Simple quest, find Lost Alpaca nearby and use Ultra-Safe Electrified Alpaca Lasso.
Then bring captured alpaca to Zoidfuse. This funny thing will be a member of your group.

This quest seems bugged. I rode in with the alpaca. Got the quest completed. Tried to turn it in while the alpaca rode in another direction.
After turning it in I was still attached to the alpaca with the lasso. Couldn´t get rid of it. Finally I hearthstoned out:-(

You may not be mounted while attempting to throw the lasso. It will not work.

For me, this quest bugged out, item says I can't use it yet. No relog nor abandoning the quest seems to fix this. It's just completely broken.

This alpaca s..ithead kept pulling me all over the place but I kept pulling it to the target direction whenever it stopped pulling me. It was annoying but I completed within 5 minutes. I do not see how to mount the alpaca as the lasso would only help me pull it (or rather the alpaca pull me back haha). Just persist and keep pulling it to target whenever you can. Eventually you get there.

Have been running around this quest area for 15 minutes, have abandoned quest, relogged, accepted it again, even left the area but not a single alpaca to be seen. There are no other players in the area. So now I'm stuck on the war campaign.

--Update; ticket was answered by a gm. Like some have mentioned before, it's a WQ that is causing these alpacas to disappear. They're looking into it but we should be able to continue our quests when the WQ isn't active.

I have completed this quest on my main, and I don't remember it being this challenging. I watched the videos posted here, but the mobs I see are not the same as the video. The landscape is covered by small and large scorpions as well as buzzards. I see none of those things in the videos. I have ridden inside the golden quest zone for over 15 minutes and no alpacas. It's not due to competition as I am the only person out here right now. Can anyone give me any hints as to what may be wrong?

When I did this quest months back on my priest and my warlock I had no issues finding an Alpaca to lasso. Now I am on another alt and it seems that there are no Alpaca's to be found anywhere. I spent hours running all over the place, even go way outside the possible quest areas to see if there were Alpaca's in other areas. I disabled my addons, I logged off then logged back on, I abandoned the quest and picked it back up, and still no Alpaca's anywhere. I think this quest must be bugged. I have submitted a ticket. I don't know what Blizzard did since months back, but even the mobs are different in the areas where the Alpaca's are supposed to be. Sigh...

It seems the Alpacas are not spawning, while a Horde world quest is active. This is the response i got on my ticket.

"Hi there,

Thank you for reporting this issue and apologies for any problems this has caused you. We are currently investigating an issue with the Lost Alpaca's not spawning for the quests and

We have had some reports that the world quest in Zul'Dun may be causing this problem, so while we investigate and work on this bug, please check back tomorrow and if that World quest is not active, try once again. The Alpacas should reappear then.

If you notice any other problems with the quest, please also feel free to submit an ingame Bug Report, which can be routed to our development team.

Take care now and apologies for any inconvenience or hindrence this has caused you. Have a great day".

Your ticket has received the following response:

Greetings, Thank you for contacting Customer Support regarding the quests: They Have Alpacas Here and Alpacas Gone Wild. Due to a rise in complaints from Horde soldiers getting Alpaca spit over their blood soaked armor they began to release additional wild Scorpids and Buzzards in the area to cull the Alpaca numbers. Unfortunately this worked too well and this left no Alpacas in the region for agents of the Alliance to complete their War Campaign. At this time D.E.H.T.A. has been contacted and a plan to restore the Alpaca population in the region has been implemented and they should once again be found in the area.

On a more serious note, there is a known issue causing these quests to not be completed when the Horde World quest Wings and Stingers is available. Customer Support is unable to intervene at this time, however the Development Team is aware of the issue and working on a fix. Additionally this World Quest is no longer active so the Alpacas have once again returned to the area and these quests are able to be completed once again. We apologize for the inconvenience. If the provided information resolves your question, please mark the issue as Resolved. Your ticket was identified to be about the issue addressed above. If this is not the case, please respond so a Game Master can manually review it. Thank you for your time and patience.

I was in the middle of reading the comments here, not moving my character, when my clingy alpaca just kind of let me go on its own - not sure if this will work for others but thought it was worth posting anyhow.
