Took me a while to work this out.

Once you've gotten your three power cores, run into the fel-green fissures on the ground. That will knock you into the air, granting you the %credit.

Don't forget to apply your borrowed DH wings (Extra action button).

After you get the 3 power cores from the wyrmtongue mobs, run in to the green pools to get boosted up in the air, activate your wings (extra action button) and glide in to the fel orbs to charge the power cores.

This world quest takes place in the area around the Tomb of Sargeras. The area is filled with Wrymtongue Engineers who drop the Power Cores.
Once you've collected all 3, just run into the bubbling green fel fissures and you will get knocked up into the air. Use your wings (by pressing the extra action button) and glide through the green fel orbs to fill up the completion bar. You will need about 6-7 to get enough credit and finish the quest.

If you have unlocked flying you don't have to use the fissure on the ground, but you can simply fly into the orbs. To actually trigger an orb it seems best to fly into it and wait a few seconds.

If you already have flying, as others have said, as soon as you get the 3 power cores just fly around the area until you see the green orbs. Fly up into the orb and wait about 2 seconds for each one. The quest will progress. Just keep circling till you find enough green orbs to complete.

Step 1: Kill the engineers to get 3 power cores
Step 2a: If you have flying, fly into the floating orbs to charge the power cores. Go to step 4
Step 2b: If you don't have flying, walk onto the glowing green circles in the area and they will shoot you into the air
Step 3: Use your extra action button to activate DH wings while in the air and glide through the orbs to charge the power cores. Repeat step 2b until fully charged.
Step 4: You're done!

HORRIBLE lack of quest description from the game. HAD to look up the comments here to know what in the world to do after collecting the cores. Thankyou everyone who explained it so well!

And here I was, carefully dodging the green orbs like a good little "don't stand in the fire" trained DPS. Oh, and also being totally puzzled by the "Sarah's Invisible Bunny (Medium)" NPC.

EDIT: lol sure, downvote this. Definitely worth the effort to tell me you didn't like my comment. I can't be the only person flummoxed by mousing over a green spark that turned out to be an NPC with a name like "Sarah's Invisible Bunny".

You do NOT have to launch into the air. You CAN run and stand in the green orbs that float to the ground. I did this for the majority of the quest, only accidentally launching into the air one time. Just standing in the green power globes was enough.(##RESPBREAK##)6152##DELIM##CalaelenDT##DELIM##

A follower that grants you an ability, can mask/replace the ability to use the wings, making it impossible (unless follower is unassigned) to grab the things in the air.

If you use flying, the best way to get credit that i can see is kinda come in from the top of it as if you were actually falling into it... seemed to work perfectly for me

Kinda ridiculous for Kor'vas Bloodthorn at the end to say, "Did you enjoy your taste of what it's like for a demon hunter to glide through the air, hero?" to a druid who just did the quest by transforming into a bird.

It's bad when the game makes me want to retort to the NPC, "You did see me FLYING right? On my OWN wings?"

it's bad when you don't know what to do on a quest, WoWhead is only good at quoting the quest tooltip, and comments don't just give it to you in a sentence or two of what you're supposed to do. After I get the 3 cores I do WHAT with them?

The quest bugged pretty severely for me today. After picking up the three cores, the game wouldn't let me pickup any of the glowing orbs: not with flight, not with geysers. no matter what, I'd pass right through them without getting credit.

A workaround I found is to find someone else doing the quest and tail them closely. When they pickup an orb, if you're right next to them, you'll get credit at the same time.

EDIT: Docnsane below is correct. Once you have your cores, you have to basically sit in each orb for several seconds to trigger it. I have no idea how you would do so without flying.

As of 7.2.5 I don't appear to get any credit from the orbs in the air at all, either by flying through them or by launching and gliding down. The only credit I seem to get is 10% per launch, making this quest even more confusing than it started.

If you "kill" the cannons, you'll likely take out all the engineers near them, but be careful, the explosion also stuns you.

If you're flying in the air and hitting the orbs (with 3/3 cores acquired), and you're wondering WHY CAN'T I COLLECT THE GLOBES? The answer is that you have to just float over the orb... until it's gone. It'll go away. Time varies. Just wait, and you'll snag your 10%.

Step 1: Fly through floating orb after collecting 3 cores
Step 2 :Fly through the same orb again
Step 3: Just alt tab out for 5 minutes on top of an orb until it finally registers
Repeat 9 more times.

so,my quest marker was extremely misleading,it was right over the entrance to a dungeon,so I thought I had to go into the dungeon. Turns out,I wasn't supposed to go in there for the world quest.
