Tamed today during the Night Fae campaign quest "Cleansing the Forest"

You'll need to start the encounter with Dambala and DPS him in the stag form until he casts a spell, this will be what spawns in 4 of these cobra. Once spawned in, I exited the the stag form and began casting tame beast. I initially got killed very quickly, so I dropped quest and went back to Lady Moonberry to do it again. You'll need to do the first part when you fill the bar again. The second time I went to tame, I left the stag again but then used aspect of the turtle before casting tame beast, and it worked like a charm!

This pet kept his special name, and his a ghostly pink-purple. Very unique!

Is there any other way to get him to spawn? Like being in a group with someone on the quest? I did the quest and forgot about him now I'm a sad hunter.

If you kill Dambala and turn in the quest, don't fear. You can wait for him to respawn. I went to double check if he or his adds were unique skins only after already turning in the quest, and I had Report to the Queen in my logs when I watched him respawn (it was a somewhat lengthy timer for a quest mob. I was not keeping track but I'd say 5-10 minutes maybe?).

You no longer have access to the runestag so you might die, but he summons his adds REALLY early. Turtle up and you'll get yourself a ghostly snake friend. It retained its name upon taming. Interestingly, as of writing this comment, using Bestial Wrath does not affect its color at all, though it does grow in size as usual.

Edit: Ran back after turning in Report to the Queen (thus ending the chapter). As one would expect, the phase is back to normal and Dambala is gone. If you want your ghost snake you have to do it before the chapter is over!

Just wanted to let everyone know if you missed this during the Night Fae campaign quest "Cleansing the Forest", you can party sync with someone currently doing the quest and tame :)

You can still tame the shadow of dambala even though you finish the quest via party sync night fae player that has the quest. Go to the area get the "cleansing the forest" from lady moonberry, then progress to the quest by killing monsters and healing NPC in the area after 100% you can see dambala.

In order to help tame Dambala, start the fight without a pet and in your normal form (not stag form):

You'll take two hits and it'll drop you around 20-40% of your health (at least for me).
He'll begin to cast his duplicitous forms.
At this point, feign death. It'll put you into safety and the forms will remain.
Tame the Shade of Dambala in safety! Only one will attack you while the others remain dormant.

The easiest way to tame this snake is when u go to slay dambala don't turn into the stag at all just start healing your pet then start attacking dambala then when the snake doubles spawn hit disengage then hit feint death for both you and your pet. they will reset their positions and the doubles will stay out for about 20 maybe 30 seconds when they reset quickly dismiss your pet then click on one of the snake doubles and start taming and if your beast mastery with the 2 pets just dismiss again and click on another snake double then tame again. Thats it. Hope this info helps out.

The quest to get this pet starts on chapter 3 of the nightfae campaign. This quest starts with a floating round voodoo mask. you're looking for "On De Other Side"
Follow the quest from there to "Cleansing the Forest" and should have this pet in no time.
