The laborer has a short patrol path near the entrance to the 'base' from the ramp closest to Private Weeks. The initiate is near the small pond of water; it'll look like it's casting a spell. The advisor is in the middle of the trashed-up building.

Be careful when entering the building because there's only one path to the middle of it, and if a hunter is inside, make sure you turn around quickly before it catches you.

If you get spotted by a hunter and lose your disguise, you can talk to Private Weeks again to get another one.

Shapeshifting as a druid will not remove the disguise, however it will make the NPCs hostile.

The Shadowy Initiate is a robed human, with a biggish blue glowing circle in front of him..
The Shadowy Laborer is a green troll that walks around (hard to miss).
The Shadowy Advisor is an undead right next to the "boss" in the big round building.

typing:
/target Shadowy Laborer every once in a while will help you locate him.

Druid fun fact:
If you accept this quest while in bird form (ofc after level 68) you will get the disguise, but still have the same movementspeed AND being able to fly while in disguise. Fun to fly as an orc! :D

This bug is found and doable as of 4'th of april 2007

Ok. Have one more thing to watch out. It happened to me. If you take damage from any mob at all, not just the hunters, you will lose your disguise.

Go to Interface Options and check "NPC names" under "Display".

This way, you will see the red-named hunters coming a mile away and will have plenty of time to hide. Also makes it easier to find the laborer, the initiate and the advisor.

As druid u can use stealth and u have track so u can wath up for hunters who will
attack u. As rouge u got stealth so easy there to and hunters got track. When u are shapeshifting in druid it u will still look like the same guy.

Also, Private Weeks can't apply the disguise to you if you're mounted. If you accept the quest while mounted, make sure you dismount to ask him for another disguise.

I found a chest in the big building, so i tried to open it, i could open it but it blowed my disguise, so do not open the chest if ur not done with the quest (i was), btw the chest was to the left in the big room with the advisor

Hunters: Go in with aspect of the pack since it's faster, but also whenever you see a hunter patrol, send your pet on him. You'll never get hit and so you'll never have to worry about anything.

Disguise info:

Your disguise will remain if you:
Blink
Emote
Feign Death)
Use Noggenfogger Elixir after disguised
(Druids: can remain in bird form)
(Hunters: pet can kill shadowy hunter as long as you dont get hit)

Buff non disguised characters.

You will LOSE your disguise if you:
Loot
Mount or accept quest while mounted
Get hit by any mob
Shapeshift
Enter combat in anyway
Can't talk to mobs while stealthed

P.S. You will leave combat if you have a Shadowy mob on you and ask Private Weeks for another disguise for those of you to lazy to kill the mob =).

This may seem obvious, but make sure you take the path very close to Weeks (it looks like a break in their wall on the minimap). I kept trying to go around to what I thought was a side entrance and I kept losing the disguise. I couldn't figure out if blink was suddenly removing it or what, before I realized I was heading in the wrong direction. They probably don't want people wandering around Shattrath in Shadowy Disguise, so its limited to the village and that path.

Be aware of where the patrolling Hunter is before you enter the "hut" where the Adviser is.

It's part of the route that he patrols, and he can give you a nasty little surprise by when you come around the corner.

Just watch him, and enter the hut after he exits it. That way, you have the entire length of time that it takes him to patrol around the little pond to go in and talk to the Advisor.

a couple things to note about this q

u wont recieve your disguise if mounted and u cant mount while in disguise
u will lose ur disguise if u engage in combat
once inside aviod the hunters they will attack u and ull lose ur disguise

I know it's been said before, but try and avoid the hunters at any cost. If you do die, it'll cost a hell of alot to repair. I got caught by the lake, and as you can't spawn near you're corpse (unless your particularly clever with stealth) considering you will no longer be in disguise, you'll have to let the spirit healer resurrect you.

The quests a bit of a pain if you get caught, but if your careful it makes for a good bit of xp. (And personaly I like the disguise quests myself)

*And it has previously been said that it is possible to shadowmeld as a night elf and remain in shadowy disguise but unfortunately it is not, nor can you shapeshift.

If you speak to the summoners and executioners they say some funny diologe and in particular the summoners reference murmur the final boss of shadow labs.

