Lady Meredith Waycrest can be found in the basement of Whitegrove Chapel.

Instead of heading up the stairs to where you met her and Lord Waycrest first, head down the stairs on the right.

I'm confused. Who exactly killed Roland the Knife? We went to the past to see how Alexander died, but we killed Roland there, but who did that in reality so that his corpse would be in the same place in the present time?

To find Lady Meredith Waycrest go inside the house and then into basement.
After finding her and Roland the Knife kill Roland.
You'll be returned into the real time, pick up Assassin's Orders

Find Lady Meredith Waycrest in the east part of Whitegrove Chapel house. She's in the basement, so go downstairs.
Then kill Roland the Knife and pick up Assassin's Orders when you return from the past.

After completing this quest chain return to Whitegrove Chapel house, go upstairs and loot the closet.
You'll get Lucille's Handkerchief, which allows you to return to Whitegrove Chapel past.

This quest bugged for me, possibly because I pulled an assassin into the room with me. After Roland died, I didn't come back to the present time; I just ended up in an empty basement. The solution involved two steps:
2. Logged out and logged back in and Roland the Knife and Lady Meredith Waycrest reappeared in the basement, doing nothing.
2. Walked back up the stairs then back down, which restarted their conversation and allowed me to kill Roland and finish the quest again.

Don't be like me... I killed the assassin but forgot to loot the Assassin's Orders from the corpse.

Any sympathy I had for Lady Waycrest pretty much evaporated here.

She's ALWAYS been a witch and a monster. Her current state is just... "cosmetic".

One thing I find odd...

If you're just viewing a memory here, who actually fought and killed Roland?

A: Don't go up stairs. Look to the right of the stairs, and go to the basement.

B: Don't forget to pick the scroll up after defeated the bad guy. It's not a loot item, you have to click it to pick it up off the corpse.

After you kill Roland the Knife, you have to click on the scroll to pick it up. It's not in the regular loot.
