Corpse despawns after you beat Odyn. Double check you actually looted it from him. Something went wrong with the looting for me and I couldn't loot it afterwards, nor was it sent to my mailbox after leaving the dungeon.

I didn't do any of the Essence quests from the Dreamway and I still completed the Order Hall Campaign and got the third artifact relic slot, skin and Archdruid title. I don't think these are required.

You have to join a group to Halls of Valor. Normal, heroic or mythic are all okay. Essence of Ferocity drops from Fenryr boss.
Dont leave as you got Essence of Ferocity, keep in mind that you also have to defeat Odyn - the last boss too, so you have to do a full run.

I see this quest marked available on my map, but the NPC(?) which gives it is not appearing for me in any spec. What am I missing?

Collect 1 Essence of Ferocity from Fenryr in the Halls of Valor, then prove your worth to Odyn.

Description

To find the essence of ferocity, you must seek a creature who has slain thousands, and is revered by even the gods.
