This quest is only available for a short time during one of the phases of the Isle of Quel'Danas's reclamation.

Your PVP title comes before your name, so you should only have to choose between this, "The hand of A'dal" and "Champion of the Naaru" for the title that comes after your name.

Could someone give a definite answer to this please. We can all agree it needs Exalted reputation, but will it become obtainable when you get exalted, or do we have to wait until Phase 3 is over to purchase it? Or will it be obtainable when you reach Exalted?

Seems to me that the 1000 gold needed somehow contributes to the "costings spent to make the Monument", and therefore acts like a boost for the progress. Am I wrong here?

Seems to be another one of Blizzard's "gold sinks" in an effort to keep the economy some-what balanced. Though I don't see the point; it's just one step forward while making players able to complete 25 dailies per day was about six steps backwards.

Its too bad you have to wait till phase 4 to get the title. Nearly exalted so would love to get the title allready, just for the sake of it.

I wonder how long it will take for an average realm to get to phase 4 tho, at the moment my realm is at phase 2 with about 15% done, after 1 day. So like 6/7 days till phase 3, which probably takes even longer. So in total 3 weeks?

I actually like that they put it in phase four. I don't have time to run MgT so it gives me an opportuity to get exaulted before the title is actually available. (and an opportunity to save up to gold for my epic flyer and the title :[ , even though everyone and their grandmother will have it.)

Also: is it going to be a permanent quest or is it going to dissapear after a certain amount of time?

The title is available for purchase the moment phase 3 is complete, provided you have 1000g to sink and are exalted with the SSO. Anchorite Kairthos is located on the 3rd floor of the Sun's Reach Harbor building.

The money also seems to contribute to the construction of the monument by about 1-2%, because US-Proudmoore completed their monument within 1.5 hours of phase 4.

If you wish, you can buy the title after the monument is complete.

It might be worth getting (if you have the gold to spend) simply because there is a real possibility at some point in the future the title might not be available (like the old pvp system, champion of the naaru once the next expansion hits, etc).

I see no reason for having this title and wasting 1K unless there is a benefit somewhat in having it. Showing off that you have a title is not my way of expressing I have 1000gold to spend.

I only bought it cos i thought it won't be available after the monument is done but seeing that any with 1000g to spend can buy it kinda makes it not so special anymore... still i think it's one of the best titles in the game so i'm still glad i bought it :)

I find it interesting that most of the comments for this quest that praise the title have positive ratings while most of the ones that say it is pointless have negative ratings. Just because a post agrees with the commonly held opinion doesn't mean it is "insightful/funny," and just because a comment goes against the commonly held opinion doesn't mean it is "poor/redundant."

If you're in confilct weither to get this or save for an epic flyer, save for the mount. It's usefulness surpasses the title.

Plus with the flyer you can get your Outland dailys done faster!

This is quite possibly the stupidest idea yet from Blizzard.
We needed money sinks but at least make good ones!

Honestly, if this Title came with a non combat pet, like
a little shattered sun floating around you that gave off
light and somersaulted around, that'd be pretty cool.

But as it is, paying 1000g for just a title seems really
dumb.

We just hit phase 4 about 30 min ago. I did the title quest, but the paying 10g quest is now unavailable to me. I think that once you do the title quest, the other one cannot be done. I did notice though that we were at 5% completion of the statue after at least 2 players achieved their title.

What's the purpose of having a title next to your nickname? It says what type of player you are. Are you a: "Justicar" or "Conqueror"? You're a pvp enthusiast. "Challenger", "Rival", "Duelist", "Gladiator" or "Merciless Gladiator"? You're a truly skilled pvp player. "Champion of the Naaru"? You managed to complete the hardest heroics in the game (pre 2.4) and vanquished Nightbane, Gruul and Magtheridon. You are a raider. "Hand of A'dal"? You completed the MH & BT attunements (by killing Al'ar, Vashj, Kael and Rage). You're a member of a very good raiding guild. "Scarab Lord"? You opened the gates of Ahn'Qiraj on your server - you're the man!

And now for the "of the Shattered Sun"... You're so desperate to have a title near your nickname that you'd PAY for it in gold. I pity you.

Or it could mean that you're rich. You could throw it into a negative light as you just did or take a more realistic approach. If you're part of a good raiding guild Hand of A'dal only means you've gone as far as the first boss in Hyjal. If you have Illidan loot you don't need the title at all.

I've got Hand of A'dal and frankly I feel like it doesn't mean a thing. Besides, Sykik of the Shattered Sun just sounds so much better.

I just like the way the title sounds. I have Champion of the Naaru and Hand of A'dal and I just prefer (Name) of the Shattered Sun.

Also, just by doing the dailies needed to go from neutral -> exalted I made enough gold to buy and epic flyer, raid 5 days a week, and get this title with 1000g left over. I really can't see why every makes such a big deal about the title being a waste of money.

