Remulos failed to send me to the Emerald Dream 3 times in a row. I aborted reaccepted the quest. At last I went out of the "Shrine of Remulos" subregion and went back in, aborted the quest, stood close to him and re-accepted. I don't know which part of it did it but all of a sudden it did work :)

Right-click the buff to "pinch" yourself.

As of build 8970 the emerald nightmare is a debuff. It still says right click to pinch yourself but cannot be right clicked. Log out then back in to leave the emerald dream.

Build 8982 you can right click the dream off now, and it's now a buff not a debuff.

Ok, there is some usefull information..

You speak to the lady, remember to dismount first.
Stand on top of her, and then speak to her, she will make a portal to you, to Moonglade.
Take the quest, and you will be put into a sleep, where you have to find some small acorns, 3 of them, they are laying around the questgiver .. not hard to find.
When your done finding them, you have to rightclick on the buff, to get out of it, before you can return your quest.

After that, you get a new quest, and you will get a portal back to Icecrown again.

The Emerald Dream is ment to be a green version of Azeroth, although some things are missing, because everything is more natural in the dream.

Don't "pinch yourself" while still in combat... it will glitch and you won't be able to take the portal out, or hearth, or logout. Had to Alt+F4 out.

Another of those quests where you get to fight your "evil self". The flowers turn into a copy of whatever in the party aggroed them first, and also they reflect that person's form at the time they were aggroed, eg. ghost wolf in my case.
If a totem aggroes a mob, the flower will take totem form, with slightly comical results. I ran away from my malicious totem only to have it chase me along the ground.

When those Nightmare Figments attacked me they turn from a walking flower into second most hansom creature I ever saw walking on Azeroth! That was so shame I had to kill em to survive.

Everything worked for me, except the initial Moonglade portal took a few tries. Also, I've been at 2/3 acorns for some time and everytime I leave the area to find more I wake up. I died alt+tabbing to WoWHead this, now I search for the last acorn.

Well, the Emerald dream is the version of Azeroth wtihout interference from intellegent life. Moonglade is pretty much as it should be. It hasn't been faltered with too much, so it may look exactly like that in the Emerald Dream anyways.

ya thats the thing about this, i think it would be cool if the next expansion was the emerald dream but the emerald dream isnt a different place, its just azeroth but a different layer so if they did do it it would just be alot like azeroth or kalimdor, which is actually a sorta cool idea, but i doubt blizz would ever do that.

I thought I was gonna be slick and do some ganking while I was in Moonglade. I easily killed the guards that tried to intervene. However, since my DK was neutral with Cenarion Circle, I am now unfriendly and can't turn in the quest. That's karma for you.

Setting spell detail to high will make finding the acorns approximately 59348 times easier, as well as having color set to 24-bit or higher if available.

I can't right-click the buff cause it's bugged. So I logged out and relogged back in and it work I snapped myself out

If you get ballsy like I did and try to kill one of the elites you probably will. Easily solod as unholy dk. However once you try to walk past where it was standing you'll be ported out of the dream world.

Well, make sure that you have all three acorns before you leave. Because if you pinch yourself, leave the area, or die the only way I could find to get back into the Emerald Dream, is abandoning/accepting the quest; This will delete any found acorns you might have already gotten.

The Nightmare Aberrations are distributed in the radius of a circle around Remulos, forming a kind of barrier to keep you in the area to pick up the acorns. If you manage to sneak past them, you'll prematurely exit the Dream. If, at this point, you don't have all 3 acorns, you'll need to abandon and re-accept the quest (losing any acorns in the process).

Targetting yourself and typing "/pinch" does not work. You have to right click the buff to pinch yourself.

Malfurion obviously didn't read the tooltip on his Emerald Dream buff correctly, otherwise he wouldn't still be trapped in there.

That cheapskate Remulos didn't bother making a portal for me.. That's like the 4th quest that bugged out for me in the last 3 days, it really starts to be annoying.

