The Tools of the Trade: Tailoring Questline starts at Kul Tiran or Zandalari Tailoring Skill 150. Upon relogin into the game or leaving the area and returning to the trainer, next time you will see Timeweaver Delormi near the trainer. She will provide the quest titled A Friend in Needle.

encountered numerous glitches with these quests. First was during step into her shoes, after going through the portal you don't get credit for going through the portal.
I fixed this with a simple logoff and login.
Second is during saving nine. after closing all but one of the portals and accepting the quest, the last remaining portal disappears. I haven't been able to fix this one yet. I've tried turning off all addons, dropping the quests, walking a good distance away. exiting. everything I could think of. If you encounter this you may need to open a ticket.

edit: I received a response for the ticket I opened about this. Blizzard has not yet decided to mark this quest for autocomplete. They have received numerous reports, and the bug team is working on it. In the meantime they suggested links to wowhead where other players have commented possible workarounds. :) You guys.... they linked me to my own comment XD

So to update, if you drop, repickup at boralus, and make it back to the island, some have reported to be able to take the rift. If it is still glitched and not showing up, we currently have no fix, and I expect we wont have an update until the next maintenance.

So for Saving Nine, found myself in Northrend. Quest didn't show as progressing from needing to enter the portal, which I'd done. I hearthed back to Boralus, and then exited the game and came back in. Went around to the tailor spot in Boralus and found Delormi standing there with the quest completed. Went back to the Dragonblight for Killing Time.

When I went through the portal, it never recognized that I went through the rift. I tried dropping the quest. I was able to pick it back up at the tailoring trainer again. In the end, I took the quest and flew to Seeker's Vista, Stormsong Valley. From there I was able to use my water strider and ride over to the island way off the coast of Stormsong Valley cords are 7, 24.. I am submitting 2 screenshots. One of the Stormsong map with the location circled and another of the full island of Kul Tiras with the location circled. When I arrived, the quest giver was still there and I was able to once again take the port/rift and get credit for it.

TLDR: Location Stormsong Valley 7, 27. If you drop the quest - pick back up at tailoring trainer.

I present to you Tailoring Questline in BFA 8.1.5. You have to do 11 Quests after finish chain you will be able to do Synchronous Thread. To start This chain you need to have profesion on maximum.

This step bugged for me - I was teleported but didn't receive completion credit for using the portal. A quick relog didn't fix it, but when I logged back in a couple of hours later it had completed and I could move on to the next step.

I can add to this as someone who also had this quest bug out with no portal to go through.

So I bugged out in the same way Badatnames did. And tried the same steps to fix it, with no result. I put in a ticket (first response sucked, he didn't read what I typed and just copied the post here even though I said I did that already, and even included the mistake of saying 'Boralus' when I'm a Horde and can't go to Boralus to pick up) so I submitted a reply.

I asked to get reverted back one quest level to "Seam Stress" and this fixed it! I was able to re-do Seam Stress and close 5/6 portals and turn in and proceed to complete Saving Nine.

My theory: When re-doing Seam Stress I noticed that after closing 5 portals, the quest NPC updates and allows turn in and removes the quest item preventing you from closing the final portal.The day that I first did it, latency was a factor and I was able to accidentally close the 6th portal before the NPC caught up and allowed turn-in. After turning in, there *is* no 6th portal and we're stuck where I was the first time.

To prevent it: close only 5 portals and wait until turn in becomes an option DON'T CLOSE THE SIXTH PORTAL if you have the option to do so. If it doesn't progress to letting you turn in with one portal open or if all portals are closed, don't turn in Seam Stress, drop and pick up the quest again and close all but one of the portals again.

Ideally this is fixed and Saving Nine simply spawns a portal if you've closed them all. Another idea for a fix is simply making the quest requirements be "Close 5 portals" and add a tracker for progress of "x out of 5 Portals Closed" when 5 out of 5 are hit, advance the quest state. Same as what it does now but communicates the intent to the user better I think.

I've submitted this as a bug.

After accepting this quest, I went through the portal and it glitched like others have noted. It did not give me credit for using the portal and the NPC did not appear. I logged out, then back in, and she was there and I was allowed to turn in the quest and continue.
