Due to the speed with which the targets move, hitting them can be... annoying, even with a 100 yd range. I recommend the following macro:

/cast SGM-3
/run UIErrorsFrame:Clear()

Spam that even when you can't see them; if you pick a good spot, there's an even chance one is around, just not in your field of view.

can't seem to find the prereqs to be able to pick this quest up. can anyone help? fwiw, i can't pick up "blinding the eyes in the sky" either.

One of the pre-reqs for this quest is Raise the Barricades. As soon as I turned in that quest, Korm finally let me pick up this one. I'm not sure what else might be a pre-req, though.

This quest becomes available as a daily when you finish the quest: Blinding the Eyes in the Sky.

An extremely quick way to do this quest is to use a ranged ability to tag the mob first, then using the cannon to finish off the plane. As a Mage, it's easy to Fire Blast them, and blink near the ground. By doing this - you get double the credit for the kill - so you get 2/6 instantly. Only 3 planes are required to be killed this way.

Just figured out that using this macro would be nice, tried it... and the quest was piece of cake with it.

Macro i use, it's almost the same as the ones above but it gets rid of the annoying thing when my character kept on trying to shoot the thing at fighters i've already killed

Great macro suggestion, this quest went from a pain in the ass to EZ mode :)
It still targets dead recon ships but they despawn fast.

46.2, 43.4 great spot. you can see them coming and almost don't need to use the macros.

edit: 51, 45 is another great spot. near where they spawn.

Did anyone do this quest post-4.0.3a?

I currently have this quest in my quest log however it doesn't seem any of the aircraft are spawning. I've tried several spots, macros and I got nothing. :(

Use the SGM-3 to destroy 6 Skybreaker Recon Fighters, then report back to Sky-Reaver Korm Blackscar aboard Orgrim's Hammer.

Description

The Alliance is tenacious, I'll give them that, but it'll take more than that to stop us. Take this SGM-3 with you and shoot down the Skybreaker's recon fighters once again.

I doubt the message will get through their thick skulls, but there are enough missiles to keep trying to get our point across. Go and find their fighters flying above the Valley of Fallen Heroes, west of Aldur'thar, and don't come back until you've made wreckage of them.