Okay, I didn't get attacked by the 80 Elites, but when I walked past them, it ported me back to the Quest Giver and woke me up. Getting hit by one of those things must give you one hell of a hangover when you wake up xD

yeah i was a bit dissapointed i was really hoping to see a part of the real emerald dream, the one on youtube with the weird scenery. It's I think half finished, from what i have heard.You guys must really watch youtubes videos of early wow expansion concepts it has a weird looking bc too, not the one we have been through , and of course the real emerald dream which should be in the game but just near impossible to access.

Got a problem. I see the acorns lying on the ground, but they're not sparkling and I can't pick them up. Wathing others do it, but for some ridiculous reason, I can't. -_-

Omg this quest is totally bugged in 3.0.9. Ive tried 5 times, never even gotten close to elites and it keeps kickin me out. And it doesn't let me go back into the dream world. I have to abandon each time and lose the acorns. Just be warned this quest seems really buggy right now and try NOT to walk to far away from the questgiver. It may be better to wait for a respawn on the acorns.

Edit: Finally got it complete, and now the next part bugged and I didn't get a portal. It may be better waiting till 3.1 before trying this one. It's just too bugged at the moment.

Okay, that was wierd... my lvl 79 DK did this quest, got the acorns, but was killed by one of the big guys, and I was booted out of the dreamworld. I turned in the quest while in ghoul form and accepted the final quest. Only problem was then I could get no portal back... but no problems, I just hearthed to Dalaran and flew back to the quest giver. LOL!

NOTE: If you get hit by any of the mobs in the Dream, although they tend to miss a bit, you get sent back out and have to abandon/re-acquire the quest.

If you're a Hunter or Warlock, just make sure your pet takes ALL the hits, and you'll be fine.

For those that don't mind farming, the plants that are in the nightmare drop trash logs. These logs sell for 18 silver each and the plants drop them in stacks of 2 or 3 logs. So practically you are making 40 -60 silver every 5 seconds. Also it's on an endless respawn time. So a stack sells for 3g 62s. You can easily see that if you stayed here, basically forever, you could make some serious gold. so for every 40 seconds you making about 3g. Do the math and you'll see that if you stay here an hour ... This could be a very realistic way of making a mount in no time at all.

Obviously that guarantees we've still got at least a couple of expansions in the making.

Had an issue with accepting the follow up quest and the portal back to Icecrown not opening. Had to abandon, dismount, reaccept and then the portal was opened. However, in the original quest that brought me to Moonglade from Icecrown, I was mounted but the portal was still opened.

I had a few issues as well with this quest.
Nothing 'huge,' perse, but still, minor fixes Blizzard can surely fix quickly.
1. No "?" for "Arch Druid Lilliandra" when you try to find her at the start of this questline
Not sure why this was...
2. It took 4 attempts (Single Clicks & Requesting to be returned to the Arch Druid Lilliandra) before I was returned

Question:
Would it be wrong, to have a Mage / Druid port you back to Bridenbrad's location?
Could this quest have you give the coordinates or location and then port you back there?
Or is this unrealistic for a Class or Questing process?
Just wondering outloud...

For those that didn't know, this quest line was a dedication to a one Brad Bridenbecker, brother to Rob Bridenbecker VP of Online Technologies. Brad had suffered from cancer and was an avid WoW player. His brother requested some memorial be set up for his brother and Chris Metzen, along with others, thought up this quest line to immortalize his battle with cancer within our beloved fantasy realm.

Hats off to you, Blizzard, Chris Metzen, and the whole Bridenbecker family. As a childhood cancer survivor myself, you have my utmost respect and loyalty to your honor and vision. You've truly epitomized the struggle of one going through the sickness, the battle, in the most accurate way possible, and bring honor to all of us who have suffered, and have watched those who have suffered, the same battle.

He doesn't give you the option to go back in after you pinched yourself awake. I didn't gather all 3 acorns and had to bail because of the 80 elite, I talked to him and he doesn't give me the dialog option.

If you don't get the portal, DO NOT abandon the quest. Just fly or hearth out ... as you will have to anyway.

I had the same experience as stef0knee ... except when I abandoned the quest, it destroyed my acorns, and now I will need to hearth out of here, go back to Tirion and get the quest to go to Moonglade again; what a PITA.

