Experienced a major issue with this quest.

1) Acquired the quest from Shandris Feathermoon aboard the ship.
2) Jumped off the ship to head to the pickup area.
3) Got to the pickup area but the pickup didn't trigger.
4) swam around for 10 min trying to figure out if I missed something
5) Decided to drop the quest and try again.
6) Big problem. Once you're in the water, there's no way to get back
on the ship to reacquire the quest from Shandris.

There needs to be a ladder or some way back on to the ship.
Reported the issue but nothing's been done yet.

The entire war questline is broken if this isn't fixed.

Kill Blood Prince Dreven then jump from the ship in water.
Swim away until Signal Falstad extra button appears.
Use it and Falstad will come to the rescue.

To complete the quest you need to slay Blood Prince Dreven.
Simple follow Shandris and assist her fighting Blood Prince Dreven.
Dont panic when Dreven casts a shield, Shandris will break through it.

After you get picked up by Swiftwing after you jump off the boat, immediately look to your right for the quest turn in. It's not readily apparent that Shandris is flying next to you.

If you are having trouble finishing the last part, signaling falstad, because the icon isn't showing up, the following worked for me...

Jump off the boat and swim to the middle between the two boats. Que for an arena skirmish and then dominate the other team(or just leave lol). When you leave the arena and load back in, the icon was there for me and I was able to complete the quest.

Another quest that for some reason separates you from your group mates in the middle of the chain.... where'd my friends go!

I've never encountered so many broken quests than I have with BfA...none of the workarounds here worked for me, and I'm not joining an arena skirmish because blizzard programmers don't consistently debug their code and QA quests.

If you abandoned this quest in the lower level of the ship guess what? A magic barrier prevents you from going to the deck to re-accept the quest. You can jump out a window into the sea and (hopefully) a button will show up above you action bars to launch a flare where you will get picked up and can once again land on the deck of the ship to re-do this quest.

Once done, head for open water and use the action button that (again, hopefully) appears.

When she was flying next to me, she was too far away at some points to right click. When the group turns, she gets a little closer for you to be able to click complete quest.

Had the most difficult time with this, as Dreven just kept kicking my butt. Finally got him by watching my threat and staying under Shandris, until Dreven was down to 75% or so and Shandris stopped dropping him any more. Then popped all my cd's and blew him up - once he shielded I was good, just had to wait for Shandris to finish him. Maybe specs with better self heals don't have this problem? Dunno but he wrecked me if I got and held aggro. Arms War here, good luck!

So, Had no issues whatsoever in running this quest line, until leaving the ship and looking for the action button. Once pressed, DO NOT RETURN or click 0.

The night elf will fly up beside you momentarily, in which you may turn this quest and continue with her back to Boralus Automatically.

I made the mistake of being too hasty, and having to consult a Blue when I couldn't find the turn in, and the Blue wasn't able to understand my issue, thinking that the action button was missing when that wasn't the case. Not their fault, they still attempted to help me the best they could. Just wanted to share to allow hasty people like me to move forward!

To get back on to the ship where there is no ladder, in this quest.

So>>>
Your in the water and you cant get back onto the ship.
Your flying and cant drop over the ship>>>
Keep Calm.

Your at the front of the ship swimming >>>
Keeping a central line from the Stern known as the back of the ship to the Bow also know as the pointy part of the ship.
(The stern is the flat upright, vertical, part of ship at the back that comes out of the water).
(The central line, Bow to Stern or Stern to Bow, is known as the Keel Line).

Still swimming>>>
Swim away from the boat in that central line, Keel Line, until you can use the extra action button, the "Griffin Flair Button" to pick you up out of the water.
If you need/want extra time to dropping on to boat keep as above but swim further away from ship!

Do so. Use it! >>>
(The Griffin will fly the full length of the ship if you want)

When on Griffin>>>
Use the action button when on the Griffin to exit the griffin when you are over where you want to be dropped off.
(You want to be dropped off at the front, of the ship next to the quest receiver next to the mast.)
A ladder would be helpful, but not necessary. It's just Blizz having a laugh as normal.
Job done.

PS. If you don't do it in time....go to far!>>>
Use the exit vehicle button.....and start as above but swim further away from ship!

If you are in the water, just swim towards the yellow arrow on the mini-map. The button will appear :)

OK. I was wandering around the ship thinking about what to do. You need to jump off the the ship and you will get a boss button. This is a how you make a signal for Falstad.

Sadly, broken pick up point. I'm grouped, my partner got the extra action button yards away from the ship. No where NEAR the ? marker on the map. Ok, I ride my water strider standing ON the pick up point and still no extra action button. I haven't the vaguest idea what to do now. Ride BACK to the ship? I'm sure if I port out, I'll be redoing the quest. That's IF I can get back to the ship. So, I'm going to try just riding back and forth from the pick up point to the ship until the damn extra action button decides it's time to show up.

Edit, it showed up when I got next to the ship again. Why put the quest marker that far away from the ship when the action button opens up NEXT to the ship? These programmers are morons!

I realized that being able to swim here meant that they had to raise the bottom and make it a non-fatigue area, so I took my Underlight Angler and swam around down there. It's a pretty big area to accommodate the ships and to catch the player if they exit in the holding pattern. There's Coralback Drifter and Coralback Hatchling sea turtles, hostile Deep Sea Sharks, and Brinenose Sifter and Brinenose Calf dolphins. There are ambiance shipwrecks and typical varied ocean terrain. Nothing you can enter, because why would they waste time with that?

However, I also went to the very edge of the area and swam down for quite a distance. BIG MISTAKE. I was insta-killed with no warning at all. When you release however Blizz was nice enough to think ahead and just place you right at the surface.

Made the mistake of jumping out the window after killing this guy thinking quickest route of escape! Couldn't get back in or on the ship. I think you have to wait til Shandris escapes by running out of the ship before the flare button appeared. I mounted on waterstrider and wandered around the boat with nothing happening. Be patient, button showed up eventually

I was very satisfied when Shandris actually killed the Blood Prince. I anticipated that the fight would end with him saying some form of "Enough of this!" and turning & leaving before he could be finished off (because you know how "getting bored of battle" is the most effective way for a villain to become invulnerable/unkillable), and when he started casting his escape spell I rolled my eyes & said "here we go." Then BOOM SLICE SPLAT and he's laying dead at my feet, and I /applaud Shandris. What a relief.

Awful game design on this quest. Swam all the way out to where the marker is on the map and got no button. Swam around for 10 minutes before I realized all I had to do was swim to the backside of the boat. Nothing indicates that it is that close.

If you're like me and ran all around the boat looking for the prince: it turns out you had to follow Shandris after picking up the quest from her. Simply abandon the quest and go back to where shandris is, she will have the quest for you again. Pick the quest up again and now follow her. She will dispel the red barrier that had previously blocked one of the doorways on the ship and you will now be able to go down together with her and fight the prince.

Word of advice. They will tell you to escape the ship and signal Falstad. If you're like me, you probably thought to escape the hold and go back up top. All you have to do is jump off the ship and swim to the backside. A usable ability will appear on the screen allowing you to signal Falstad once you're in position.

Description

Blood Prince Dreven has barricaded himself in the lowest deck of this ship. He's trapped down there. Don't think that makes this easy for us. A cornered beast is more dangerous than a free one. But, if we have the will and wisdom, he can be slain. Follow me. I will break the barrier blocking his lair and we will face him together.
