At first glance it doesn't appear possible to solo on heroic/mythic to try and obtain the mount. The 2nd phase mechanic does not work with only 1 player in the zone leaving So'leah permanently with Power Overwhelming. The truth is this IS soloable as the buff *only* reduces damage taken by 99%. Thus it will take 100x longer to kill him and he is effectively a mob with 100m HP.

At first I maintained my rotation to try and burn him down but quickly opted to autoattack in cat form without paying attention to wow. From my rough estimate while making breakfast, I was reducing his hp by about 1% every minute. I didn't have to worry about damage/healing as I was speced into Well-Honed Instincts. His Hyperlight Jolt only occasionally hit me at level 70 so the stacks fell off on their own.

Here is a decent solo strategy for monks looking to kill this boss. Go Windwalker, make sure you have Fatal Flying Guillotine and Forbidden Technique talented. Meridian Strikes will also make it slightly faster.

Don't kill the mobs in the surrounding area, damage her until shes in her 99% damage reduction phase. Pull mobs over, and Touch of Death them next to her, it'll hit her for normal damage. If the mobs are spaced out a bit, which you can do with Ring of Peace, Forbidden Technique will let you get two Touch of Deaths out in one go. Then simply wait for Touch of Death to come off cooldown, or if you have Meridian Strikes just spam abilities. When it's back up do it again, and obviously use Touch of Death on the boss itself when you can. With this strategy, my boss fight took only 2 minutes. Can probably be done quicker. Goodluck o/

This is simply the perfect test dummy lol.

It's also a test of your will, to see how bad you want this mount.

But trust me, it's well worth it.

I completed this today on a 70 Fury Warrior item lvl 390.
I was ACTIVELY pounding everything I got on her, so bear in mind that. Took me 35 minutes to bring her down. Mount dropped, happy trails.

You simply can't die, so you could go watch a movie and leave it on auto-attack, or go ham and get it done relatively quick.

In any case, it was fun, and I finally have the mount. :)

Take with you just one person level 60+ just let him die at begin of the fight, when another person dead and you entered phase two, a red arrow from the dead person will target you, stand behind orb and it will hit and destroy it, do that for all five orbs, you can destroy two orbs with one hit if u line it with two orbs good.

Just did this fight on Heroic as a 390 Havoc Demon Hunter,
It took me 89 minutes 37 seconds semi AFK.
So'leah cast 880 Hyperlight bolts.
I did not get the mount.
I will not be doing this solo again until they fix this to be soloable in less than 5 minutes.

Solo'ing her as a 442 ilvl dev evoker took me 21 minutes, with no idling and throwing my full rotation into her the whole time.

No mount dropped, but at least I can say how long it took me for any other Evokers out there who wanted to try this.

Healers, for the love of all that is holy - SWITCH SPECS before you pull. I didn't play Shadowlands so had no idea about this mechanic and pulled this boss as a 444 ilvl resto druid.

Weaving cat dots, boomkin dots, and everything I had took 2 hours. Afk auto attacks were doing around 34 so it would have been 4 hours to afk.

Brought a newbie friend (they don't have Dragonflight, so they're just a 60) with me to a HM clear to get them the mount. Total fight time was 14:04 (13:57 P2) as a Fury warrior. Normally, I'm 444.5 iLvl, but I 'downgraded' to 435.12 using a 291 Deathmaker cloak to speed this up, and also ran with Kyrian-Pelagos for the big mastery and main stat buffs you get constantly.

PRO TIP SUMMARY:
--Craft one (or both) 291 legendaries for Shadowlands (useful in mythic raids, too) that still function, and would be very powerful for your spec of choice. I used Deathmaker for Fury (but left my Unity in the bank). Try to craft these on the lowest stat-impacting slots, such as jewelry, if you can, or at least keep it off a tier slot.

--Run with whatever the strongest single target/DPS throughput covenant you can (Kyrian for me, but Necrolord might've been stronger with Unity factored in).

