These NPCs can add a good amount of DPS on bosses and trash. Our guild uses a hunter to drag trash mobs over to the Tauren, and when against Kaz'rogal and Azgalor the tank drags them to the Tauren himself.

If you can drag these down to wherever you are AOEing, they will basically chain warstomp everything forever, so you can AOE in peace - it's basically home free for that wave. The trick is to actually get them to the fight.

The typical technique is to have a hunter kite a ghoul past the mobs you want to bring to the fight; however the Tauren warriors will stun the ghoul and kill it before you can get them close enough to the engagement. What I find works is to have a tank and a healer drag an abomination to them, as an abomination will last substantially longer, and you can inch your way back to the fight between stuns. If you can get them fairly close to the bunker/burrow, they should join in once the abomination dies.

I'm a hunter that has successfully kited these guys many times. Some advice for those hunters who are just starting this:

-It's easier if you're MM or Surv than BM. The reason for this is BM's damage is split between you and your pet, so you alone may not do enough damage to the kited mob to keep agro (the Tauren hit VERY hard).

-Start off to the right, in the little passage between the bunker and the tower. Drop an ice slick trap here to slow whichever mob you're kiting.

-Always have Cheetah up. Only feign if the mob gets too close and dazes you.

-Always kite an Abomination, if there is one. The reason for this is Aboms have much higher health than the other trash mobs and will live longer, decreasing the chance the Tauren will kill it too soon and reset. Kite a Ghoul if there is no Abomination.

-Always pick the top-right Abomination to kite. Mark it so your raid knows not to tank/damage it.

-Build as much threat as possible. Use Arcane shot, Multishot, Distracting shot everytime they're up. The Tauren hit VERY hard and you MUST keep agro on your mob through the Tauren.

-Once you start kiting, run backwards to the Tauren camp, stopping next to the circular thing on the ground. At this point drop another ice slick trap to slow the mob and move back. Once it walks over the trap, begin turning down toward the road, moving back to the front entrance. Use concussive shot when needed, and also Intimidation/Scatter Shot if you have them.

-The Tauren have an annoying tendancy to stunlock and chain-daze the mob and not let it move very far, even if you keep agro. Not much you can do about this, just try to keep the mob unsnared and unstunned while still having agro on you.

-The Tauren also have an annoying tendancy to reset even if the kited mob dies fairly close to the main group of mobs. I've seen them reset even if they're barely 40 yards from another mob. Not sure of the mechanics that determine whether they reset or not, just bring your mob as close to the main group as possible.

-If you succeed in bringing your mob to the main group, drop another ice slick trap, and call out for your kited mob to be taunted by one of your tanks.

As others have said, the Tauren help immensely on dealing with the trash due to their chain warstomp, and on some waves they're practically required to move on. Learn to kite the Tauren, and you'll make the Hyjal trash to the 3rd and 4th bosses MUCH easier, and your raid will love you for it.
