The orbs were overwhelming me before I could kill him. I don't know if there's a trick to this because I saw the bit about the shield absorbing then reflecting back damage and tried stopping dps while the shield was up, but the orbs still seemed to come faster and faster. Had to make a custom group; this really should be given an auto-group-up button. Or, you know, scaled down a bit to be possible for anyone that's not already circling the peak of Mt. iLvl.

So I figured out the trick to this guy and his Overwhelming Orbs of Overwhelmingness:

You need to intercept the orbs before they get to Kassar.

Just run over them! The Void Bubbles do a little bit of damage, sure, but nowhere near the amount that Kassar's Void Rupture bursts out when they get to him.

(It is, of course, also a good idea to get rid of the nearby Zoatroid mobs beforehand.)

Interesting challenge. Bring a few friends. My group (mixed Horde & Alliance) killed the Shirakess Subjugators and Apprentices before taking on Mario Kassar (A tribute to the producer of Stargate, 3 Terminators & Total Recall?) but they respawned, along with 3,714 Zoatroids (each with about 1.2M health), dozens of Overwhelming Orbs, 47 aliens visiting earth from who knows where, several of my high-school classmates and the entire population of Kansas City, all armed to the teeth. Fortunately we had some talent, an Afflock, my bear tank and a few others who stopped by to help. There were so many bodies, they couldn't all fit on my computer screen. I don't know who is going to clean up the mess but at least I got a pair of gloves.

Seriously, this is a long, tough fight but LadyVictoria is right about the Orbs; just stomp on them before they get to Kassar. Other than that, bring a lot of healing potions and maybe the 182nd Airborne Division in full battle array.

I can't even solo this in tank spec with a 410 item level, intercepting the orbs. How the hell is this a level 120 non-rare non-elite? This is like Legion mage tower challenge tier difficulty trying to time the intercepting of orbs to let the stacks drop off while dealing with endless waves of adds.

Seems really hard under the wrong circumstances.

Just take him down the steps to the beach, and fight him there. Make sure you run into the purple orbs before they reach him.

That's basically it. No other mobs will bother you. Maybe an octopus or two at the start, but nothing compared to fighting him up near the nodes.

For those in 9.2.7+ like me, these things don't show up on the map anymore or even on WQ list addons like "World Quests List."

If you have an addon like "WQAchievements", it'll actually tell you which one is available. More-importantly, it'll let you link & track the world quest (easily, at least, but I'm sure it's doable w/o the addon). If you click the WQ-link in the popup window for WQAchievements, it'll show up in your Blizzard quest/achievement/campaign/etc tracking. When you're tracking it like that, clicking the tracked WQ will highlight on the map where it is briefly with a flashy circle animation, getting around it not showing up on the map. Saves a lot of time over just searching for various spawnpoints.
