OOX-Avenger/MG rare is located on a mountain west of the Bondo's Yard Mechagon.
Part of the Rest In Pistons achievement

This rare is kinda strange and hard to figure out.

Stage 1 confirm that there is a Oglethorpe Obnoticus in Rustbolt active.
Stage 2 find and kill OOX-Fleetfoot/MG (chicken can be all over the zone)
/tar OOX-Fleetfoot/MG
It is running around the area and you have to use slow and stuns. Has 6 mils hp
After you kill it there will be an alarm that spawns the rare
Stage 3 Go to the mountain west of the Bondo's Yard and kill the rare

I made a weakaura for the mechagon rares which automatically creates waypoints when they spawn: https://wago.io/HB29dQYlW

It will also show the loot they can drop (according to wowhead loot drops)

It won't show for rares you're already locked to that day and requires the TomTom addon.

You can disable/enable most of the text in the custom options.

How to sumon OOX-Avenger/MG:

1. check if Oglethorpe Obnoticus is in mechagon /way 72,8, 37,8

2. find and kill OOX-Fleetfoot/MG (I recommend you create a group). It will run around the island seemingly at random and its route changes constantly. I'm not sure whether there is a pattern or not. If you dont fly use jet-pack to find easy.

3. go to /way 57,77, 39,89

4. kill OOX-Avenger/MG

I was chasing the fleetfoot around today by myself attempting to solo kill it since no one was helping. After I got it down to about 60% it despawned on me by the flight point

This rare is kinda BS, the OOX-Fleetfoot has too much health and runs too fast for one person alone to kill it. It would be fine though, If people helped killing it but no, 2 consecutive times following and hitting the damn thing, people clearly saw me, I asked for help and no one cared. In fact, people seemed to go away even.
I guess I have to make a group before hunting it but still, for solo players is really BS

I would like to point out the chicken is named Rocket if you hover over his golden star on the minimap. This may confuse some people because beneath his spawn in a cave, there is a chance for another rare to spawn there as well.

Was a bit confused by what was listed here...

step 1 is actually - repair all the chickens you find around the island- some of them explode, some follow you, some abandon you and some turn into the little fleetfoot which you chase down.
step 2 kill fleetfoot
step 3 fleetfoot turns into megachicken oox-avenger - kill him for achiev up on the Hillside above junkbratt and roadtrogg!

This rare is now complete BS to spawn. Everyone is playing classic or has the blueprint already. Nobody is activating broken chickens at all. A full raid team of 20 people it took us an hour to get the rare kill because Fleetfoot despawned twice. When we finally did kill fleetfoot, bloody alliance tagged the rare because it bloody INSTA spawns after you kill fleetfoot.

This is the most obnoxious of all the rares on this island to spawn. And the fact that killing him every opportunity every time the quest is up, it still hasnt bloody dropped the blueprint.

Blizzard just screwed it on this one.

Short list of steps to announce to your raid group. (I suggest putting them in a macro for new joiners to group).

/rw Step 1) repair as many Dismantled OOX-35/MG as you can find /tar Dismantled
/rw 2) When you hear Overspark complaining about chickens, /tar OOX-Fleetfoot/MG
/rw 3) Announce to raid when you see Fleetfoot (or the Squaaak that announces Avenger spawn)
/rw 4) Stun/root & kill Fleetfoot
/rw 5) Head ASAP to /way 56.7 39.9 Please do NOT nuke, just tag until all reach it

If you have TomTom, highly recommend adding the way point for Avenger early on and staying in close to that area, near the Junkwatt Depot. My first group killed him before several of us reached it...

As others have commented, OOX only spawns on Chicken day when Oglethorpe Obnoticus. Repairing chickens may also give you a pet OOX-35/MG. You may want to farm at least 300 spare parts before starting.

You can go to Pascal and make Scrap Grenade that will stun Fleetfoot in addition to any class-specific stuns (HoJ, Leg Sweep, etc) you might have. These work especially well on the spots where Fleetfoot will pause momentarily before turning around. Throwing a grenade has a bit of cast time so time it carefully if you're trying to hit it on the run.

I'd use (or start) a group in Group Finder for killing Fleetfoot as you might be able to find others who have stuns and chip in on dps.

I try to avoid chasing through mob areas and attack Fleetfoot in town or clear areas so you can drop combat quicker, remount, and pursue.

Killed this by chance encounter along with a Mage with War Mode on, and a Rogue kept pestering us while trying to kill it... thankfully said Rogue wasn't the brightest, kept killing himself when I used Brightspine Shell. :P

Sweet jesus, congratz blizz on creating what is probably the most annoying parts of the game. This thing is nearly impossible to kill solo, on an island that no one is on anymore, and you have to farm in order to get the crazy low drop rate for part of a meta-achievement for a mount that they dangled in front of everyone for the patch. This has got to be the biggest player screw over since battle toads. Basically they're telling you "dont bother trying now, come back later when youre bored in the next xpac and farm it then. Oh but you'll still need to wait for the right NPC to be up"

Can't say much more than everyone has already said except that THE STUPID THING DESPAWNS on a timer, even if you have him at 10%, he might just dissapear......so you start again.

The primary reason to do this is to get the blueprint which is required for the meta achieve mecha-done which gives the mount.

I have made some macros to message people in general to help with this task.

1. Make a custom games group with keywords like: fleetfoot avenger chicken
Make them buttons on your hotbar. Press both at the same to recruit people.

macros:

/1 repair dismantled chickens ( /tar dismant ) to get them to return to Oglethope. When enough do, the Fleetfoot chicken spawns & runs around for 5 mins (6 mil HP) ( /tar OOX-fl ). When it dies, chicken avenger spawns@ 55, 38 (7% chance to drop blueprint)

/1 join my fleetfoot avenger chicken group if you want to hunt for fleetfoot (press i, select premade groups, select custom, search for fleetfoot)

May I suggest to anyone attempting to spawn this rare on a given day to turn off Warmode before you start. This is particularly important if there is a CTA quest for Mechagon up the week you are trying or if Grumbol Grimhammer is offering Off The Books Brawlin as the zone will be crawling with your opposite faction.

I spent around 20 mins repairing bots to get the Fleetfoot to spawn and then spent another 15 mins trying to kill the robot solo only to have the Avenger rare killed by a large group of horde.
