YES! I wanted this to be a world quest so bad when I did Fragment of the Firelands!

I couldn't figure out who to talk to to start the quest. ....all you have to do is walk out among the goblins....you'll be converted to a magma monster again automatically (if you've already done the initial quest, I assume!)

Another badly coded piece of ^&*!e. It takes an age for the phasing to work once you transform into the magma beast, even though the action buttons are enabled. Once it finally works just charge round roasting goblins, it's that easy. But...even though there are loads of goblins back towards the start point, don't go there. If you step outside the questing zone (?) it resets & you have to start (albeit your accumulated kills don't disappear) from the encampment again. And yes, the phasing lag will be there. You would have thought Blizz could sort this out.

Caution:
Now that BFA Pathfinder part 2 is available, if you happen to be flying over the zone above Gobliteration it will dismount you and immediately place you in the 'Stabilized Magma Elemental' which just so happens to not have protection from falls. If you are above a survivable altitude you will near-instantly be plummeted to your untimely demise. For the insult to injury factor you will crater directly at the Alliance flight path and quest hub nearby and not where you land. So extra fun chuckles on this one!

I have to admit that I did laugh at the ridiculousness of this unintended consequence of auto-accepting world quests which instantly place you in vehicles. And, even though 70 gold worth of repairs later and a bit of half-annoyance half-amusement about 5 seconds later all was well in the end. It is hard to stay grumpy when you can roll a fire elemental over a beach full of silly goblins. Ha.

All in all 10/10 would plummet to demise again. Regardless, I do hope that Blizzard fixes the annoyance by, perhaps, either granting the vehicle no fall damage or by some other mechanism.

Currently, when you're done, the elemental is now stuck on your character, attached by its feet and anywhere between your shoulders and your feet. It will copy any applicable animations that you do (if you mount up, it will throw up its arms when you do, and walk when on foot).

The biggest side effect though is that while not immediately apparent (as the elemental is a bit distracting) is that you gain mount speed on foot, or 100%, for a total of 200% movement speed. As long as you don't leave Zandalar, you can mount up and fly, use your Flight Master's Whistle and use flightpaths (even the shape-changing tortollan ones) and go anywhere in Zandalar with your new magma buddy happily giving you a speed boost. Of course, one can't possibly expect this bug to stick around forever.

EDIT: It at first appeared to be fixed when the bug didn't happen one time, but just now triggered, so it can still happen.

This quest awarded 29 gold only....?

I thought it was a mistake or display issue, but for some reason this quest arbitrarily gives like 90% less gold than any other world quest

Around 17 months since this WQ was first put in (patch 8.1) and it still doesn’t count to 7th legion emissary.

Ever since patch 9.0.1, this quest (both the original War campaign quest and World Quest) are buggy. You need to basically stand around for about 15 seconds before any of the buttons works.

I don't remember exactly how long Blizz have had to sort out this pile of trash, but they're obviously not interested. The Q is bugged to f***. It takes ages from the morph phase (when you become the flaming beasty) for you to actually begin zapping the Gobs, then if you use the speedy 'wipeout all in your path' button you have to be careful not to exit the Q area or you'll be reset & have to start from where you left off (complete with the lag time).

Along with the long delay bug, it also didn't give me credit toward completion for my 4th Alliance War Effort world quest today. Now I have to do a 5th one to get my faction reward... Sigh.. Ahhh, well... I'll beat up some more beasties!

so, 10.0.2.somethingsomething. quest seems to still be buggy.
what i did was running around like a headless chicken, punching very button (well, 1+2) and then - nothing happend. surprise.
BUT, when i did check this out on wowhead, standing around some goblins, suddenly the counter went up. after that, everything worked as expected.
i dont know what it is, but maybe if you do this quest, just relax for a second. i would suggest, using 2 (the wave) and running through some goblins. then, maybe drink a glas of water (stay hydrated my friends) and when you see the counter going up, proceed normaly. its not that bad. its just weird. i think it has to do with the amount/density of mobs that are suddenly loaded in that particular zone. but who knows.
