(As reported by Neryssa on the WoW Secrets Discord) Murloco is a murloc vendor who appears only rarely at Murloco's Hideaway - a cave in north-west Nazjatar. The entrance is approximately due west of the first "A" in "Azshari Terrace" and due south of the "EE" in "Gate of the Queen" on the zone map. When he spawns he's initially locked in a cage. You must kill his naga guards, then several subsequent waves of naga forces, after which he's released and can be interacted with. He'll run away approximately 5 minutes later, so be quick in buying what you need! You may also find him in the cage but no guards present - if so you can't release him and you'll have to wait and hope they spawn.

Of note, he sells Hungry Herald's Tentacle Taco which is one of several items required as currency to purchase a Crimson Tidestallion, after you unlock Mrrl in your Najzatar faction hub. This item is hidden from his inventory unless you're wearing a Azsh'ari Stormsurger Cape, which is a random Benthic cloak (keep trying the Benthic gear vendor in your Nazjatar base until you get one). He also sells Murloco's "Fish" Tacos which give a nice, albeit short-lived food buff.

You may need to keep checking back (possibly for days if you're unlucky) before you find him.

don't stand inside the cave! if they spawn while your inside it can bug out Murloco and he won't leave his cage. I reported this as a bug and a GM escalated it.

Looks like it can bug occasionally. I came across the event in the cave and killed the two Naga guarding Murloco. Once they died, no more waves have spawned and Murloco has been sitting in the cage for about an hour and a half now; I just sat afk while playing on my other account. I tried zoning in/out to force the Naga waves to spawn, I even hearthed and came back. No Naga have spawned since the original two and Murloco is still just sitting there; abandoning to find him another day.

I just did the event. Killed all the naga and Murloco escaped his cage and became a vendor; however, the Tentacle Taco purple item isn't on his list of available items to buy.

I stg every time I try and locate this ^&*!@#$, he's either nowhere to be seen even after all the naga are killed, or he's sitting in the cage doing absolutely nothing and unable to be interacted with

I saw him 2 times with WM on, and with WM Off he never show up.

Can confirm i did this by server hopping and had WM OFF, was standng in the the cave when the naga spawned and was able to loot the taco, while wearing Ash'ari stornsurger cape.

You can have unlimited supply of Murloco's "Fish" Tacos in your mailbox if you send it to your alt and buy again. Katy's Stampwhistle or MOLL-E required.

Having Warmode activated seems to give you a much better chance for this guy to spawn or for this guy to spawn elsewhere cause i saw 5 groups all advertising that he spawned and all had Warmode on so i went to org switch WM on and quickly found another group and boom the guy was there and i was able to purchase my tentacle to purchase the mount.

If you happen to see Murloco's encounter up or in progress (and have a few minutes to spare!), put a group up in the Group Finder advertising him. Be sure to indicate if Warmode is on or off (as the phasing is different depending, and one can't see the other).
Invite anyone who pops in, convert to raid and invite folks as they come.

If anyone says "I cant see him!" ask them to check their Warmode status.

If they can't see the Hungry Herald's Tentacle Taco, then be sure to remind them they need Azsh'ari Stormsurger Cape.

Kindly people have saved me hours of camping with this and I have also payed it forward and helped people get their Tacos!

Of course, if you do the server hop thing, finding someone who posts a group for him, look at when they posted it. I just found a group, that had been set up 17 minutes ago. Murloco was long gone, probably at least 12 minutes since he was there. I hopped to a few other realms. Nope.

Anyway, if you do post a group for him, then drop it after he goes away in 5 minutes.

So now I sit and wait. :) Though I am a bit worried, because a horde toon is camping inside the cave. And when he does spawn, I am worried that might screw up the event and prevent me from talking to Murloco, in case the bug that I have read about up-thread is true.

Edit: after waiting for roughly an hour, nearly falling asleep, he popped up, and sold me the taco. Drat, he forgot to add guacamole as I asked.

To get to Murloco's Hideaway where you can purchase
Hungry Herald's Tentacle Taco and Murloco's Marvelous Hat

Go (preferrably FLY) to the waypoint and face due WEST,
then descend straight down (default key is x) to cave entrance.

A tip I have is if there is an item that Mrrl has that requires a Hungry Herald's Tentacle Taco buy all the other items first then get the Hungry Herald's Tentacle Taco from Murloco. Then fly back to Mrrl get the item and fly back to Murloco for another Hungry Herald's Tentacle Taco. Since Hungry Herald's Tentacle Taco does not have the 1 day duration like the other items do you can save it to avoid having to catch Murloco up again. It takes roughly a minute to do this way. If you to buy all the items after Murloco is up he will usually despawn before you get back to him.

