I never could get the game to proc the quest completion target even though the question mark was on my mini map. Anduin was right there at the table and just kept repeating himself.

if your wondering when this quest will be available: The Burning of Teldrassil questline will start on July 24th and continue over 3 weeks which will reward the War-Torn Reins of the Undercity

So I have accepted the quest, went to Stormwind and tried to talk to the king. I see the question mark on my mini-map but he has nothing over his head and does not complete the quest when I speak to him. What am I missing?

Once you've completed the following Darkshore quest lines, you can actually talk to Anduin again and skip the introductory quests and go straight into the following world quests. THE EXCEPTION is that you must talk to Anduin BEFORE you complete the quest with Mathias Shaw. If you finish Mathias's quest then you will HAVE to do the entire Darkshore quest line to unlock the world quests.

TL:DR - Do it on 1, click "I've seen it.." from King Anduin on your Alts and you can now see WQs on those alts.

If you're here wondering about life, the universe, this quest, and Alts, well here's the deal.
Do it on a heavy duty toon so you can plow through stuff. After that, the WQs should be available for ALL toons on that account.
(However, I haven Not been able to find out for how long the WQs be up but I digress...)

Subsequent alts can now, after accepting the Summons to the King, go to SW and click on him (assuming Horde is exactly he same).
There should be a "I have seen this already..." option.
What that does is, it allows all of your Alts so skip doing all the little quests and <poof> You are Immediately transported to Darkshore via Ruth'ren Village.

From there, any WQs that are up should be visible to said Alts and you can actually get some decent gear, particularly if it's not a decked out Alt. Even my Druid who was ok-ishly equipped found upgrades so they are worth doing. Enchanters can just DE what they don't like.

One caveat though is, when you do all of the Pre-Quests, you DO get Alliance rep. But I have yet to see any rep at all on the WQs :/ Enjoy and Flag for a more challenging experience :)

This is the beginning of the story line for the BfA prepatch, it will be released in weekly segments.

When you have completed this story on one character you can bypass this chain and skip directly to the World Quests on other characters by turning in this quest, accepting The Horde Uprising, and then talking to Anduin again. An option will be presented to skip the story. Do not complete the quest to talk to Matthias Shaw. If you complete The Horde Uprising you will be unable to skip these quests and must complete the story line before being able to do the World Quests.

Funny stuff, I had an alt that still had Summons to the Keep in their quest log. SO Velen and Genn talk smack abut Anduin when he's supposed to be out of the throne room, but his current self is present for the new 8.0 quest line.

So if you do the old questline, you can eventually have Disguised Anduin eavesdropping on the war room meeting, while Current Anduin sits on the throne.

Just a note to those who have both ally and horde chars, you have to do the questline on each of the faction to be able to skip their relevent questchains. If you only do horde chain once, you can only skip on horde alts.

If you haven't already, head to Silithus to talk to Nolan Speed, and "Show me the events that brought the Alliance to Silitus." That's the video cutscene for the now departed Gifts of the Fallen. Then pick up Free Samples. The pre-BfA chain will make more sense if you do that final Legion chain first.

• Accept the quest, A Short-Lived Peace, which is automatically granted after logging in during the Battle for Azeroth Pre-Patch.
• Travel to Stormwind City, and enter the Stormwind Keep at coords 85.6, 31.8.
• Turn in the quest to Anduin Wrynn.
