Feel free to not turn-in the quest as keeping the vacuum to suck up more fish seems way faster than fishing them yourself.

Be sure to look for pools of Ionized Minnows. Instead of 2 fish each time you use the vacuum, you get 20 fish per pool!

You can turn in the quest without worrying about losing the vacuum you get during the quest. After you turn it in, you can talk to Danielle Anglers, who you received the quest from and turned it in to, and there will be a dialogue option to get the vacuum again.

Found something amusing: I had 187 minnows then stopped getting more and wondered if the quest bugged. Dropped the quest and reacquired it and noticed I still had the 187 fish, so went to check my bags and noticed the fish were there using space like reagents but also noticed by bags were full. So make sure you have space in your bags if you share my silly bad luck. :P

If you are morons, like me, you have to look for Ionized Minnows, which are fish schools, you vacuum on them, got a lot of quest fishes. Yay.

If you lose the Minnow Vac, 37, 42 is the waypoint for Danielle Anglers to obtain another and turn the quest in.
Also, if you have Find Fish tracking, it works for this.

The fish are one of two types used for the new raid meal. When you hand in the quest, you do not lose the fish. I sucked up 1600 fish to build meals later.
You can also go back and get another Minnow Vac from Danielle to catch more fish for Famine Evaluator and Snack Table. It gobbles up about 20 per vac.

You can suck up minnows while in the water, don't need to be water walking.
Suck up until you can't suck or you get tired :-)

in 15 minutes i had 1000 minnows, 200 for the quest and lots of cooking fish.
they can also make you a few if needed.

they are fillet of.. sole.. bound so you cant sell the minnows :-(
but you CAN make tons of while at it. (+93 crit food)

after the turn in, i did NOT get an option to buy or make another vaccusucker.
glad i did my extra fishing..

Do this quest while using Anti-Gravity Pack - you can stay flying / hovering the whole time while you vacuum. I was done in about 3 minutes.

I couldn't figure out why I couldn't get this quest, so I just did the quest she offered. After I turned it in, this quest was available. I hope this saves someone else a little time and maybe some head scratching.

Catch 200 Ionized Minnows.

Description

Ionized Minnows are a scourge of these waters. They strip the ocean floors of any food, making it difficult for other species to survive. These fish have little to offer other than being a food source for larger fish. I want to see these larger fish, so I have a plan to clear the waters of these minnows and lure the bigger fish out from its hiding place. Let's start by using my Minnow Vac to catch Ionized Minnows for me.
