This branch of orcs definitely lives up to their namesake.

Throughout the Gul'rok area of southwestern Talador, these Gorebound orcs and demons can be found. In the same camp, there are numerous hide-tanning racks erected all throughout -- some racks have furs stretched on them, some racks have leathers... a couple racks have humanoid skeletons... and one rack has Kor'thos Dawnfury... stretched... on it. He will offer you Book Burning with his dying breaths, seeking an Adventurer to dole out justice for flaying him -- an extremely brutal method of torture that the Northern house Bolton favored in Game of Thrones. In front of a different rack stands a Gorebound Legionnaire making the "crafting" motion with her hands... seemingly indicating that she is in the process of "crafting leather". A skeleton is visible on the ground at her feet.

Description of Flaying:
Flaying a person is the torture method of trying someone to a rack with their limbs outstretched, and then skinning them alive. Yes, people can live through some amount of this horrific torture, but the body will, with any mercy, submit to shock (and consequent loss of consciousness) quickly. If the sheer pain doesn't kill them, the rapid and guaranteed infection will, since flaying removes the body's first and foremost, and most effective shield against foreign bodies, exposing the delicate organs and bodily systems to any and all pathogens with which we coexist.

The Vikings were known to have gone a step further and modify flaying to be even more gruesome by doing what is called "the Blood Eagle". This is when the ribs are also broken and "formed into the shape of wings, with their lungs externalized," or brought from inside the body to outside. When finished, this form of ritual execution made the corpse resemble a bloody bird.

I think it's rather spectacular how gruesome of a scene can be portrayed while remaining completely devoid of any visible, literal gore such as blood and guts and the like, Kor'thos Dawnfury is even fully clothed, and his character model isn't actually stretched at all -- in fact, it's so lacking in visible gore that for the first few minutes, I didn't realize I was even looking at a Blood Elf who had been flayed. Imagination is a curious thing...
