You get this quest instead of Goddess Watch Over You if you haven't completed the main Val'sharah questline. To continue, you'll have to do the following quests:

Cenarius, Keeper of the Grove, starts from Malfurion Stormrage in Lorlathil. You can get there by choosing Val'sharah on your scouting map.

Archdruid of the Claw

After turning in the last quest, Goddess Watch Over You will be completed and you can turn it in at the Violet Citadel in Dalaran.

If you're wondering whether it's worth the effort: The whole "Light's Heart"/Illidan storyline is very interesting lore wise and it continues with a new quest in your order hall every week or so, giving a few 825/840 pieces along the way. I don't know if there will be a big end reward. (Only talking about the Light's Heart stuff, completing Val'sharah will obviously give rep and an 800 chest piece.)

This is turned in taking the portal within the Chamber of the Guardian, not the Violet Citadel. It is NOT unrewarding.

It is:
one of the Pillars of Creation you have to collect from each zone (usually at completion)

You get this at the same time you will get the quest Darkheart Thicket: Enter the Nightmare to run Darkheart Thicket.

As a note - you get this in your Class Hall - not in Dalaran. So if you are 110 and in Dalaran and not getting it, pop back to your class hall, and run into the room where the Light's Heart is.

I received this quest as an "Order Hall" quest. I found out you have to do the Val'sharah quest line in order to actually complete it.

I have no quests to do in Val'Sharah, I have no quests available in my COH either, or in Dalaran. I have every possible quest I can have right now and none of them are for the Val'Sharah main story line, but I'm 6/7 on my story progress. I have searched the entire area and I'm truly at a loss on this one... I need to get the Tears of Elune but I cannot proceed.

Can you People explain that to get the Tear of Elune item, you have to get on 53.5, 56 . After you complete all 7 Story progress to get the Pillars of Creation... The Tear of Elune, at the end of Val'sharah ( That's Val'sharah Folks! - 2 chapters don't count), awards the Chest slot

See Steiner's original post for an excellent writeup of where you are likely to be. One addition is:

3a. Return to the Grove / Return to the Grove / Return to the Grove

which was a convenient stopping point if you were opening up Dreamwalker Friendly rep for world quest unlocking, so you might be at this point if returning to the zone.

These are alternate breadcrumb quests so you would only have done one of them, test /run print(IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(38377)) to see if you have done the next step 4. The Emerald Queen

Still stuck in this quest line. Using
/script print(IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(QuestID))
to find where I am in the series. It shows TRUE up to 38225 Death to the Witchmother .
and False for all three versions of Return to the Grove, but when I go to the grove, Malfurion is not there.
All I find is Cenarious lying on the ground and Elothir, who has nothing related to the next quest.

Any ideas?

The game needs a built-in quest list.. Show all quests in a zone, with the completed ones highlighted. If any have prerequisites in other zones, they should have link items next to them that will take you to the listing for the other zone..

I've done this quest line on two toons so far, and it has been heartbreaking each time. Ysera has been one of my favorite characters, and to see the end of the final quest... Well, let's just say it is not something I plan on doing again, Order Hall progress be damned on all my other alts.

I handed in Kill the Witchmother but didn't get a follow on quest?
Return to the Grove is apparently the next one I need but I have been to the area the quest giver is in and...nothing?

I cannot speak for other classes, but death Knights:

your main campaign does not include this quest or even retrieving Light's Heart.

I finally did light's heart today and have had my campaign done for weeks.

Basically, I had the same trouble as others, when I tried to do this quest on my alt. (On my main, I do all quests, in all zones, and usually end up completing things that way.) Basically, before you can finish this quest, you must complete several other quests in Val'sharah. I used powdermnky007's scripts to find out where I was in the chain. (As it happened, I was at Softening the Target.) Of course, I didn't have this quest, nor was it available. I had a quest in Val'sharah called Dark Side of the Moon . I did it, which lead to several other quests, which eventually led to Softening the Target, and thus, getting me back on track of this chain.

So, if all else fails, go to Val'sharah and do the available quests. Eventually, you'll reach the end.