--Make sure you've got your conduits and soulbinds setup. Since the end of Shadowlands some have been nerfed into oblivion, but some ended up more powerful than they originally were, such as the tank healing stat one--which I can proc on cooldown for a huge main stat steroid. Arms warrior still has a 15% chance for Mortal Strike to hit twice (and has a strong legendary), so it could've been stronger for all I know.

The vendor beside the Oribos flight path sells an item that will max all of your conduits to 278 if you don't have them upgraded already.

All of that on top of having modern gear/tier should make this solo massively faster compared to the reports I'd seen of people taking 50+ minutes. Having friends will speed it up, too, of course, but in the absence of any this should help for those seeking the HM mounts, or a couple transmog. Good luck!

Pro tip: Unless you enjoy hearing Oppose me and be extinguished! and You are nothing! every few seconds mute your game.

I hope one day we can just burst So'leah down, as of current patch this was an awful fight to solo lol

It's not that this is hard to solo. You won't die. It just takes forever. Fighting for 35 minutes and not getting the mount is soul-crushing. I will hear "Oppose me and be extinguished!" and "You are nothing!" in my sleep.

455 lvl 70 shadow priest it took 27 minutes and 10.29 seconds to take down on heroic. Mythic took 31 minutes and 12.71 seconds. This is one hell of a grind for a mount to not be a guaranteed drop.

Most annoying dungeon I've ever done in World of Warcraft!
I'm a newly level 70 mage, and I spent 2 hours even getting to the last boss.

Now, I see that the annoyance continues and that the boss isn't soloable in a normal amount of time.
I'm not gonna do it. I just wanted to finish that one quest I had, and then I end up with this nightmare!

Not much I can think of that's worth the time spent on this one boss with a slim chance for a mount drop. Guess I just don't have the patience for a fight such as this.

took me 12 minutes 57.43 seconds to solo on my balance druid (485 ilvl) on regular mythic difficulty. never came close to being low on health thankfully. i definitely suggest using whatever spec for your class has good dots, if you have any on-use trinkets or weapon abilities those are a nice no effort bonus. definitely a pain to do solo. hopefully they'll eventually at least nerf mechanics for bosses like this that are difficult or impossible to do solo.

Not often you can use Primal Rage three or more times in a single fight – luckily dungeon bosses can't go berserk. But I'm pleased it can be soloed after all so I can get my achievement for all mythic Shadowlands dungeons!

Btw boss seems to say the two phrases at random. Does anyone beat "You are nothing!" eight times in a row?

I was so excited to finally be able to go in solo, thought " oh yeah, I can try for that cool mount now".... Literally the WORST thing I have had to make myself endure in WoW. Almost 20 minutes, hoping for the mount and all I got was a bit of gold. I will never return to this place ever again.

Took me 15 mins as an enhance shammy (475 ilvl). Used Earth ele and lust twice as well.

To everyone whos commented how it takes forever, PLEASE SUBMIT FEEDBACK FOR THE BOSS SO IT PUTS IT ON BLIZZ RADAR. They likely wont fix it unless its reported, so please do so!

Won't be doing that again for a while...

Thank you for the Windwalker strat, touch of death a mob next to boss then touch of death when its off cd 2min kill worked wonders after the long ass kills on all the other classes. Do the WW strat and then just reset the instance on Heroic to farm the mount over and over ^^ .

Stage One: Final Preparations

Power Overwhelming – So'leah links herself to the relics, drawing upon their power to reduce all damage taken by 99% while linked.
Striking a relic with Hyperlight Jolt disrupts its link with So'leah.
Hyperlight Jolt – So'leah unleashes a blast of energy through all players inflicting 247318 Arcane damage in a line between each player and increasing damage taken from Hyperlight Jolt by 25% for 15 sec.
Striking a relic with the blast disrupts its link with So'leah.
Collapsing Star – So'leah forms an orb containing 4 charges of Collapsing Energy that persists for 30 sec. Each time a player comes into contact with the Collapsing Star it consumes a charge to apply Collapsing Energy to all players, inflicting 4 Arcane damage every 1 sec for 3 sec.
All remaining charges of Collapsing Energy are consumed when the Collapsing Star expires.
