I think after you beat the rare there are some short delay before the rare respawn you then mount on it and i got lockbox from finishing the taming event (Basically just press 1 when it said to hold on tight)

Require A Night Fae to spawn the rare i think, but everyone can participate and got the lockbox, but mount reward Night Fae only.

After you mount the Wilderling and press 1 for whatever length of time and then get your little chest, I figured you needed to follow this stupid NPC all the way back to the base to get the mount (as nightfae).

You do not. It'll take like 10 minutes to follow the stupid RP walk and then he despawns at the camp. No mount.

Figuring this must not be 100% for NF.

When it had about 90%, dropped me in the Maw. R.I.P. 9k Stygia, because after release, my corpse with Stygia disappeared. :/

Escaped Wilderling can be summoned as a Night Fae when Alluring Drum is up.

A little tip for anyone farming this. You can push the tame button multiple times in one go to get extra progress. (managed up to 3 tames with one speed burst). Happy hunting.

EDIT: You can also click the icon with the mouse button WHILE clicking the keyboard key as well for even faster runs. I got the mount a few weeks back and every time I hoped onto the mount it took me 2 or 3 bursts to tame each time :).

Do you guys know if it can only be farmed by NF? I know the encounter has to be started by NF, but not sure about looting it.

Mount drops only for Night Fae covenant after finishing event - Escaped Wilderling. The Wilderling Saddle does not drop from the box, it is directly a reward from the encounter itself. It'll pop up alongside the box.

The Wilderling Saddle gives quest Wilderling Saddle that can be turn in in Korthia to obtain the Summer Wilderling Harness.

Does anyone know if this can be farmed more than once per day? I am night fae and today was the first day I tried to farm this. Worked fine the first time, but on subsequent attempts, I was unable to do the taming portion of the event, even if I was the one who hit the drum to start the event, so I got no reward or chance at the mount. Is this normal or a glitch?

The Night Fae mount (from renown) might be inspired by this one (colours included), since the NPCs hunting it are the 3 that help us on some Callings (Karras, Alvyni and Twinklewings).
Also, if you decide to hang around them, after 'taming' this wildling, you'll see them walking all the way to the base, towards the Night Fae place.

The Alluring Drum needs to be clicked on by a Night Fae. However, you don't need to complete the channel that starts by clicking on it.

Click on it, take a step to cancel the channel, and you can do whatever you want while you wait for the beast to come down. Skin some dead bears, craft some potions, pray to whatever your preferred invisible man/woman is.

I know there is a lot of information here, but I wanted to make sure that I posted something for people to see a little more detail. The Alluring Drum can be clicked by Night Fae only and will summon the Escaped Wilderling. Once it comes down, you have to attack and get the health down to about 15% (if there are a lot of people it usually shows as 1%) and then it flies back to behind the drum where it should become rideable. You jump on and ride it to try to tame it. Every time it speeds up, you push the button to hang on.

There is a very small chance to get Wilderling Saddle, which is a quest to turn in for the Summer Wilderling mount.

You need to be Night Fae in order to have this drop. Each covenant has a different encounter. This one happens to be for the Night Fae, but everyone can ride on it and get a box with some small items in it.

I know that not everyone has had the chance to experience this rare encounter and there are always questions on how it works, so I went ahead and recorded the last time I tried for my mount. (With my luck, I'll be trying this for the next year! Haha)

I think it's a fun encounter, but it's such a bummer that we can't have it for everyone!

For those who like added detail - Karras and the others walk the captured Wilderling all the way back to the base. Nothing else happens, but they persist instead of doing a fast fade.

I wanted to share some info to potentially help anyone understand this encounter a little better! I realize some of this information is in other comments but some of it isn't (or not that I have seen) - Good luck everyone!

- This event is started by anyone in the Night Fae Covenant interacting with the Alluring Drum that spawns periodically throughout the day (I don't believe there's a set timer but it does seem to happen frequently).
- The Drum will spawn the Escaped Wilderling, whom you will need to fight until he's lost enough health and becomes mountable. He'll quickly move back/rest right near the ledge where he spawned.
- After mounting the Escaped Wilderling (just click on him), you'll get a special action bar / vehicle bar with a "Tame" ability and "Tame" bar. You'll need to use the "Tame" ability each time the game prompts you with "Escaped Wilderling gets a burst of speed. Hold on tight!" - as you use this ability, your "Tame" bar will fill up. It seems to fill faster the more "perfect" results you get, basically hitting the "Tame" button as quickly as you can after getting the "Hold on tight!" prompt.
- * You can no longer spam the "Tame" button! There is a cooldown. *
- Once you've filled the "Tame" bar you'll return to your character and receive Talon-Pierced Mawsworn Lockbox as well as a chance to get Wilderling Saddle which starts the quest Wilderling Saddle that will reward the mount, Summer Wilderling Harness.
- Today I got the mount after maintaining "Perfect!" and "Hot Streak!" - I don't know if this is related to getting the mount/quest.
- I was NOT able to engage/mount the Escaped Wilderling after having finished the first time, but I could fight him once he spawned again (I could not mount him).
- If you see the NPC's walking him around Korthia, just leave them alone. You can't engage with them and they just despawn after they walk around forever.

If I need to make any corrections to this info I'm happy to do so!

Earlier I tried to tame this NPC. it did its initial burst of speed and I got 5%. Then it just stopped doing bursts of speed for more than a full cycle and all my tame attempts missed. Has anyone else experienced this?

It seems to be glitched after the second wave of the prepatch (11/16/2022) I am able to ride it and it prompts me to hold one once and then we just fly around forever. I have dismounted and tried again but the same thing happens

I was at the spawn point of this: 33 39

The Alluring Drum was there, the flags, the NPCs, the Wilderling... But I couldn't click or interact with the Alluring Drum at all. What am I missing here? I wondering if there is an addon that might be conflicting with the new Blizzard UI and preventing me from clicking on it - or maybe I just missing one simple thing from happening or having in my possession? This happen to anyone else? (I am Night Fae Covenant)

...I don't see anyone else addressing this issue so not sure what's going on.
