This NPC and quests are available to both Alliance and horde players - The quests for The Oculus start at the Coldarra flight path.

There is no way for wowhead to tell if the quest is for both factions unless a horde player uploads his data. That's why a lot of quests are labeled as alliance or horde only, because data from both factions hasn't been uploaded.

You turn this in back @ the camp -- but you can't fly on your drake there (invisible wall is hit if you try) -- you have to go back to the start and use the 'orb' that is sitting there to transport you back out of the instance -- save you time from hearthing and flying back just to turn the quest in.

our if you have your dragon you can go jump off the legde and you get portal to the beginning of the instance out side

You stay mounted on your drake at this fight.
We completed this with a quest geared group; had two red drakes for tanking, two greens to heal and one yellow to dps.

Did this yesterday - Seems if you use the bronze drake, and hit him a few times with the new ability you get just before the final boss, and then hit him with the original damage ability, you can do over 100K of damage in *one* shot.

(For the horde in the audience: F3, F3, F3, F1. *boom*) :D

I don't care if you're a lvl 85 well geared raider with the highest tier of gear that World of Warcraft has to offer, there's absolutely no way this quest is ever gonna let you do it completely solo! You're gonna have no choice, regarless, but to form a 5 man group to to take down Ley Guardian Eregos as he has 2997K health as it is and the only way to defeat him as he is flying is to fight him on lvl 80 dragons (the ones with the color names)! So it will be impossible to solo him even with a full top-tiered traiding-geared lvl 85 toon with everything maxxed out! So the best thing to do is to spam trade chat and ask kindly to have other players help you out in this one!

I forgot to turn in this quest when I did it back in wrath, now u have to kill the 2nd boss before u can turn it in.

I just soloed this as a lvl 90 Arcane Mage (Vashj/MeanMaggie). Mounted the Red Dragon and fought until my dragon was getting weak, then flew down to the round center platform immediately below Eregos. I dismounted and was able to fight him directly. I mirror imaged and spammed Arcane Blast, followed by Arcane Missiles and Arcane Barrage. I had to use Evocation as I was low on health and 2 mana gems, but killed him with about 10% health left. I was wearing lvl 476 PVP gear and had Mage Armor and Arcane Brilliance buffs.

Let me be the first to say this is almost impossible to do in a dungeon finder group while leveling.
Nobody seems to remember the fight at all, and those that do leave right as they get into the place.
For those of you unlucky enough to find yourselves trapped in a group for The Oculus on your way to 80:
Good luck. You'll be needing it.

Soloed ar a L100 Hunter. I just landed on the platform underneath Eregos and hit him with a couple arrows.

Yeah... I'm bugged right now, i killed him, without flying on a drake, got the credit for the quests completion, even got the achievements for killing him without any of the drakes, but in Coldarra i can't turn it in... he's not offering completion, anyone have any idea why? or did i have to mount up, Attack, dismount, mount up, and attack him till he was dead?