For the shadowy advisor, I flew through the top of the building. There is a large hole to drop down with. Killed the advisor first and then the bad guy. Then flew back up out of the hole. Didn't need a disguise, was a level 70 shaman dranei.

didnt get disguise so checked on here and realised i was mounted so abandoned and went back not mounted still no disguise did several times and still nothing. there was someone beside me having the same problem. seen this quest was bugged a few years back i assume it is again?

The disguise will also not be applied if you have Dark Apotheosis active.

This quest seems bugged. The laborer is not there when i was in disguise, when i was out of disguise, it was there working his ass off :-). So don't mind doing this quest.

As of 8/8/15 the quest was totally completable (for me) with no problems, including the laborer.

On avoiding the hunters:
There are actually TWO separate hunters walking around the camp, approximately opposite the town of each other. If you have NPC names displayed, everyone will have their names in green, EXCEPT the hunters, who will have their names in red, making them easier to track. You can select the option for this as follows:

Interface>Names>NPC Names>All NPCs.

Just do your best to keep an eye on them. Those of you playing hunter also apparently get the option of setting your pet on the other hunter; you should keep your disguise unless you get hit.

On getting the disguise:
I had no problems here. Just make sure you're off your mount and don't cast/skin/mine/etc. while you have the disguise on. Judging from other comments it's a LOOONG list of things that lose the disguise, so basically try not to do anything except from movement keys and clicking on the quest NPCs.

1. Who Are They?
• Accept the quest, Who Are They?, from Private Weeks at coords 40.4, 36.0.
• Make sure that you are not mounted, when accepting this quest. If you are, dismount, talk to Private Weeks, and ask for another disguise.
• Travel south (walking, not on a ground/flying mount), to Grangol'var Village, to coords 39.7, 39.8 (make sure to avoid Shadowy Hunter as they can see through your disguise).
• Enter the building, and travel to its center, and speak with the Shadowy Advisor.
• Exit the building, and proceed to coords 39.0, 39.7.
• Speak with Shadowy Initiate.
• Travel to the area of coords 38.5, 40.5.
• Speak with the Shadowy Laborer.
• Travel north to coords 40.4, 36.0.
• Turn in the quest to Private Weeks.

A few notes about this quest:

Entering combat will remove the disguise.
The Shadowy Hunters can see through the disguise, and will attack you on sight. They patrol around the village, so don't go afk.
Any enemies not in the village will attack you as normal.
You cannot mount while disguised. Mounting will remove the disguise. However, casting a mount will not remove the disguise, so you can cast a flying mount, and quickly fly away without worrying about getting killed.
If you lose your disguise, talk to Private Weeks to get another one
The Shadowy Advisor is the undead inside the building which has its entrance at 39.56, 39.72. There's a big purple rune at the entrance, you can't miss it.
The Shadowy Initiate is the orc casting a spell on a wooden platform by the lake at 39.00, 39.69.
The Shadowy Laborer is a dwarf that patrols around the camp. I suggest making a macro with /target Shadowy Laborer.

Note for completing this for Loremaster while in BFA-era gear: Any passive effects (e.g: Azerite armor abilities) that show up as buffs will cause your disguise to fail. You need to unequip anything that gives you a buff to be able to complete this.

Some Azerite Gear effects (from BfA) can cancel the disguise as soon as you walk a single step. I had to unequip the Azerite Items to be able to do this quest.

In my case, Ancient Bulwark's healing effect during moving breaks the disguise. Make sure no weird self healing will occur and you are good to go. shapeshifting is no good either.

Who Are They?

While in disguise, speak with the Shadowy Initiate, the Shadowy Laborer and the Shadowy Advisor. Then return to Private Weeks at Grangol'var Village in Terokkar Forest.

Description

I don't know who they are, but I know they're hostile!

I'm going to give you a disguise, and I want you to go in there and speak with three of them that I've observed as being 'chatty'. Talk with the initiate, the laborer, and the advisor.

Just watch out; there're a few hunters in there who'll be able to see through your disguise and they look tough! And whatever you do, don't leave the village -- the disguise is kind of flimsy. If you lose your disguise, come back to me and I'll give you another.