You have to put the tear of elune where the other relics are, you have to finish the quest up until ysera dies then just take the tear and put it in its place and that's it

Do you HAVE to do this on your alts to "unlock" their class hall properly? As in getting the broken shore follower?

I don't wanna do this quest on my alts and there's no other way to get Khadgar to piss off and leave you alone in your class hall. It's so obnoxious how he follows you at mach speed and always gets in the way of clicking on stuff.

This quest is only needed to complete the Light's Heart/Illidan questline, it doesn't gate anything else. I got a paladin to 110 without obtaining a single pillar of creation. Completed her class hall, recruited all available champions, completed the Broken Shore, obtained her class mount and moved onto Argus without having done this quest.

I go through the horrid scenario in the Exodar to find out I can't even complete this quest until I do the storyline quests in Val'sharah? THIS is why people don't like making alts Blizzard. People do NOT like going through the same time consuming stuff they ALREADY did on their main just to be able to finish a quest they ALREADY did on another character. This is absolutely pathetic and a complete discouragement in making more characters. You should NOT have to do all of the Val'sharah quests to finish a quest that was given to you before you even did anything in the zone. This is a poorly thought out quest line. Secondly, how the hell is anyone supposed to know they have to do the Val'sharah quests to complete this one unless they go outside of the game? Again, poorly designed quest.

I just boosted to 110 with the expansion preorder and I have this quest and have determined from the comments that I need to do all those quests near Lorlathil, but my question is, what does this end up leading to? Do I need to do it for anything?

PLEASE HELP! I have completed the Val'sharah stuff (all of That's Val'sharah Folks! and breadcrumbs) and placed the item in the Order Hall.

My add-on says Khadgar should appear near me and that item in the Order Hall to offer a quest. He's not there.

I've found him elsewhere in OH and Dalaran, but he's not offering any quest.

What do I do?

If you abandon this quest, you gain a floating crystal ball with Khadgar's head within as your pet in your class hall. What's not to like?

To get him to shut up without doing the quest, you need to mute the sound file 1467215, with MSF addon or by calling MuteSoundFile(1467215) somewhere yourself.

If you, like me, did not work your way through Val'Sharah on every toon you have, you may have been sent by Kadghar to fetch the Tears of Elune and found they were not there. Surprise, surprise--you hadn't put them there yet! While I tried to figure this out, I stumbled upon Malfurion hanging out in Val, and he offered me this quest: Cenarius, Keeper of the Grove. During the course of this story line, Xavius steals the tears of Elune. My thought was that I was going to have to go fetch them completing the instance. But no! As soon as I followed the story and earned the achievement That's Val'sharah Folks! That's Val'sharah Folks! the Tears of Elune appeared before me as a quest giver, which I greedily snatched up and scurried off to Dalaran with. As a 120 hunter, I did this, start to finish, in under 1 hour.

Seems I really messed up. Hope someone can help. Started questline Goddess Watch over you. Went to Lorlathil spoke to Malfurion Stormarage then did the quests for the first two Archdruids. When it came to Awaken the Arch Druid, I could not find the quest. Looked everywhere. I went back to Dal and to my order hall and abandoned the quest and picked it up again. When I flew to Lorlathil--no Malfurion, no quests for the first two Arch Druids. Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

You need to complete this questline The Fate of Val'sharah for the tears of elune quest to unlock, which will then allow you to complete the Goddess quest. Fortunately the questline ends right by the tears of elune.

I am working on getting the paladin class mount on an alt, and had no plans to do any of the pillars or creation or zone quest lines.
But this floating head bugging me every time I returned to Light's Hope Chapel was a real irritation.
I picked up the quest and "untracked" it to stop the bubblehead from showing up. I will eventually drop it once I have the mount. I don't expect to be returning to the class order hall after that.

This one took me about 30 minutes from start to finish (skipping cinematics, and also stopping to pick a couple convenient flowers)- it would have taken less time, but there were a few moments where I got lost due to the game not showing me low level quests (after UI update- Idk where they moved the 'show low level quest button' to), and also there's a couple quests where you have to wait on mechanic cool downs: Protecting Tyrande while she meditates, using the flayedwing to kill 50 demons, using Ysera's power to kill corrupted plants, etc.

