before the next expansion comes out. I'm so far behind.