You won't be able to do the quest if the event from The Nightmare Manifests is in progress because Remulos wanders off to fight Eranikus. Pretty rare, but if Remulos is gone, this might be the reason.

So as of the last patch, if you have a buffmod, you can't dispel effects, like costumes or buffs like Fitful Dream. Usually my solution is to logout, turn off my buffmod, log back in, dispel the buff through the native UI, then log back off and turn my buffmod back on.

As it turns out, when you log out and back in on this quest, it dumps you out of the dream and back at Remulos -- so there's no need to turn off your buffmod, just logout and back in on your character.

I had a Help Ticket open while doing this quest, and the stupid "You have an open ticket" box covers my buffs. I couldn't wake myself! Eventually made a dash to pass the 80 Elites, and woke up. Stupid place to put that help ticket box...

Don't know if it's a bug or not, but as of patch 4.2 there are no mobs at all when you enter the dream. Wandering off too far away still ports you back to Remolus though.

There are no longer any mobs in the Dream and, tho you can fly, you don't get far before you 'zone in' and awaken. Talking to Remulous will send you back into the dream to peacefully gather your acorns.

Now that there are no mobs to worry about. If you are having trouble finding the acorns, Zoom into first person viewing, the acorns seem to stand out better.

This quest is bugged. In more ways than one. When I was teleported there, I was UIdisconnected. Then every time I walk no further than 15 steps into the instance. it started me over.. After deleting the 3 folders, Yeah the Cache, Interface and WTF files. and restarting the game. I knocked it out in like 1 minute. all 3 acorns were almost within maybe 20 feet of the tree, in nearby bushes. Try restarting WoW if you have issues with this quest. or any quests that don't seem to be working right. Sometimes a UI discon. is triggered by a teleportation.

Disable the UI to remove all action bar clutter etc and move pretty slowly to speed up the finding process. The small brown acorns sparkle.

THIS IS HOW TO DO THE QUEST (enough with the above crap already!). Stand before the quest-giver Remulos, and you will be facing NorthWest. DO NOT STRAY TOO FAR FROM HIM or you will exit the dream. Circle around him without going too far away ! Grab the 3 Acorns and go back to him. There is no need to go further away than the distance to be close enough in case he let out a soft fart. And stay away from the freakin roads. They will also cause the dream to end.

I was having trouble spotting the acorns, if you are, look in the screenshots on this page; the "acorns" look more like pinecones. Also, I found zero acorns on the road side of the dream, I had to go behind where Remulos was standing to find any.

I recently tried to do this quest on my druid. I found there seems to be a bug if you have mark of the wild on, Remulous won't send you to sleep (give you his buff). So check to make sure you don't have any buffs on if it isn't working.

I did this quest today and the exp awarded upon quest completion has changed. It is now 17,650 not 22,050 as stated at the top of this page. Money awarded remains the same.

On my hunter alt, I had no issue except the acorns are tiny and hard to find. I increased the quality and the found the first one and then I knew what they looked like.
There were no mobs or any fighting. I was not surrounded by elites. looking at the previous notes, seemed to be buggy and maybe Blizz made it less complicated.

As of patch 7.0.3, the nightmare plants around the edge are no longer there. Interestingly enough, lore-wise this is the exact same place where we go to fight Cenarius in the Emerald Nightmare raid. The Rift of Aln that we jump into to fight Xavius is in the same location as the Moonglade lake in the Emerald Dream.

Keeper Remulos at Moonglade has instructed you to enter the emerald dream and recover 3 Emerald Acorns.

Leave the vicinity of the Shrine of Remulos to return to Azeroth.

Description

What we need exists only in the emerald dream... acorns that are infused with a powerful restorative magic. Many places in this sacred glade are closely tied with the dream, and my shrine is among them.

I will send you into the dream to recover some of these acorns. Be prepared though <class>, for this method of entering the dream is dangerous, and it is very likely you will be beset by nightmares.

Recover a few acorns quickly, and then depart from my shrine or pinch yourself to return to our world.
