When these mobs get lightning around their hands, they start aoe'ing quite a large area around them for about 2k (on leather) for each time they hit the MT, or whoever they're attacking. When this happens all melee, expect the tank should move out of range untill the lightning is gone, and then enter the fight again.

Question regarding heroic:

Is there some way to make fighting these easier? Had my defloration on Mechanar heroic yesterday and these didn't go well. I'm a full protection spec paladin, 13k Armor, 11k HP unbuffed, 490 Def and some 12%dodge/parry. I consider this quite a good starting point but these really dumbfounded me. We had a group with Mage (Fire), Warlock, Shadowpriest, Treedruid and me. CoT and Counterspell to prevent the charging no problem, but his pure melee damage was most impressive.

Basically, it was a Question of luck. If I got the dodge/parry when low on HP to give the two healers a little time, everything was fine, if not... well, go figure.

Please, tell me there is another knack to them, which I just overlooked yesterday. I'm not yet willing to accept the fact that a Paladin Tank can't do heroic tanking.

Run Mind-Numbing Poison on these and they go down like a joke.

Curse of tongues does not seem to work.

If you have no rogue, deliberately allow the cast and then stun them (revenge stun? hammer of justice) after one second. It will waste most of the charged fist duration away, and there's no way they will recast their charged fist right after the interrupt.

Rogues can cloak charged fist damage.

On heroic mode, this mob can generally be considered tougher to kill than any of the bosses in Mech... As a smart warrior tank, however, they are fairly easy to avoid dying on, and your party will love you for it.

At the start of the fight, build threat like normal, and when they use Charge Fist, drop Concussion Blow. From this point on, you want to only spam Heroic Strike to hold aggro, this will keep you from triggering a global cooldown. The instant it starts casting Charge Fist, use Shield Bash to interrupt it. Now for the next 12 seconds while Shield Bash is on cooldown, resume normal threat cycling. As soon as it comes off cooldown again, resume spamming Heroic Strike so you don't trigger global cooldown.

With a little bit of practice you should never die on one again.

Immune to the Control Machine effect of http://www.wowhead.com/?item=7506 as of testing on 2008/05/25. Not immune to the root, didn't get the threat boost.

You can reflect each of the blasts from Charged Fist while he has the buff up. I've been trying to solo this instance as an 80 prot warrior, and this seems to be the only way to kill these before I run out of HP, haha.

This mob's model was apparently changed at some point, presumably in 7.0.3. It now appears to be a recolored variant of the Sunblade mechs from Magister's Terrace and Sunwell Plateau.