Indeed this title sounds better than the other titles in game at the moment. 1000g is not a big deal nowadays anymore. If you can't afford this title, or if you whine this is a waste of gold, it only means you don't know a thing about grinding money.

Either you get more money then i do or your stretching it a hair. If you do all the Shattered Sun dailies, to hit exalted from neutral your looking at right about 3k. I came back after a 6month afk with 12g, was at neutral and am now at 2600g after spending exactly 427g since my return. The only thing i've done for money is shattered Sun Dailies.

I know plenty of people that would buy 1kg for $35 USD in real life. Which to me equates to half a tank of gas in RL

Now making epic gems available for gold after this donation for like 150g per would make sense.

People say that this is a waste of gold on my server, but if you actually do your dailies every day this is easily affordable, and that is why Blizzard added it IMO. I bought this title after 3 days worth of dailies, and I started with something like 40g

Blizzard has a long history of adding benefits to reputation status long after players have already done the grind and sometimes after players can't do the grind anymore. Case in point: just today, in patch 2.4.3, they're adding a new vanity pet for players with exalted Shatari Skyguard rep. Another one from a long time ago: those who completed the AQ scepter quest and rang the gong during the opening event got a nifty legendary bug mount at the time, but several patches later Blizz added the "Scarab Lord" title for them.

I got the Shattered Sun title on my main toon solely for this reason, that they may take away the ability to obtain the title later and then add some other benefits in the future. Hey, with the dailies + mine/herb now I earn 200-300g an hour, not to mention more if I want to run on alts, so 1k gold is practically a drop in the bucket.

This probably won't be available later on post-Wrath of the Lich King. I'll be getting it once I get the reputation. Considering the ease of gold flowing in now? Why not?

Your titles are never replaced or lost. This title will be added to a list of titles you can toggle between on your character window.

I was thinking about getting this on my Paladin for my alliance alt but decided against it. I figured in about 2 weeks of dailies I'll have enough for my epic flyer and just wait until I get that then another week after that. I can afford the title. I still think that 1000g even with dailies for a title. You've been doing these dailies ALL THE TIME for these people give it out to me for free! Damn greedy SSO :P

Being exalted also gives you pendants and a shield you can buy which is great. But to purchase a title seems rather silly. My 2 cents.

Sure, 1000g isn't very hard to get.. 3 days worth of dailies (if you do all 25 dailies each day)... but thats several hours of time... and who knows when I'll decide that my alt I never play needs an epic mount too :P

If you can't find the guy you probably aren't looking in the right spot. He's at the very top of the inn (the third floor.)

Well, after grinding out reg MT I wasn't really expecting this quest to appear. (started playing near the end of BC) It'd be cool if it gave a Feat of Strength though, I don't think many people would know about how to get this anymore, or remember.

I also got this title today. I had actually been farming the heroic daily for the mount (which hasn't dropped). I got the pet, the bag, and the belf orb, though.
I didn't do any of the daily quests. I just did the instance over and over and over. You get a good amount of greens, and quite a bit of netherweave, so that's a bonus if you have a leveling enchanter or tailor.

Confirmed that the easiest way as of 4.1 to get this title is just to continously run The Magister's Terrace Heroic until your exalted then pay the 1000 gold.

I guess it doesnt matter much anymore, but when my brother went to get this title on his warlock, it read that it would give him the title "the Assassin". He logged out, went there on his rogue, but it was altered back to "of the Shattered Sun". Weird bug, I guess.

Do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT turn this quest in until you have completed the achievement Justly Rewarded (Make 30,000 gold from quests rewards). It will reset the counter to zero. There are also some other quests that have the risk of doing this as well, pretty much anything where you give gold to a quest giver. This apparently is a known issue (has been known for awhile), and they are "working on it." With a fix "coming soon."

My Loremaster and Bread Winner main, who has no quests to grind except dailies now has 0/30,000 gold for this achievement and I'm sol so to speak.

You can still turn in the quest as of 5.4. Something else to note I bought the title back in BC but just came to notice its gone and now I need to purchase it again so I'm putting a ticket in to see if it can be resolved. I'll update when I get a response.

If you are Druid and you were in Stag form like me, changing back to humanoid form makes the title to appear. Not sure why it glitches like this. Others had luck by logging out and then logging in but it kinda puzzled me why shapeshifting made the title to don't get recorded.

Can confirm that it still works as of Warlords 6.2.

NOTE: Title won't appear is your list until you Hearthstone/get out of the Isle of Quel'Danas. Might just save yourself and the GM some time.

Still available in Legion. I got Exalted back in BC but forgot all about it since 1000g was a LOT back then to be spending on just a title. If it's not on your list when complete the quest just log out and log back in. You're rested since you are technically in the inn so log out is instant.

You might have noticed Anchorite Ayuri's efforts outside. She has a big heart and is very convincing, but the donations do not quite add up to what she had expected.
