Burden of Penitence is a part of Virtue of Penitence treasure.
To get the Virtue of Penitence in the south of Bastion you have to jump down the cliff to the shrine with the treasure.
Use the Burden of Penitence which will apply the Burden of Penitence debuff and spawn blue moving areas on the ground.
You have to avoid the circles and take the treasure in the middle of the shrine.
If you step into blue moving area you'll be teleported back to the beginning.

This is much easier now: go to /way 59, 77, pick up the item, avoid circles, and collect at 60, 78.
If you hit the blue circles, you are teleported at the beginning of the "maze"

The Virtue of Penitence can be found in the north and south of the Bastion and can be opened as follows:

In front of the entrance, on the left and/or right, there is an Burden of Penitence / Burden of Penitence that looks like a bell, one of which you have to click on.

You get the debuff Burden of Penitence for two minutes.

Now go into the cave and avoid the blue areas on the floor that are moving.

Touching the blue area on the ground will teleport you back to the cave entrance.

When you make it to the Virtue of Penitence click on it. It looks like a cauldron with blue flames.

You can also grab the Bounding Shroom in front of the cave and then fly in, this way you will fly over the blue floor areas.

With the Bounding Shroom you can also get away from that place too.

North of Bastion
The Eonian Archives
/way 35.8 21.0 Flight Master
/way 34.0 21.0 Starting point at the mountain
/way 35.5 18.8 Cave entrance
/way 34.3 18.3 Virtue of Penitence

Fly to the flight master Adrina.

Go up the stairs and go directly right up the next stairs to the rocks.

Try to jump on the rocks and run around the mountain to the right.

At the end, jump onto the rock below.

Then jump down to the cave entrance.

Grab a Burden of Penitence / Burden of Penitence.

The Virtue of Penitence is located in the center of the cave.

Walk to the Aspirant's Crucible and go around to the left here.

At the large aspirant statue, go left up the hill.

Then go over to the lake and follow the path down to the right.

Then jump down to the cave entrance.

Grab a Burden of Penitence / Burden of Penitence.

The Virtue of Penitence stands at the end of the cave.
