Two main "bosses" here - ghosts of Hataaru and Maraad. Hataaru does a rotating X shape spell which intersects with other X shaped fields - have to keep moving round him avoiding these. Maraad does standard "bombs" around him, then after a while he grabs Yrel and becomes undamageable - at this point you have to use his mace which is on the floor behind him to break this shield. After you're done there is a portal back to the entrance on the platform where you landed.

For those of you as clueless as me, you go to 46 74 just at Auchindown to do this quest.

I like this quest, simply because it actually sort of acknowledges the lack of closure with Maraad. I mean, you finish the Shattrath quest, Maraad's dead, and it's just sort of an "oh well, no time to mourn" moment. There's a wolf horde-side that seemed to get better treatment than Maraad before this.

The music that plays in this quest is perfect. It's melancholy and heroic at the same time. Crispin Freeman also proves once again how great an actor he is with Maraad.

I love this quest.

What hammer? I've gotten up to Maraad twice and get to the part of grabbing the hammer only to not see a hammer to grab. Thinking maybe it is bugged.

After meeting Tuulani and Yrel at the entrance, you enter a solo scenario that looks identical to the Auchindoun dungeon. You proceed through draenei spirit "trash mobs", a mini-boss, some more spirits, and then go to the central platform to face the spirit of Maraad. Various barriers divide it into sections but these won't be relevant to anyone without stealth - you simply go straight ahead until the teleporter to the central platform. You don't go into either branch of the dungeon.

Dialogue

Soulbinder Tuulani: Ah, welcome, Vindicator Yrel. I see you have come for Maladaar's trial.
Soulbinder Tuulani: The spirits sense your purpose. They already grow eager to challenge you.
Yrel says: It is my honor to face the heroes of the ancient past. They will not find me lacking.
Soulbinder Tuulani: Good luck, Lady Yrel.

Vindicator Yrel says: The Light protects its champions.

The entrance to the main vestibule opens!
Spirit of Exarch Hataaru says: Yrel, this is how I always wished to see you. Do not let me down.
Vindicator Yrel says: Greetings, teacher. Let me show you what I have learned in my travels.

Spirit of Exarch Hataaru says: You have exceeded all my hopes, Yrel. You may proceed.
The barrier behind Exarch Hataaru slides open!

The teleporter to the central platform is now active!

Vindicator Yrel says: Now, to lay Maraad's ashes to rest.

Spirit of Maraad says: Yrel... how you have grown since last we met. But... is it enough? Are you worthy of leading our people?

This bugged out for me today. I would click on Start the trial of faith and nothing would happen.

Had to run away and come back and then the scenario window came up.

If you're playing with a high dps character and just burst him down, the part where Y'rel is held up and you have to click on the mace doesn't happen. I did this last week with my disc priest and saw the added roleplay stuff but today I burst him down with my shaman dps and it just bypassed that part.

I am stuck with warrior. No hammer/mace anywhere and I cannot damage Maraad. He is immune to everything I throw at him.

I did some googling to try and find a solution for the issue where you can't see or pick up the hammer but couldn't find anything so I figured it out for myself and thought I might post here for anyone else who's struggling.

you don't have to reset the instance. once maraad is holding yrel and she tells you to take the hammer but you have no idea where it is or what she's talking about, just type "/target hammer" (without quotes ofc) and you should find it right in front of them.

my problem was that I couldn't interact with the targeted hammer and couldn't see the hammer itself - just the green circle indicating where it should be. so I went to game menu > key bindings > targeting and scrolled about three quarters of the way down until I found "interact with target." I clicked the "not bound" button and then pressed a key that I hadn't used for anything yet (for me this was the tilde key next to the 1/! and if you've never set key bindings before, be careful not to use a key that you need for other things like moving, fighting or opening screens; if you've set a bunch of key bindings before and have run out of free keys, just change one temporarily). I then left the game menu, typed "/target hammer" again, pressed the tilde key that I had bound to the interaction, and voila! smacked maraad in the head and moved on with the fight. after that it's just finishing the fight as usual, waiting out some dialogue if you care, and then porting out.

The teleporter to the central platform is behind the round platform you reach after clearing the trash after Hataaru, making it hard to spot. There are spiral stairs at the sides, leading down to the teleporter. Yrel is supposed to run down and teleport to the central platform after clearing the trash, but in my first attempt she apparently bugged out and just stood there.

I didn't see the hammer, was playing a paladin, (wondered if it was supposed to be one of my hammers I was to use) finally reset, went back through the trash mobs and when Marad picked Yrel up moved away so I could see where she threw it.

Clicking on it throws it at him and ends the fight but the info about keybinding and targeting was useful. I had tried using tracking to find the hammer, but the keybinding plus tracking was the way to go.

It also was helpful to mention the portal.

Can't enter the scenario as a level 110, "You do not meet the requirements for the chosen dungeons.".

Might be possible to enter if you tag along with a level 100 character with the same quest. Don't know how to do it otherwise.

I'm having a problem with this quest as well....

When I try to enter after speaking to Soulbinder Tuulani, it goes straight into the normal dungeon. I have tried backing out, and speaking to her again, but get the same results. If I RUN the dungeon, when I try to enter it, it's just as if I had never left after completion. The scenario that is supposed to appear for Yrel's trial never shows up at all....let alone having the issues that some of you seem to have had. Any suggestions?

finished all three trials and they show as completed "ready to turn in" went to 75 / 58 to turn in but nobody there

if I back out to the balcony on the right, the three yellow question marks show up on the the three images of the exarch's and yrel but when I advance
back into the circle, they disappear.

the defence of karabor shows up as a quest to be completed.

do I have to complete this quest b4 handing in the 3 trials?

If you are like me who abandoned this quest to play it again but could not see Exarch Maladaar back at Elodor, you need to abandon all three trial quests before the three exarchs will spawn together to give you the quest again.

Description

No Exarch trial is complete without a holy pilgrimage to the sacred resting place of our fallen champions.

On the way, I ask that you take Vindicator Maraad's ashes and lay them to rest within the hallowed halls of Auchindoun.

There, the spirits of our fallen ancestors will test Yrel's greatest weakness.