I waited 15 minutes before I gave up, because nothing was there, and came back to this page on WoWHead about Murloco. I read probably the most useful tip anyone could give about how to get the Taco, Taco, Taco. I got it in under 2 minutes without waiting.Here's how....

Step 1: Check Murloco's Hideaway entrance is located at 46.3, 32.6. See if he has spawned in your realm. No? That sucks.

Step 2: Stay at Murloco's Hideaway entrance that is located at 46.3, 32.6. MAKE SURE YOUR Azsh'ari Stormsurger Cape is equipped at all times! I cannot stress this enough. No cloak? You won't get the taco!

Step 3: Click "i" to bring up your "Raids & Dungeon's Menu". Go to "Premade Groups". Go to "Questing" or "Custom" it does not matter.

Step 4: Find a group in specifically in Nazjatar. And Nazjatar ONLY!

Step 5: You will zone out of your server that doesn't have Murloco available and go into someone else's (the person that invited you to the premade group). If the Murloco event is available on that server then you'll see two naga holding Murloco hostage for his Taco!

Step 6: Kill the naga, and the naga after them, and then the final boss. Murloco is freed and you'll be able to buy the Taco from him. Make sure your damn cloak is equipped! Or else... NO TACO FOR YOU!

Step 5.5: If by chance you go to someone else's server by getting an invite to a group event in Nazjatar and the Murloco event ISNT there. Don't worry. Just leave the group. Find another. Rinse and repeat.

This worked for me the first group I joined. I wasn't expecting it to work. But, literally I joined, was outside Murloco's Hideaway entrance located at 46.3, 32.6. And I saw the two naga.

Downside to all of this...yah I got the Taco...now I gotta wait for Mrrl to sell the actual mount. The thing's he sells varies day to day, or week by week. I don't recall.

Hope this helps! Don't sell the taco. Don't eat the taco! Save the taco. Taco good. Lol

This is more than likely random however I felt it needed to be stated, since I've seen other such claims.

I had waited for Murloco for well over an hour or two, and even tried phasing into others' servers. Nothing.

THE VERY FIRST TIME I WENT TO HIS CAVE after turning on War Mode I saw him and his captors, and successfully acquired two tacos.

Coincidence? Maybe, but I'm ruling in favor of coincidences after that wait.

Wanted to add my two cents because I didn't see it above, but if you don't see Murloco, I'd suggest 2 options so-as to avoid waiting anywhere between 4-12 hours for the next spawn:

1.) Change to War Mode

War Mode allows you to shard into a different session in Nazjatar, and as such has different spawn timers for NPC's like Murloco.

2.) Server Hop

This is a more ideal solution, because if you've tried with & without War Mode on, keep War Mode on when you server hop. Less people quest with it on, as they're already max level in Nazjatar, increasing your chances of Murloco to have spawned in. Quickest way to do this is to join a Custom Group through the Party Search option, and keep switching around from group to group until he's there.

WORD OF ADVICE!
Once you've purchased the Epic Taco from Murloco (assuming you're trying to buy an item from Mrrl), you need to return to your original status that you checked for the purchase option. In other words, if you were originally on your starter server, you need to leave that group you server hopped to and reload back into your original shard. If you had War Mode On/Off, you need to return to your original status. If you aren't, there's a good chance the item you were looking for isn't there. Returning to your original status of server/mode will correct this (assuming you do it all on the same day before dailies reset).

From all of the information here, it seems like he spawns at random intervals, but usually on the half hour, so 1:30, 2:30, etc. So instead of actively searching for him, I did the lazy man's way and parked an alt outside his cave that had the cape on. Whenever I was playing, I would keep an eye on the time and log over to the alt and take a peek. Eventually logged on to that alt just a bit after the half hour not expecting anything, and someone else had apparently already done the event and left, so he was just sitting there waiting to sell me stuff.

I honestly believe there is something to the warmode idea.

I waited around for hours on wm off, swapped to wm on and the guards were there

there was also a group earlier in the day that was wm on for murloco too

never once did i see him in wm off

If you can't see him try toggling War Mode. After turning WM on I saw him instantly.

Experienced a 3 hour spawn.
Waited...had to take the dog out for a walk, and of course....30 seconds after I leave...Murloco shows up.
This was roughly at 20:10 CET.
23:11 CET he was back.
We were camping inside of cavern.
No issue what so ever.

AFK'ed and missed him by minutes, at 1230 local time (1330 server) logged back every 30 mins and he was there again 3 hours later.

If you see Murloco, get that Tentacle Taco and hold onto it, he may not be available the day the tidestallion shows up, the taco doesn't decay after 24 hours.
Be sure to check warmode if he's not up in normal mode.