I had been dreading this quest line because I remember it being such a slog, but this is pretty dang painless (duh, right, because Legion is like three xpacs away now), and a big huge thanks to Steiner14512 for the streamlined list.

You receive this quest as part of your class hall quest line, and no quest icon appears on the map to show you where to go. To complete the quest, you need to complete the Val'Sharah quest line up to and including "The Tears of Elune" quest line.

The quest line starts with the quest "Cenarius, Keeper of the Grove", which is given at location (54.6, 72.8). Keep doing the quests up to and including killing the corrupted Ysera dragon, hand in the "Tear of Elune" in Dalaran and then this quest will be completed.

Return to Khadgar in the Violet Citadel to complete the quest.

Everyone I talk to and the three times I've run Legion Class Halls, people get lost at the same point.

First - You will be given this quest, but then many other quests. Before you can even get to a point to complete the series of quests to complete this one, you quickly get lost in the entire process, especially since you are not given a specific set of markers or quest details.

Second - You should prepare yourself. All the other quests must be completed before this quest can be finished. It does not matter which class hall you are in; there are just enough differences between the class halls to confuse you. If you are a druid, expect even more details.

The key is to finish the main series of That's Val'sharah Folks! This series comprises seven "chapters" in the achievement. Each chapter is made up of about seven to eight quest series. If you have already made it through BfA, Shadowlands, or Dragonflight, you will understand the chapter's layout. It is just not as apparent here in Legion. Once you get to the point that only the Nightmare portions for your class hall are left, you will see the way to complete this one. With some apparent dedication, you can do them all in the day, but it does become somewhat tedious, so make sure to take breaks.

On the page linked above, you will find each section expressly noted with the quests.

One of the main places that people get lost is in the Archdruid of the Claw portion. You have gone with Cenarious, and he sends you off to heal several different druids. But there is no specific point where it tells you to return to pick up the next quest. The Archdruid of the Claw is where there is no direction to when the previous quest is done. If you heal the druids in the wrong order, it seems to be the problem. The last one is the closest to the quest giver. Specifically, the Archdruid of the video in this location gives you the starting point. But you will not find this starting point until you finish most other quests in the Val'Sharah Folks series.

Note: If you are doing this by just spending time here in between the current game content, spend maybe 20 minutes a day over here doing nothing but Order Resources and Legionfall Supplies quests. Depending on your Class Hall, you will need as many as possible. The final upgrade to your class hall costs 10k in Order Resources. You will not get enough with just this achievement of quests. If you have never played Legion or completed any quests, you must play through until you have World Quests open. Then, look on the map at the world quests in each zone and find the ones related to those currencies.

Also, when you look at the Temple of Elune, don't just look; go inside to the left or right and look around the wall until you see the alcove BEHIND the main facade of the front. Not behind the building, just behind the wall that is made for secrecy.

Also, keep track of the Legion assaults. They are posted on the main page of Wowhead.com. Look at the "Today in WOW" and click on the Legion tab. Keep track of your assaults, and make sure you try to finish an assault in every zone.

Now, I am posting this the week they have announced the WorldSoul expansions for 2024. Blizzard has said that all content will now extend to all alts, but I'm not sure if they also mean it will be backward compatible.

With almost 20 years in this game (I played Beta in 2004), this is the most frustrating of quest lines. You will get lost because not every class hall is the same. NONE of them! Just take your time and use the achievements for Legion Class Halls as your guide. Search on Wowhead for the individual chapters within the Achievement, which will get you many of the answers you need.

Description

I may have found a "key" to unlock Light's Heart, <name>.

I was going through some ancient cosmology tomes when I stumbled upon a passage indicating that the prime naaru may have been created by Elune during the great ordering of Light and Shadow.

If Elune did create Xe'ra, then it stands to reason that we could use the Tears of Elune to unlock the secrets of Light's Heart.

Now it falls upon you to recover the Tears of Elune from Val'sharah.
