This boss is super annoying. Make sure you interrupt "Inner Flames" since that heals them back

This mob will feel grossly overtuned. Its damage is ridiculous even when you do interrupt, which is risky for some classes, as the heal MUST be interrupted.

was wondering what I was doing wrong, I played a warlock, so I had to keep it constantly feared, and dotted to kill it, if it got one cast off, then it healed, and it was start over.

Waaaaaaaaay to annoying! Heals faster than I can interrupt and heals too frequently. Hope they fix this.

Just stack Catharstick until it's full, you'll be able to put him down to 15-20%. If he cast heal, just cancel it with a fear, then finish him.

I am of the opinion this boss is impossible for a Holy Paladin to get past. Blinding Light and HoJ have way too long a CD, even using both, I cannot get him below 90% for long. I see this guy and just give up. We need a fix blizz!

Can not believe how stupid this is. Honestly is a huge waste of time. Between the debuff that eats 7% of my health every 5 seconds and this mob healing itself just grossly OP. I don't mind running a layer a couple times to learn it, but when it's just stupid mechanic on top of stupid mechanic I can't be bothered.

As an arcane mage, ilvl 144: Time Warped, popped all damage cooldowns and just burned him down as fast as I could. Interrupted Inner Flames with Counterspell. One went off, it healed him, but not fully. A quick Evocation and I was able to finish him.

Agreeing with everyone else on this. As a BM Hunter remember you can interrupt with Ice Trap and Intimidation... Not sure why we can't use Counter Shot.

Broken fight, encountered this boss at floor two lvl 6. During the fight she never budged past 87% using my one interrupt fear... and the pvp bounce thing. after 3 rotations of bounce fear the timing gets broken and boss heals before your abilities are off cooldown. Playing as a disc priest its broken. Left torghast.

Went to the 4 tier. ran into same boss with 20k less health... not helpful. if she heals every 27 seconds and you have a min cooldown. Joke.

Arcane Mage - Here is how I took him down in short order. Deathborne>Prismatic Barrier>Rune of Power>Arcane Power>Time Warp. Then cycle Arcane Barrage and Arcane Missiles then hit him with Counterspell when he conjures (%^&* I forgot what it's called) but prevent him from healing and he goes down fast.

Tried this with a 185 Disc Priest on layer 7 - unkillable. Didn't even burn all my lives I just packed up and left. He self-heals faster than I can damage him, and my interrupts (fear and shining force) are on too long a cooldown to help. Maybe if you lucked into just the right anima power stack (a couple of psychic scream cooldowns plus one of the ones that gives you a stun proc) then MAYBE. But I just can't be bothered. Reward is not worth it.

This boss is a nightmare. I'm a Holy Priest healer using my Shadow spec so not exactly geared for dps. ILV 154. Finally killed him by using Psychic Horror, Silence, and Psychic Scream as interrupts. I watched his rotation, made sure all my spells were off cooldown, waited for inner flame to end then used my best rotation to kill him. I had to use all three interrupts but I did kill him before needing another. I am part of Necrolord so I used the anima power (Volatile Flesh) which gave me a huge damage burst using Fleshcraft.

As a priest I could interupt Inner flames with Silence and Fear. No problem at all.

This boss was SUPER annoying as Disc Priest. The worst part was that fear had this boss clip into walls and ontop of the ... idk what you call them the fire holder thing.

How I eventually beat the boss. DPS until the first Inner fire saving Schism, mind games, and building catharstick as well as power infusion and shadowfiend.

Interrupt the first inner fire with fear, pop all CDs, burn burn burn. Having the talents that increase damage to break fear are huge here.

After burst CDs die down i used door of shadows with the conduit that disorients the next Inner fire. After this, DPS as hard as you can.

Likely still won't kill him until another inner fire but my 30s fear CD was off CD and this took care of him. Took me about 15 minutes to figure all this out and deal with the clipping. I'd recommend kiting the boss to the largest room you can find or just sitting right on top of him so your fear isn't LoSd.

Disc Priest here.. same problem as everyone else.. this boss is unkillable... had him down to 60% or so and then watched him cast the heal and sat there powerless to interrupt it since my fear was on CD and I didn't have any helpful anima powers.. stupid.

I easily killed this boss on my druid, but found it impossible on my disc priest. I tried the Catharstick and found it capped at your full health. Not sure how multiple stacks would affect the cap. Psychic scream's cooldown is longer than the boss heal cycle (even with the talent to reduce the cooldown!) and the mob is immune to Mind Control. So Shining Force and one Psychic Scream seems to be the only way to kill this mob. Still need to cheese the amount of dmg you do (e.g. catharstick) so recommend trying another spec. Will be trying to make disc work still just because it's so nice for all the other mobs.

Quit out of the run because he's too over tuned. Shadow Priest can't interrupt the heal often enough. Thanks Blizz.

For any boomkin having issues, in addition to solar beam and typhoon being able to interrupt you also have cyclone. It has a long cast time but is necessary if you burst dps isn't strong enough to kill boss when he starts to channel and the first 2 spells are on CD

Impossible to manage in disc spec or any priest spec with very limited interrupts. Casts Inner flames far too often, and even if you dispel as rapidly as you can, they recover. I've managed to get them down half health each time but impossible to manage.

I could survive them endlessly but that's pretty pointless if I can't kill em.

yeap! utterly overtuned boss... T8L1 boss.. and every boss on every floor the same one.. beat her once, but not again...
Then a rare with 6 other non rares were placed at the end of floor two and pulled the flametender every single time I even got close to them... 6 attempts and I gave up

Hotfix Jan 4 2021

Mawsworn Flametender and Empowered Mawsworn Flametender’s Inner Flames now begins its cooldown at the start of the cast (was upon cast completion) and the time between casts increased to 30 seconds (was 20 seconds).

This is tuned a bit more comfortably now.

Just ran on level2 (i think) as a Disc Priest iLvl 153
Annoying but doable.
Full attack. Fear when he healed. Repeat.
Second time Shadowfiend was up I was i able to time damage + fear + shadowfiend so that the dude went down

I timed fear with full output of damage, CD + Shadowfiend
He managed to heal partly once but the second time Shadowfiend was ready there were no escape.

I was also unkillable, so kind of a stalemate.

Struggling Disc Priest? Use Shining Force as a talent. Alternate between Psychic Scream and Shining Force when one of them is on a CD and the NPC starts to heal. You might be able to get away with just choosing Psychic Voice as a talent, but I haven't tried it and I'm not sure how much time is in between each of the NPC's heals. Hope this helps!

Soooo annoying. I wasn't aware of this the first time. Affliction Warlock here. I used Shadowfury when I realized what he was doing, but it's on too much of a CD. Any other tips. I may just stop playing because of this. Stupid mechanic.

Horrible opponent to get! Guardian Druid here - I used skull bash and incapacitating roar to interrupt the inner flames heal AND kept throwing blinding smoke capsules (buyable from the trader) that seemed to lessen the attack.

No problem in the slightest for a Prot warrior. Pummel was always available for the healing proc, otherwise a walk in the park

POV: You're here because you're wondering what you did wrong after spending an obscene amount of time killing this NPC.

You need to interrupt "Inner Flames". If you lack multiple interrupts, then enjoy fighting it for 15-30 minutes (not an exaggeration).

If you don't have a way to keep it from casting "Inner Flames", it is actually faster to quit your run and complete a new one instead of finishing the current run. Good luck.
